  1. I’ll be honest I haven’t been paying close attention to the roll-out but this eminent lock down will focus my mind. I’ll be researching and taking a much closer look at it. Agree the AFL will need to consider very carefully before advocating for player vaccination. Risk categories and health workers absolutely get priority. 100% agree with you there. But scenarios where vaccines are there but people aren’t turning up to take them has to be questioned. We can’t let hold-outs or stragglers, no matter their risk status, delay a broader roll-out. If there are people in the community who are prepared to get vaccinated in full knowledge of the risks then they should be allowed to do so, on the proviso they are not taking a vaccine which a person in a risk category is ready and willing to take.
  2. I think it's time to consider vaccinating the teams, coaches and support staff. This will allow them to move freely across state lines (or i think it should anyways) and negate any talk of Hubs. If there's no shortage of vaccine and risk categories are dragging the chain in terms of take up I don;t see any moral reason why this can;t be done. Obviously health workers and risk groups get priority but there's no point having vaccine sitting there with nobody turning up to get vaccinated.
  3. The powers that be need to get their act together and turbo charge the vaccine roll-out. Complacency is creeping back in again and we all know what happened the last time. The only way out of Covid world is by getting everyone vaccinated ASAP. Their will always be vaccine hold-outs and cranks but it this instance they do have a point. We have no idea about the long term effects of the vaccines because the longitudinal studies which are typically done before a vaccine is approved have not been done. I’ll be getting mine. I have to if I want to travel overseas but I’ll be keeping a close eye on the adverse events data for the various vaccines before I get my jabs.
  4. Maxy was in fantastic form over the first 6 weeks, Brownlow form, but the dip has been quite pronounced. And his mistakes, when he makes them, always seem to be costly and rash. A silly 50, tapping the ball down the throat of oppo player to score the easy goal, dropped marks which lead to goals. Costly free kicks I think he has been a victim of the changed forward set-up as well. Early season he was going forward and taking marks but since he’s gone forward and got in the way, and looked a little lost actually. He works so hard and is still getting up and down the ground. His top form will return I’m sure.
  5. They're fantastic. Love the both of them. Reckon though you could pair the Bont with any of 2 or 3 doggies midfielders to have an equivalent if not better pair.
  6. I absolutely hope this outbreak can be contained and does not spread and as disappointing as it is not to be able to go, if it means we can keep a lid on Covid then i'll accept it. That being the case, and thinking from a very selfish fan perspective, does the lack of a crowd benefit us? We didn't do too well in front of the Crows fans last weekend so i reckon there's some advantage.
  7. If we bring the same level of intensity and pressure that got us the win against the tiges and we kick straight then we’re a big chance. Treloar out compensates for Salem and even without Viney i still think we'll win.
  8. Wouldn't mind a drone strike on Optus stadium. After my experiences over there at the 2018 prelim i have flashbacks and PTSD every time it appears on screen. That place needs to be wiped off the map.
  9. We have all the pieces to win it this year Richmond won a granny with Riewoldt and a swarm of midgets upfront We just need to keep grinding away, secure top 4, time our run to ensure we are in good form and have a healthy list going into September. And hopefully the bounce of the ball goes our way.
  10. Who would want to be an umpire? The rules keep changing and way too much scope for interpretation. What was wrong with the old deliberate rule. Why has HTB all of a sudden become such a confusing mess. Our game against Carlton last week was a farce. The AFL created this mess and need to sort it out. And i reckon there's a role for technology to help umpires
  11. That turnover from Noble is one of the worst i've seen all year.
  12. I consider it a win win situation A win for the pies does us a favor They lose I still get to laugh at their predicament
  13. Hopefully the pies can do us a favor by knocking over Port. Coupled with the Eagles losing means our 3 game buffer inside the Top 4 is maintained.
  14. There were a lot of players off song yesterday but if I was to try to distill into an over-arching theme I would say our attitude was wrong and has been for a few weeks now. We’ve covered over this reality because our defence has been excellent. An attitude adjustment will cure a lot of our ills (although structure forward is still an issue) Time to draw a line under this game and focus on the doggies. Time to sharpen up and bring the pressure and intensity that typified our wins v the Tiges and Cats. Clarry led the way yesterday. The other senior players, Trac, Max, May, Lever and TMac need to step up and follow his example. No passengers next week. It has to be a 22 man manic effort else we’re not going to win.
  15. I think the review will be quite easy this week. Just show Oliver's game and drum home to everybody that that is the level required to beat the dogs
  16. Will we start fining players for missing set-shots? We need umps with the cojones to make the call. It takes real guts to make those calls in hostile environments. Most umps being human will succumb. Perhaps some sort of video review could work, perhaps 2 challenges per game goes to the video ump. buys time and takes the pressure off the ump.
  17. I reckon that insufficient intent rule is the greatest crock of all time. The variety of umpiring decisions in this regard is bewildering. Spargo is inside his forward 50 and mis-kicks. Why on earth would he have any incentive whatsoever to put it over the boundary line when in possession in that position. And then the polar opposite non call for the most deliberate OOB you will ever see. The AFL will be embarrassed yet again because a third game this season has been decided by a non-call by the umpires. The umps are human. They will get it wrong just like players miss easy goals. Is it time for some kind of video review? I think it has to be considered for such catastrophic bad decisions. Something like cricket where the team has 2 reviews per game to challenge an on-field call. It’s just not good enough that games are decided in this manner. The AFL need to act now. An embarrassing admission of error via a press conference makes no difference and just doesn’t cut it anymore. Can you imagine the bitterness and resentment we would be feeling this morning if that was a GF! People who say we should have won the game already, that there were 200 moments in the game which could all have changed the trajectory of the match. But the reality is during the game you can react. When its practically the last action of the match there’s nothing you can do. Sort this out AFL for the good of the game.
  18. Just seen this post Daniel. If you forked out to head to Adelaide you're no fair weather fan. Ignore my last post (i'm still stewing a bit from that non-call last night as well)
  19. If your that easily put off perhaps it's best you stay away. we need some loud support next Friday not fair weather fans
  20. They’ve broke a 5 game losing streak. Let them enjoy their win. We have bigger things to focus on for the time being but we’ll be ready for them in Rd 22.
  21. The dogs performance tonight has zero relevance to the game next week. The saints are pathetic. We'll be a much harder nut to crack for the dogs
  22. For those who need a cheer up i have 2 words. St Kilda.
  23. Dogs putting the Saints to the sword. I wish we could do that. Just once would be nice.
  24. JJ needs a rest. Viney or if not fit then sparrow I think Brown has to come back in. The Weid to make way. He didn't take his chance. Fritsch deserves to be dropped. North was the last good game he played. Not impressed with him at all this evening especially after that non-goal when he should have passed to Trac.
