  1. Frost was embarassing the Lever camp. They had to act.
  2. Any other club would have scripted "To Hell and back" about a Club who had come out the other end winners. Says a lot about the Club and Board that it went to publication,
  3. No need to have a crack. You have a gall caling supporters on here negative pal.
  4. As recently as three or four weeks ago there was a story of Richo saying Goody is so do niot think he is doing his role without fear or favour. The Hardwick turn around a lot here talk about was dependant on Hardwick being told and listening to some hard truths.
  5. Goodwin will not be going anywhere for a while. How could the powers that be explain paying out his salary.
  6. Goody may not be a good team coach but surely someone with his playing credentials can get hold of the mid field group and sort out their problems. At this point it may be better for him to concentrate on individual improvement as it seems the task of looking after 40 players is beyond his capabilities. No shame in that. As John Kennedy famously said, do something. i could walk away somewhat happy with this year if our backline continues to play reasonably well and our midfield fires up. That would leave a clear area of the forward line to work on/recruit as we go forward. put ego aside, give Richo more of a run at it and let Goody concentrate on his area of expertise, the midfield. Thats my solution which will cost the club nothing, other than a gun forward coach next year.
  7. Lever.. Anyone else think Frosty was let go because he was an embaressment to the recruiting of Lever.
  8. It is absolutely true DrG . Years ago they had a room upstairs where the game could be watched. There would sometimes be 40-50 of us with the bar open. Over time in those lost years it was more often less than a dozen but it was still good value to be amongst others with the occasional friendly laugh at a skill error. And then the old screen would play up a bit until finally the room was put out of action. So now or last year you sat in the pokies/lounge area and watched on an ordinary screen. That is where you needed to alert the staff to the game. The other option is the sports bar with all the racing going on on other TVs. All the while the dining area is vacant. it goes to the heart of passion at the Club. I do not understand how a keen young Manager at either the bentleigh club or Melbourne has not thought to put on a lunch every away game, get a few guest speakers, have a raffle, you know the drill and make a day of it. it is a no brainer.
  9. Fair enough but Clubs will be hunting our mids looking for a bargain.
  10. Once members lose interest you never get them back, save for finals time. Life gets busy and you find other interests. We have an ageing membership and no reason except for family reason for kids to support the Club. Kozzie aside, not one exciting player. We have not been successful for x years and do not have a home base, Our coach is a SA, and a SA has never coached a Vic team to a flag. Mahoney is another SA ex player. Our president used to play for WC and came to Vic a decade ago looking for a Club he could rule. We own a good assett in the Bentleigh Club which often forgets Melbourne are playing, so you need to remind bar staff to turn on the telly. We had an old Big screen to watch it on but that broke. The Club has never thought to put on a supporters Lunch with a guest speaker at the dining room of the Club. So are we close to the end. As a Club to support, yes. As a Club as part of the Competion, maybe not, the corporate and big end of town band will play on for a while yet.
  11. More like. Who would you not consider trading?
  12. Take it easy. We are sometimes cruel to those who speak their mind on here. I reckon we are at our most dangerous low ebb I can recall s the power people in the Club are so sure they are on the right track. Hard core supporters less so.
  13. I do not disagree. Kozzie being thrown to the wolves. Time for a rest.
  14. So true. I expect we have an ageing membership too.
  15. Agree. need to move him somewhere where he attacks the ball to take a mark. One time today forward of the wing the ball waas kicked to him by a Tiges player. he punched it rather than tyake the mark forward of centre for us.
  16. Yes, but Lever has cost us the opportunity to fix forward problems due to his cost in dollars and draft picks. Defensive half backs are a dime a dozen.
  17. Something is lost in my supporting. I cannot put my finger on it. I think it is lost hope. I used to be the supreme optomist and would always back us in footy comps sometimes costing me any chance of winning. Lost a few bob with TAB and sportsbet over the years. Never again no matter how juicy the odds.
  18. I think he might be the sort of guy who needs the truth from someone he respects. His disposal is a massive defect currently but he also gets a lot of balls without much choice but to quickly get rid of it. Need an expert to fix that one. Its like his reflexes get him to a lot of balls others would not but it puts him under pressure. Maybe the game has changed but we need an old fashioned rover to Max. Maybe kozzie as he matures.
  19. How would you be being Bennell, being told you have to work on things then you watch this rubbish. Repetitive mistakes from top guns without consequence
