He was a good lad Frosty. Gave his all. I wish him well in the finals (but not the Hawks). I don't miss the small heart attacks he induced in me though.
  4. i went with Carlton but it was a very tough choice between them and the Cats

They are an indicator. together with the other noise around the club there's sufficient evidence to justify a review. If the results find Gary Pert if still the man for the job then i'll accept the findings. I would like to know terms of reference and who is conducting the review. If that stacks up then no reason to question the review recommendations
  6. his magic didn;t seem to work with the Crows. i agree with others though. we should try to lure him back

From an on-field perspective i think the team was very consistent for a number of seasons until this year. off-field there was the entrecote incident 2 years ago. drinking heavily and brawling in public. and some of the words that were exchanged were not reflective of a supportive culture. I'm not surprised Melks reacted the way he did. Maybe that was a one-off incident. but maybe not..
  8. I didn't know this. Not a good look but according to the article was signed off by the club.
  9. It's not just because of a single poor interview though. There are problems at the club she has presided over. Facilities are her specialist area and after 10 years there's still no home base. If she has been proactive in seeking out steven Smith then that's to her credit. And she has been very supportive of the AFLW team. She was part of an administration that delivered a flag. But the last few years have not been good. Time for change.
  10. She's been excellent. huge loss for the season. i hope she can fully recover. And i wouldn't mind if she gave the boxing away and focussed exclusively on footy. return to boxing post footy
  11. The Tayla Harris news is shocking. Huge loss. I hope she can recover fully and is raring to go come rd 1 next year.
  12. Communications with members, and in general, have been very poor and will be one of the main areas the review will cover. There will need to be some level of transparency around the results of the review otherwise how can we have confidence it has been conducted properly. That doesn't mean people get machine gunned but i expect high level recommendations and plan to implement are made public. And besides, results will probably be leaked anyways. Get on the front foot if nothing else.

  14. This game has been scheduled for 11am on saturday morning. WTF I would have brought the kids to Casey but that time clashes with their basketball games. I know finals are on but is this the best the AFL can do for a marquee match like this? braindead.
  15. Yes as long as the review has been conducted independently

this thread is ticking along still. I hope we have a good start to the season next year otherwise this whole CP5 thing will de-stabilise us again.

  18. Change is afoot. Wouldn't surprise me if the external review is a condition of steven smith joining the board. Adopt the recommendations and put a broom through the place. start again afresh.

I’ll back Trac in to get back to his best. After hearing Maxy’s interview last week I’ve no doubt ll get back on track with the playing group. I’ve no concerns there. Neither Trac, the playing group or the club covered themselves in glory during this whole shambles. The backgrounding to the press has been appalling and an inditement on everyone. I would like to know what issues Trac raised and how these will be dealt with. There needs to be communication from the club to the members here. The usual “she’ll be right, every club has problems” line won’t do. I expect to see changes and it looks like Pert and Roffey are in the gun. Huge 2025 coming up for this club.

Impressive effort from the wooden spooners

My takes from this whole imbroglio are: 1. the club leaks like a sieve. Stamp it out now. 2. trac needs better advisors. 3. Kate Roffey needs to prep properly before interviews. And her and Pert need to can the corporate speak. Talk plainly to us members, acknowledge issues and communicate a plan to address 4. Max Gawn is an outstanding leader and communicator. Pert and Roffey take note 5. Stop talking about culture. Demonstrate culture through actions on the field.

We have plenty of problems at the club. Max as captain is not one of them.
