My memory was he was a late pick and likely influenced because of Tom so he has done okish in a less than okish team. Would he have improved at a Hawthorn, probably.

Sadly, so true. If we cannot keep Oliver and Petracca then supporting the Dees becomes purely sentimental. If either were to go Max might be tempted to go for glory, Jacko and Pickett tempted to head home. Everything is on the line the next two seasons.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
Half forward flank replied to Dee tention's topic in Melbourne Demons
I dont think we want both Tmac and Brown. Rather a smaller deadly forward if we keep Tmac and Weid. I have strong hope for Petty as a forward.. -
Agree on Brayshaw, not certain on cameron. I know he is a good player but would prefer someone with a bit more aggresion. That said would be happy to do that swap.

Stand by what I say. And to break it down a little more for you as you like stat. In the past four year he has finished outside the top 100 players for kicks three times and once finished 43. He has had a lot of handballs but has received a criticism for his dinky hanballing to other players from supporters and footy judges, especially this year. And remember he has been at the foot of the best tap ruckman all that time. Like all 23 year olds he requires good coaching to fully develop his game. That requires someone with skill, experience and good communication to deliver instuction and teaching on all aspects of his game. If you take this as a criticism you are reading this the wrong way. He, like others at MFC needs a big year next year as his result in the Best and Fairest testifies. You cannot be top five midfielder if you finish 6th in your Clubm who have finished 9th in their Best and Fairest. -
He coulda got the work experience kid who wrote it to give us a bit of a report on a home base. Maybe even a bit of, bitterly dissapointed we let you down stuff as well...

Not sure what else you can do with a draft pick other than use it to get a player.

You are jumping the gun a bit. Arrogant view to think he cannt improve with better coaching. He will be top five when he dominates a few finals. -

You have to factor in where Oliver could get to with top line coaching. -
Development the Key for Luke Jackson
Half forward flank replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
It is difficult to predict with certainty but a near certainty he will leave if we do not have success over the next two years. The attraction of a big WA offer with a successful Club, laid back lifestyle, great facilities is hard to compete with for a Club like Melbourne. I think we need to be helping these type of recruits access top Universities and other things a big city like Melbourne offers. Also meeting a local girl would help. Not you though Pollyanna. -
No.

pretty straight forward question, put it another way. Are you always rude when you ask questions?

Viney works hard for an average of only 20 disposals. -

St Kilda and Port got there through very astute recruiting, both different styles. Brisbane have had a very good coach in place, good senior players and young talent. I dont think it has dawned on some here just how good and ahead of us facilities and lifestyle are at the Queensland Clubs. Some are also scratching their heads at Carlton. i recommend for any of our supporters to go to princess park when covid is over, see the facilities, the fans at training, grab a coffee in the cafe, buy some Club gear in the shop, check the memorabilia and then have a coffee watching training. it has it all over Goschs and MCG precinct. -

Entirely agree to the extent that i would never again look at young talent and think they will always be Demons. I have no idea if the rumour is true but human nature tells me the star players look at finals and want to be in them. We are 1 from 4 in Goodwins term and players could be making their own assessments of where that figure may be in two years time. -
You have nt answered my question
-
A lot of poster on here would not have lasted five minutes in the Public bars of days gone by when footy rumour, bluff and bluster were all part of made inner suburban working life bearable for hard working men during miserable winters. Its all part of the game.

Do you speak to your husband like that?
-
I agree with you as well. I guess that was my point, that supporters are for the most part pretty good and fair judges of if a player is going to make it. Some we just hope against logic as with Smith of whom I see a spark but 2021 will tell.

I would not trade May. He cares about winning and losing. I would not trade Langdon.

Yes.

Lets go, name a player
-
I do not get given the time or money they do to provide that but could have told you two years ago the players we let go and are looking to trade this year would not make it. That was and remains my original point.

Well, we are in very different camps if you do not think we needed to review 2018 v West Coast and if you think a gun key defender, I assume you mean, Lever, was what would rectify West Coast pulling us apart. Fact is two years later, where are we? Your other argument seems to be, keep players who many on here believe should have gone 1-2 years ago for team coehesion.

I go back to the List Managers. Why did they think we were in the Premiership window after the sort of loss we had in the 2018 preliminary. Was it because the game was never reviewed, so the List Manager had no true reference point? As to point three, it has always amused me. An 18 year old grows up with his mates and 2-3 years later the media talks about him having a teamate/best mate a few years later. Players these days do not have the outlets to form best mate relationships to anywhere near the extent previous generations of players did. Instead we have little groups of mates within a team.
