  1. Richmond in Cairns - Friday night at 7.30pm
  2. Most will probably just get the train down there I'd imagine. Only takes about 55 from Spencer St.
  3. They'd all have had photos taken but for some reason the new players pics always seem to get loaded first.
  4. Interesting, I think thats the Labour Day long weekend. Any reason for the twilight game?
  5. Just interested to see where people start the day to find their footy news.
  6. He had a knee reco last year which may be why he wasnt training fully.
  7. Full 2008 VFL Fixture has been released: http://vfl.aflvic.com.au/default.aspx?s=ne...&aid=127927
  8. Photo 6 is of the invite players.
  9. From left Grimes, Morton, Kangars (invitee) in front, behind looks like McNamara, Lyons (invitee) and Cheney. Not sure who is obscured by Cheney.
  10. He's from the Eastern Ranges in the TAC Cup, his local club is Beaconsfield.
  11. Memberships dont get ground entry for the NAB Cup and the Cats fans wont have access to any reserved seats that they hold for the home and away season. And I really doubt they'll get anywhere near 30,000 people to the game anyway.
  12. Cheney becomes a Demon by Matthew Hillard MELBOURNE Football Club officials have told Warracknabeal's Kyle Cheney to relax today and tomorrow before he embarks on a professional football career on Wednesday. The Demons selected Cheney at pick number 53 in Saturday's AFL draft. They want him in Melbourne on Wednesday but the 18-year-old is still grasping the life-changing fact. Family and friends gathered at Cheney's Warracknabeal home on Saturday morning as the draft commenced. Nervously they waited as 52 player names were called out; 53 proved to be the magic number. "All the family was there and a big cheer went up when my name was called out," Cheney said. "But it still hasn't sunk in. I had a few mates around our house and some family and friends last night, but I'm still trying to get over it." Kyle's father Michael said the family was now busily preparing for their youngest son's departure on Wednesday. "It's a huge thing, and we're all sort of trying to come to terms with it," Mr Cheney said. "Kyle's a good level-headed kid, he keeps everything pretty much under wraps, even though there was a lot of expectation put on him. "But getting down there will be an eye-opener for him; he'll probably realise he's one of them once he's there." CONGRATULATIONS: Warracknabeal's Cheney family gather around son, brother and AFL draftee Kyle. Pictured from left are mother Leonie, brother Brenton, father Michael and sister Leannon. Kyle was drafted on Saturday to the Melbourne Football Club. Picture: MICHAEL RUDOLPH
  13. Not sure yet, but prefer night games they suit me much better, so it may be down on what I saw this year.
  14. There's also some good 60 second video clips of Morton, Grimes, Maric and McNamara on afl.com.au. They may have been referred to elsewhere but they're worth a look too. BTW, i notice on the front page that you turned 18 today dazzledavey - so happy birthday.
  15. Got mine today. Gotta love the line "We are please to advise there will be no increase in membership prices for our 150th year, despite an increase in AFL ticket prices (Members who purchase after 31/12/07 will be subject to a $5 late service fee). In what way is signing after 31 December 2007 for a season which starts in late March 2008 LATE? Probably a little rude, I think its more polite to say people who pay early receive a discount. Also what do people think about only getting one card that you reuse every year - personally I like a new membership card every year. Always good to see which players are on the card and the new design. Don't know about you but my credit cards and licence get a bit wrecked by three years, I'm not sure how holding onto the same membership card for 6 or 8 years will work.
  16. I have not received any magazine this year. I contacted the club in June to ask whether any had been sent out yet, I was told there was a magazine sent out at the start of the season (the season guide thing) and the woman was going to put one in the post for me that day. I even gave my postal address to her on the phone. Never received it and I couldnt be bothered ringing up again for it. A successful club starts by getting the little things right, there are time that the club/member relationship and customer service needs to improve. Those who dont feel they get value for their buck wont bother to sign up next year - particularly the $50 MCC members - the people the club are so desperate to keep.
  17. And they play Friday night in Rd 22. We play Sunday. We might meet them in a final where we have a 6 day break and they get 8. Evens itself out.
  18. Hawthorn and the Kangaroos (WTF?) get 9 night games as well.
  19. Maybe we can be happy with 12 games at the MCG. No home game at Telstra Dome is also a positive. Just one of our first 6 games on free to air TV. 12 Foxtel games for the season all up. All six of our interstate matches are Foxtel games, denying supporters without pay tv the chance to watch the game at home. But to have just one night match for the entire season. Then there's the 15 Sunday games - well good luck to the club trying to get people there with so many Sunday matches. Our 2007 form didnt help our cause, but we've been dudded by the AFL with this schedule. Wonder what the club line will be on this?
  20. Thats pathetic, one night game for the whole season - both Friday and Saturday nights. Given the AFL plays 66 games in Friday and Saturday night timeslots we havent fared too well.
  21. Is Chad Liddell just stepping down from the captaincy or is he leaving Sandringham altogether? I heard he was the target of at least one Nepean League club who approached him to be their coach for 2008.
  22. Yeah you're a great proof reader mate!
  23. I thought this was a thread about Finks being in love with Chris Judd.
  24. Question for Barry, Jack, Zebraman or anyone else who was at the match...they obviously had 6 Melbourne player in today, 16 VFL listed players. What sort of changes would you expect they'll make next week? How many Demons will they go with? If so, who might be some of the Zebras listed players who get dropped?
  25. The story has just been broken on Channel 10 News.
