WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - KYSAIAH KROPINYERI PICKETT
BDA replied to olisik's topic in Melbourne Demons
Part Cyril, part Michael Long, part Aaron Davey (I think Dermie compared him to all 3 last night). Steven May has competition as my favourite player. -
Just watched the full replay. I’m absolutely stoked with that display. Not a complete performance by any means but without doubt we again displayed a level of maturity which has been lacking the last few seasons. GWS asked the question and we answered it. That’s a game we’re coughed up previously. I hope they get their players back because if they continue to play like that they will beat teams we are competing with for Top 4. Toby Greene will cause problems for any team. Great player. Best games of the year for LJ, Hunt, ANB and Fritsch. We are getting contributions across the board. I think we all need to remember that you do not get to play games of AFL on your terms all the time. Talk of percentage boosts before the game were ridiculous. People disappointed we’re not winning by 50-60 points. You’re getting ahead of yourselves. Big test next week against the Cats. They are so street smart and know how to win by fair means or fowl. I think they will play like GWS last night so we really need to work on creating separation this week. TMac was crowded out every time (I’d persevere with him by the way, he has credits in the bank from his first 2 games). I think it’s a 50/50 game. Win it and i'll really start to believe.

Yep. final played following weekend 16/17, no break. Venue dependent on who gets through. How are things in the emerald Isle? Everyone fed-up i imagine.
-
Who is playing well in the 2's?
-
I think he just out manoeuvred him, read the flight better. Got to the drop zone and managed to hold position.

Next Saturday. There's a 9 hour difference with Ireland now so 5.10 am in the morning Irish time (if you're interested in watching) After earning a break in Week One of the 2021 NAB AFL Women’s Finals Series, Minor Premier the Adelaide Crows will host Melbourne in a Preliminary Final on Saturday, April 10 at 1:40pm local time (2:10 AEST) at Adelaide Oval.

Because he's a great footballer. If he was playing for any other team he'd be lauded as one of the best in the comp. Super player.
-
Not sure I want to get into a back and forth with you on Gus. He played his part in a very good win. Other players contributed less imv. If someone gets squeezed out and it happens to be Gus I won’t be organising any protest marches.
-
We won a game that in recent seasons we would have lost. I'd call that improvement.
-
Jeez Nev, you give Gus a hard time. I thought he did his bit tonight. Manned his wing, tough in the contest and took his goal well. One of our better players.

Give it a rest. I think you'd complain no matter what DeeS
-
Pickett Hunt Fritsch (Can't believe the lack of love for his kicking tonight) Gawn Langdon Viney
-
We ticked a lot of boxes tonight Make no mistake the giants came to play. Superb win It's time to skin some cats

You look like you're dealing with with some severe MFCSS Big Fez. The Dees winning games is the only known cure!
-
The heart and guts this team have shown over the past few weeks has been amazing. I know we won’t lose for wont of effort or application. The fixture stitched us this year, again. A run of Adelaide, Freo, Brisbane, Freo and now Adelaide again is a tall order. We’ve been magnificent the last 4 weeks but facing a rested Adelaide at the Adelaide oval may just be a bridge too far. Perhaps momentum and adrenalin will see us home. It’ll be a win for the ages if we pull it off. The heart says the Dees but the head says Adelaide.
-
Swans have always been good at developing players. Our youngsters are developing just fine. Sparrow and Jordon have been very steady for us. Spargo maturing nicely. Rivers will be a gun. Likewise LJ. Wouldn't swap Kossie Pickett for any of theirs.
-
If both teams turn up to play I reckon it’s a 50/50 proposition. If our attitude is off we lose. If we’re switched on from the get-go and GWS dish up more of the same, we’ll win handily. It all depends on the mindset of both teams. It looks like the GWS players have stopped listening to Cameron. Their showing last week was truly pathetic. I think they’ll give a yelp in the first quarter so we need to weather the early storm. We can’t allow them to get the jump on us. If we shackle them early, impose ourselves and apply scoreboard pressure I reckon they will fold. Win or lose I expect to see two way running, ferocious tackling and second and third defensive efforts. If we are finally as mature as we reckon we are then attitude and defensive efforts are non-negotiable. Dees by 5 goals

Thanks for the tip. a lot of weeping and whaling and knashing of teeth over there this evening. btw crappy webpage
-
Has his direct opponent kicked any goals on him? that's the stat i'd like to know.
-
Looking like we’ll be one of the remaining three unbeaten teams by the end of the evening. Don’t remember when that happened last.
-
Kochie not looking too happy
-
I reckon this year is just as much about defence and we are lucky enough to have a rock solid defensive unit at the moment. No way Essendon waltz through and score against us like they did today. Don't worry. The goals will flow once BB and/or the Weid return.
-
I expect to see some serious back pedaling in the media this week. A lot of commentators talked up st kilda.
-
Brisbane and Collingwood are still in the thick of it. St Kilda are miles off. GWS should have beaten them but for a massive choke by the Giants. Essendon and ourselves beat them easily. They have a tough run in the next 3 against the Eagles, Port and Richmond. I reckon they’re in big trouble.

Correct call. If it ain't broke don't fix it
