Why have the footy department been hiding Jai Culley until 4 rounds to go? He is exactly what we have been needing from any of our traded in recruits. Tall, athletic, able to play forward, wing, mid and can take a great grab and kick a goal. Another blight on our selections throughout the year.

Can anyone shed some light on why Tom McDonald has been out of the side? I thought he was having a very solid season before being dropped all the way back in Round 12, and he hasn’t been able to break back in until this week. He wasn’t even recalled when Lever missed a game, which I found surprising. Once again, I thought he played well. He defended strongly, used the ball efficiently, and made smart decisions. I know he’s getting on in age and this might be his final season (or maybe one more), but based on form, he’s been one of our most consistent defenders this year. I’m struggling to understand why he seems out of favour. I get that it’s tough to fit four key defenders into three spots, but on performance alone, I’d have him in our top three. What do others think?

There is simply nothing more electric than Kozzy lighting up the G. 5 goals which could easily have been 7 or more. We have to do everything in our power to keep him in the red and blue. 3 first round picks and we'll still be getting short changed.

I rate Daniel Turner very highly as a forward prospect. He’s got strong hands and is a more reliable set shot than many of our current key forwards. That said, he’s also a very impressive defender. He reads the play exceptionally well, is strong overhead, clean at ground level, and composed with ball in hand. I genuinely think he has the makings of a top-quality backman. What I really like is the flexibility he and Petty provide. Both are capable of swinging forward or back depending on the needs of the game. But for now, I’d keep Turner in defence and leave Petty up forward.

I know the game was essentially wrapped up early in the final quarter when we pushed the lead out to 44 points, but is it a worry that everything seemed to fall apart once Max was rested? We conceded the last four goals, and during that period our skills, execution, and overall system completely broke down. It really took the shine off what should have been a comfortable and enjoyable win especially given the season we've had so far. And let’s not forget, percentage could matter. I know it might sound like nitpicking, but that last quarter left a sour taste.

With Lever going off with an ankle injury and perhaps destined for a stint on the sidelines and May's return indeterminate are we cooked in defence?

JVR’s early injury quickly exposed our lack of depth in the forward line, as well as the flow-on effect it had on our ability to provide in-game ruck support for Max without compromising our tall forward stocks. Hopefully, his back spasms were just a one-off rather than a sign of a more significant issue that could sideline him for an extended period. Absolutely. There's been a lot of talk about how we're not directly hearing from Trac himself, but make no mistake, we're definitely getting signals from his camp, albeit indirectly, through various media channels. While it’s true that some of the reports might be spiced up with a bit of embellishment or exaggerated language designed to increase the clicks, the underlying message seems pretty clear. The consistent narrative emerging suggests that he would like to be elsewhere come 2025.

I know we're desperate not to get unders for Trac but we also have to be realistic that we are not going to get overs for Trac either. As much as a superstar as he is. He is coming off a traumatic injury, there is the perception that this situation has been handled in an unprofessional manner, he is 29 and there is no guarantee that he fully recovers from this injury or that he can return to the heights of his pre-injury years. Clubs will play hardball with us based on the above. They are not stupid and we have been easy targets and "good" to deal with in the past. I'm not confident we won't get [censored] in this deal.

This is the point that was explicitly stated in the original TM expose on the issue that, and it pains me to say it, lends some validity to the story. Why include that point unless it was explicitly requested by the leaker? Perhaps Trac didn't want to throw Goody under the bus. If true who did he want to throw under the bus. That is the crux of the matter.

I just can't see what else they could have said under the circumstances.
