Stupid overreaction. As long as we give him enough training time and Casey games Christian can make a successful comeback before the bye. Agree that we have a wealth of HBFlankers lining up to take his place.

Well just like Beard in this forum who predicted all doom and gloom about our crowd last week vs Bullies ( a very respectable 48,103 with at least 38,000 or more Dees fans ) WCW the fact is nearly all tickets have been sold. On AFL 360 Monday night GW mentioned that over 30,000 tickets had already been sold and only 2,000 remained. While no doubt there are some fans that attend both codes there is not necessarily a huge crossover on nights like this. Also a reasonable % of the sold out Lang Park crowd are new team Dolphins new fans as it is their home game. Broncos fans have ensured its capacity of about 53,000 reached no doubt. ( 3 weeks ago the Dolphins drew 34,000 to their opening game at Suncorp I believe) WCW Brisbane's population is over 2 million people and if you add Gold and Sunshine Coasts at least 2.75 million. They are very enthusiastic about quality sport in their city even though their Test Cricket crowds are probably behind Adelaide and Perth. All in all about 85,000 could attend both games tonight so that is equivalent to the 86,000 Which attended the Cats/Pies blockbuster last Friday night. Pretty damn good for about half of Melbourne's population. The wash up of fans could well be Broncos 30,000 Lions 29,000 Dolphins 23,000 and Dees 2/3,000. A balmy 25deg is predicted at first bounce just hot enough for you to be on top voice WCW and our team in peak form to trounce the home team who generally are not tough enough against our champion bulls on the ball. PS I have lived in Brisbane 30 years on 28 April (which it has doubled its population in that time ) after moving for work in 1993. Didn't stop me from being at the G last Sat to enjoy one of the best and most enthusiastic Demon crowds support our team and start their redemption ride in 2023 for the 2023 Flag. Go Dees and HP will be alright .

Why Chandler ??? Weren't you happy with Kade? I thought he did well and again could have kicked at least 2. Probably Laurie but round have liked him to have another chance.
-
His disposal is first class shortish or longish very quick. Jayden ran with the ball differently looking to bounce at least once and often hold the ball up not getting it on to a teammate.

Yes that's true I guess I just want to give JVR a chance sooner than later! Patience is a virtue!!
-
Agree Binman at this stage JVR is a possible replacement for Fritta. To be honest thought it might have been a chance to make JVR the sub vs Dogs to give him a chance especially if Tmac had to be moved back for a stretch. We had plenty of flankers etc. I thought. Suppose it's also great for Melky to get nearer to his 200th game.

Sometimes we have to be patient RIF. If you waited 57 years of your life in 2021 like me then patience is a virtue and I look forward to whoever the next 23 or 44 players bring us our 14th Flag ASAP.

Some very good points made and like Geelong last year and us in 2021 thanks to no or very few ( Maysie and Holmes) both had all bases covered. geelong did some deliberate and Smart Selection of keeping their oldies fresh we snuck Staphie in by stealth ! However this year is different we are in a good position not too rush players back. Salem should be at least at Casey. Jack and Fritta replace Kossie and Laurie much an all I would like to keep Bailey in for his benefit. May prob replace Harmes or Tommo. Will be fascinating to see if Lions start players as they finished in the Semi having been changed after half time. Great game anticipated and Will again be hard but one we are very capable of succeeding providing our defence holds up.

Memberships are counted as a single item irrespective if you have 1, 2 or say 3 different ones. That is not inflating. If you buy say Easter eggs one a bunny another egg shape and a third a bilby that is also three eggs!! What is the difference? Some fail to acknowledge that those 3 memberships can be utilised by 3 different people on any occasion that ticket is qualified to be used, or not if the purchaser elects. Some people like Hawk/ Demon seem to not understand this and think the Club is conveniently misrepresenting our membership figures. Car CO's owners sell 3 cars it is 3 no matter if the purchase is by the 3 items individually or as a group in one transaction. End of story.

That's not true. If you don't stand up for yourself you just get trampled on. Perfect case for serious lawyer to challenge the AFL make up rules on the run and their integrity. It's over Tuesday night generally and players have got to learn to handle these issues when they arise. It's very easy to walk away but the tackle was not high nor strong. Smith was up instantly with thumbs up and the report by Christian said high impact. Patently wrong 1 week off or even 2!!!

Surely Jakes early marks some were contested? Strand stat this one. Will say that we passed to teammates a lot in the open or way out in their own.
-
That was an issue last season but not in the pre season JVR came back very fit training in WA over the break. I don't think it applies to Goody now and I certainly have not heard that pre season after 4/5 mths of training.
-
There was no "knocked out " so you wouldn't have had to worry. See my earlier post.

Really I am astounded at the "bush lawyers"' opinions on this charge. Seriously I haven't seen Buddy's or the Giants/Crows clashes except that both resulted in concussion and were out of the game I believe. In fact I only became aware of the Kossie report speaking on the train going home with fellow Dees fans. I was at Punt Rd end behind the point post just under cover but have never liked any other area at the footy than the wing/HFF area if possible. Looking into the crowd and it being on the members wing and the down field decision was quick that is all correct. Whatever Kossie did was late BUT to compare it with the result and affect on the game to Smith and opposition in the other two charges is miles apart. Yes it could have been much worse BUT IT WASNT. Smith got up immediately and indicated he was fine AS he was not hit in the head but a solid bump to the shoulder area was delivered. The ridiculous "potential to cause" damage inclusion should be irrelevant as the RESULT was no injury or damage and no time was lost plus a half hearted skirmish which indicates player reaction was over in about 5/10 seconds. Hardly earth shattering. TBH there weren't enough Dogs fans there to cause more than a light boo afterwards when Kossie continued to slaughter them on the field at every opportunity. No retaliation was ever apparent either. So in footy terms what is this charge about? Really it is a very poor attempt to bump a player and is slightly late by a very small player who tried with all his might ( jumping off the ground accentuates his actions but if he didn't the bump would have been a waste of time at his height). No damage done free downfield all clear goal ball back to centre and play on. The umpire has in the heat of action reported Kossie but when it is assessed after its really a mountain out of a molehill. Christian has agreed but he is also saying it's the look not the result. NO RESULT to worry about !! no damage no injury the AFL want it both ways at times but when it suits tries to pin it on the attempt and it's graded as high when clearly Smith got up in record time indicating thst it has mo more hurting him than about 300 bumps in the game. If we judged all cases in law on attempts we would have more people in prisons than outside in some cities in the world. A fine msybe but TWO matches vs the other charges is OTT. I witnessed the Patrick Cripps incident last year that he pinched the Brownlow by default from 50m above in the stand right in front of me was correct in 2 matches as he chose to from on bump and deliberately ran about 5 metres to do it. Plus he is 100kg and counting. The other case is Rioli got off last year in Round 1 then this is similar to that. Melb should appeal on all grounds to get off not just lower the charge to one. The only issue is the lateness and jumping action of Kossie but how is he going to deliver any tackle or retarding action at his height ? I am staggered at the reaction that Kossie should get 2 matches where a fine for action snd result is more fitting compared to the crude attempts and results of the other events in Round1. PS I am not expecting whole hearted support but really think about The whole issue and the AFL.

The irony is now we have a chance to create some depth out of learnings from 2022. Different attitude with 3 missing and not obviously fit enough and Salem who clearly hadn't done the vote season that Jack and Stephan have. Fritta IMO could play with another week's training but Salo needs at least 2 good Casey games ( practice game counts) to be ready based on last season. Lets see if our 2021 buy in is back in 2023 because if it is then despite our replacements we will be in good shape with 20 plus really good AFL stars who can get support from the new boys. PS Would have thought that JVR on this night might have been an inspired sub selection to add to the forward line even if Tmac is forced to the backline. We know what Melky brings but I think it's more important for our 2023 and development to try JVR and not stall his career when like Chandler all things in training show he deserves this opportunity. Secretly JVR must be musing what Laurie has done ahead of him to get the nod. Maybe it's Laurie time to test him. The great Greg Wells was promoted on ordinary form in the second last round vs Carlton and ended up kicking 4 goals from the pocket yo beat the premiers Carlton 6 weeks prior to thief triumph I think. Of course it might just be a simple thing as team balance for Bailey who we all hope ".... the day" as do Judd does also.

The tickets are in your phone for scanning. Yes Many like the paper trail but really it's old hat!!
-
Go use the membership card you were offered to choose but have obviously ignored. How many chances do you want when change is available.

Does Kade make the grade, or will it be Chandlermonium

How come we looked good as a team vs Tigers with the very players in McVee Chandler Laurie that could have been tried last year. Admittedly McVee has improved markedly but we looked good without Viney Fritsch and Salem. Would have bought more vigour than some of the banged up and tired players in the second half. Goody didn't even use the sub for heavens sake. SC and Goody especially wanted to win b to b with the same 23 again!! Something you can't do and some players were never placed on the edge for their position and asked to improve their form. Interesting now that we have no choice and our hands are tied but the Grundy and Hunter recruiting is a great addition, let the role players who are fit now support the stars. There'is no delusion it's real tonight we are a better team in positivity and spirit and health six months on. Much of the negativity and excuse was around due to no player/s developing during 2022. You need 3 changes each year to improve a team so we need 6 by seasons end to make up for the inaction last year. Too much concentration on what some guys maybe haven't got than what they bring to the table to support the other 20 who are all AFL stars and premiership players. Talk about rubbish let's get some facts straight and four quarters played by fit and hungry competitors. That's not saying none of our boys didn't try either all gave of their best but circs didn't allow us to beat the odds with an injured tires group. -
Agree Viper we were 5 th in attendances in2022 not far off a million but Beard says only because of Pies Tigers and Blues fans!!!
-
Get real wake up and start thinking !!
-
Since when have you ever not needed a ticket to scan or a card at the gate.?? I suspect you have not been to the G for a long time!!
-
Pies Cats Tigers Blues fans pay the same price probably more !!!!
-
What a ridiculous post by Azz and Lord Travis. When both Thursday and Friday night are sellouts !!! Hasnt worried Tigers Blues Pies and Cats fans. Why should it worry US? Please don't defend our fans. They have had 6 mths to work out transport anomalies. You either want to go or don't. Easier to travel any way on Sat. night. As for WCW and pensioner on Thursday comment for last year. Same response Had 6 mths to save for purchase of Mship ticket or ticket to the game. The longer we analyse the issues for non attendance the weaker the excuses become for our fans as it doesn't affect other Clubs fans. The technology has ena bled the Mship tickets to be scanned at the gates now so no excuses there either, A bit of realism and club loyalty is what we need occasionally.

Tmac might well go back also .

You are aware that patrons don't need to prebuy Seats any more in GA areas. Also it's different in MCC I believe although $10 is being charged to each member I believe for a reserved seat. So you don't know how many MFC members have switched back to the membership card for entry. This was the big point made by MFC members especially aged ones against going last year. Yes Doggies are not good at MCG so 10,000 might be their numbers. Why with all the talent they have is that? Really did it matter whether it was a Semi or elimination Final. MCC members are not vocal generally do smarten op your mob please. I have sat there Previously toCovid. We are disadvantaged by The NT Game each year you don't mention that.
