  1. 10.20am Bazza. It's a TV game. I know you won't want to mis any of the reserves action.
  2. Wind the clock back 7 days and Carlton got rolled by 20 goals.
  3. I'd say it was probably a day noone else had booked a wedding for and it was cheaper as a result.
  4. It's stupidity but it happens from time to time such is the VFL reserves fixture.
  5. No I mean Sandringhams RESERVES and SENIORS teams play at Williamstown BUT their opponent in the RESERVES match is Frankston and their opponent in the SENIORS is Williamstown. Confusing I know but its a point not mentioned anywhere in this thread.
  6. Reserves are playing against Frankston on Sunday but the reserves match is at Williamstown.
  7. Sandy are on ABC in two weeks. Sandringham v Bendigo at Trevor Barker Oval. Zebras always cop a raw deal on the TV. Werribee, Bullants, Port Melbourne are constantly on!
  8. You can actually see that on the TV coverage, geez it was brave and gutsy knowing in hindsight what condition the bloke was in and how he must have been feeling. Inspirational really and the sort of character we want wearing the red and blue jumper. Anyone with the match on tape its with the clock on 13:54 remaining in the first qtr you see him with a doctor about 10m away from the bench, but the ball comes in his area he runs away to a contest before jogging off again about 20 seconds later. Doesnt seem there is anything shown as to how it happened, except for the commentary as he comes off Denis Cometti refers to the niggle that had been taking place between Walker and Petterd in the early part of the game. Thank god he's alright, wish him all the best in the recovery and we'll look forward to seeing him back in 2008!
  9. No it doesn't. Only to Saturday afternoon Devils VFL games at Bellerive or Saturday AFL curtain raiser matches in Launceston.
  10. Pretty sure its on 97.7FM in Melbourne or www.3ser.org.au on the net.
  11. Not only have we already had a number of home games, we have had a great free to air schedule as well. We have a fair bit of Fox Sports action in the second half of the season
  12. There is supposedly a policy in the MCC area that seat saving is permitted for a reasonable period of time to buy food or go to the toilet. But this is poorly enforced.
  13. Agree. So good today...agree with whats been written already and I think we can even forget his little brainfade and 50m penalty!
  14. CJ looks like that singer who was on Australian Idol last year.
  15. Put about 15kg on!!!!! Beating 18 and 19 year old forwards in the VFL is a tad different to playing on the Rocca's and Neitz's in the AFL.
  16. What a great night of footy, two ripper games. A draw and a match decided by one point. Wish there were more close games in footy (well except when the Dees are playing).
  17. Probably not. Essendon would've had John Barnes out there with his white cap on, flapping his arms around waving everyone around and yelling out how long to go. Probably telling the player (in our case Jones) where to kick it as well. Maybe something we should try if, heaven forbid, we are in that situation again next week!
  18. The AFL's greed in taking all this cash has meant the networks don't have the cash to service the fans properly. Fox splitting their games as they did through Fox Footy costs them a lot to do, Seven and Ten can't afford to take a hit in revenue/ratings by showing AFL games at a decent hour. in Northern states Seven and Ten also have to throw more ads in the coverage to get some of this cash back.
  19. The last 12 seconds of the game is interesting as well. Jones has the ball in our back 50, the risk of kicking out to the wing to TJ in a contest was far too high. If you look at the replay in slow motion as Jones has the ball (even better in widescreen), look at where Jeff White is and note the amount of space ahead of him in the corridor!!!! Jones needed to try and get it to White who could have loaded up long into our forward line, would probably have needed a mark but I think it might have been a better option. In any case when you are having your last roll of the dice, with less than 20 seconds left, a long kick directly into the forward line is the only way to go.
  20. Disagree with you there, he was one of our major handball culprits today. He also has developed a dreadful habit of getting the easy receive - jog trotting past the player with the ball for a handball receive. We need Bruce further up the ground competing and contesting - not picking up cheap handball receives or little marks from sideways kicks.
  21. Spell check. You'd have gotten value for money there, plenty of material!
  22. We weren't even one on one. when the ball was back in the middle, Akermanis was inside the Bulldogs forward fifty ON HIS OWN! TJ stood on the wing and watched, probably happy enough cos it may have been advantageous to him had we got the footy. But it wasn't us who needed to score again, it was the Dogs. Eventually Bell (who was on Giansiracusa) went to Aker and Giansiracusa and Johnstone got a little closer. Wasn't impressed with that at all, we should've had two or three loose defenders show initiative and flood back, not be undermanned down there.
  23. Agree! He should go back to being a producer like he was at Channel 7. He's too damn serious (in other words BORING) for that show. He belongs on the ABC. The bloke should crack open a bottle of red and have a few glasses before the show to loosen up. Hardly ever laughs and always saying "oh that was a bit out of line Hughesy". Pleeeeease.
  24. Anyone notice the stretcher for Cornes taken onto the ground, the trainers ran the thing straight past one of the umpires, yet 5 seconds later the same bloke was waiving his hands calling "play on". The clown from 50m away had to blow his whistle and run across to tell him to hold up the game. Slightly worrying when they don't notice a bright orange stretcher carried straight past them!
  25. According to Bruce on Ch7, there were SEVEN frees in total for the 2nd half (both sides) up til the free against Neitz. So in a match with little whistle blowing, the last two frees when a match was in the balance seemed inconsistent and perplexing.
