  1. Property of the Club. Pretty sure their families ,wives and girlfriends might argue that. slavery has been abolished for a while now.
  2. frankly I think you are taking the pi.. Football Clubs do not give out contracts for the life of a players career. Players and Club typically commit for three years. That is the extent of each parties loyalty to each other. I think you are confused with amateur, social footy or underage stuff played with your mates. AFL mateship is mostly BS.
  3. Sorry to say, I just do not believe there is an option near the G. pert says there is a magic plot of land or lands they are looking at and yet refuses to say where. Smoke and mirrors from the bloke who supported the idiotic proposal at Jolimont.
  4. Are you in one of the States where weed is legal?
  5. I read it and found it astounding and frankly ignorant of the modern football career. That is why I politely asked you to clarify it.
  6. Cares about the game. What to you mean by that Ohio?
  7. It is the Melbourne Cricket Club not the Melbourne Footy Club. And they have been sub leasing it to other Clubs starting with Richmond for over fifty years.
  8. Yes, true. what is bewildering to me is the Jolimont proposal viewed the MCG parkland as just car parking space and had no feel for how the community viewed the area. anyone who had walked the area on a non footy day will get a totally different feel for the area and its mixed community usage.
  9. Clubs like the Bulldogs have been successful because they undertook extensive member and community consultation before developing their plans. I have heard of no such consultation with the community surrounding the vaguely proposed precinct we are supposedly done the track on. Yesterday I took a non footy day walk in the area we proposed for the Jolimont development. It was a lovely day, people were out walking, some playing basketball, others picnicking under trees. How anyone could propose carving that up and thinking local residents would not object is bewildering. And before some say anything. It was young people using the area not just the conservatives action group that opposed the idiotic proposal.
  10. I think Jake has had an easy ride to AFL level. At 195cm and not being required to play man on man is a gift. Easiest position on the ground to play. Forget concentating solely on intercept marking, get him stronger and give him challenges of beating the best forwards.
  11. I noted that slip of the tongue too, and got ridiculed for saying it on here
  12. Check victoria park out nowdays. It is a fantastic community park. Horse long bolted
  13. Very happy with this move and a great example of not having to pay big bucks to get and keep a competent AFL player who just might come in very handy. His has know attributes rather than the hoping and praying with some others we have previously kept on the list.
  14. I am not interested in Charlie. Lets see how he goes in big finals.
  15. Come on ben, best player in the comp?
  16. Each to their ability. Well done Oscar. I hoperd you would come on a bit more.
  17. Gee a big step up to the AFL from those highlights.
  18. Yeah, needs some strong goals set for 2021. With his skill and experience he should be really firing and a tough matchup.
  19. I think he needs to be fighting for a place from round one onwards. If he has failed after 5 rounds as a forward our season is likely in strife.
  20. Yes he does and I think it will make some players more concious of their kicking. Even at suburban level you want to do a good kick to your star players.
  21. The Club needs to set him some seious goals for 2021. Like kicking goals. I would not give him games based on leadership because I just dont see it. He is at a career stage where it could just be a paycheck.
  22. Then, logically it refers to high profile players. if it was lesser players they would be regularly dropped and delisted. My view is some big possession players do not respect low profile coaches no matter how good they may or may not be. It also gets to the game plan. Maybe if the game plan is best served by you getting twenty possessions and defending instead of thirty possessions doing your own thing so think, stuff it. I think Yze has instant credibiliity that may have been lacking.
  23. Happy for Tom to stay, work hard, drop weight, adjust his game plan. Brown or Weid goes down and he is back as a wanted player. He got lucky with his contract. Good for him.
  24. Having met and spent time with WW1 Veterans in 1978 it irks me when people use the term, would like him in the trenches. No one knows who would be good companions in the trenches. Most of the old veterans were the most unwarlike, least macho blokes you would ever meet. Tough men can go to water and meek guys become heroes. The footy analogy on Anzac day gives me the s.... as well.
  25. You really have a think for arguing the toss with me. Factually the MCG was a shared home ground from 1966. Now, a shared home ground is not a home ground, it is a shared home ground. Even as a 9 year old I could see we had lost our greatest advantage. Kids in the playground. said well how can it be your home ground and richmonds too. By the late sixties I would go to a Richmond home game at the MCG where they were playing us. It never was, nor felt the same again.
