  1. Roos actually played him on back flank and Buckley and his Msnager Alec McDonakd I think said he was A 2 way runner!! Events have shown Roosy was correct and Jeremy has got his wish to play with Pies He was not very forthcoming in his desire to leave us snd I thought he did it a bit by stealth!
  2. The 26 minus Pruess are our best players Yes some are not A Graders but most are B or above. ANB AVB Oscar Frosty Spargs Weed Hunty Garlett Fritsch KK are fine yes with some faults but all are hard nuts who give their all. What is needed is all of them to improve as you said but I don't believe we can't win a flag with any of them in the team. Most in form are automatic selections and Fritta is in the other group I reckon. All players listed are capable of improving so let's see the results.
  3. All good points made by "Weed lovers"! we all knew what the " Hogan type role " is and that's to kick about 2 goals per game. What Sam brings is a more traditional role with some surety in marking leading and bringing the ball to the ground fir our other forwards preferably crumbers. Also a small diminishing hopefully ruck assistance occasionally to Gawny and Pruess if and when he gets his chance. Sam also can mark around the ground not necessarily as good as Hoges. The big difference will be not that Sam May kick more goals in his career than Jesse but he craves and prospers on a big stage (ie big games and finals) whereas Hoges was all lost and bothered vs the big clubs and games hence the about 1 goal per game ave in blockbusters and finals when you need hiM to stand up. Assustance in goals will come from Tommy Mac 50/60 Smithy 30/35 Milkshake 30 Trac 30 (if accuracy more maybe) ANB 25 easy goals AVB 20 tough goals Pruess anD Maxy 25 marking/kicking goals. Clarry/Angus resting 20 plus depending upon time up forward. and crumbers Spargs Jeffy Hannan And say Chandler/Bedford Hunty 35 or more total. Versatile players like wingers and other mids Stretch Jack V Jonesy Salem will also feature. The backline will be meaner as the season goes on with May and Lever finding their feet and a lot tougher hopefully without suspensions. So Sam needs to play his role some days a lazy 2 and others will get 3 or 4 because of his superb kicking. Good base to structure enough wins for a Top4 position to launch our flag attempt.!
  4. Received all 3 tickets for Dons Tigers and Pies games from MCC for Rounds 3 6 and 12. Now transport on the Friday 5th is next hurdle as Richmond station closed to Dand Cranbourne Packenham Frankston and Sandringham lines.
  5. Sorry DS I don't agree. Good and all that Maxy was his best asset is his rucking work for the team That he goes back or forward snd takes marks match saving or winning is thankfully in addition to his major midfield role and we should pray every night that we don't lose him fir any extended streak of games.
  6. I recollect that night it was just as much about our delivery and skill (Jesse was limping) on the forward line that cost us as the umpires. We had approx 20 more entries into the For 50. Thise four final marks by Port along the Members side absolutely signalled our submission. The boys tried so hard but skill (and pressure) and lack of conversion killed our hopes. Later in the year the Swans game was very similar and I thought after that we had blown our chances of finals. No as our penultimate 4 games proved we were worthy of finals ironically without Jesse who again was injured. Those wins go with the Geelong 2015 Hawks 2016 Adelaide 2017 also Jesse less which makes us confident that the future is in good hands on the forward line.
  7. I would have thought the usual end of season memories of some team efforts highlights and positives but when we have finished out of Finals tantilisingly close (for a third year in a row)there are more lessons to consider WHY and examine what is needed to take the next step to serious flag contender from a solid but really unspectacular team that lacks X factor pace and aggression and still forward power to convert opportunities. And please don't expect Daisy to solve any of those problems next year when she returns.
  8. My point which you seem not too get DV8 is that we have moved on from these soft efforts and therefore we don't keep bringing up about it. You seem to want to keep bringing it up to somehow believe it will ensure we don't go back. Forget the old past (as Roosy found was hard for some) but it's irrelevant completely from 2016 as we started our real development as a serious team.
  9. Sorry DV8 my point is why burden the current group with what happened when the pre 2016 were not good enough. Its not relevant to them that opposition sides relished playing the unprepared and beleaguered Demons and these are memories we want to put firmly behind us as each season goes by. Roosy found it hard early on to get the fear out of players of errors and the sins built up over nearly a dismal decade.
  10. Are we talking about the pre 2016 Dees or our present list? We must be careful to not keep comparing this group with the all too frequent failures of yesteryear. IE look forward not back!
  11. Thanks fir clarifying D11 the bland statement of injured misrepresents that Pruess May miss R1 but be ok for Casey practice or R2 fir AFL, ie not long term!
  12. About Decision No 500 of common sense and good policy from the FD and Club since 2014 sending a replacement when clearly miles in legs and competitive training the order of the day. Thats why on the very rare occasion we think the Club may get it wrong we can easily live with it with this record of competence. PS 499 was challenging for Stevie May, at Tribunal but not perhaps the best effort legally I've ever seen. PS Maxie as always looks the part but he looks shorter than Witts!!
  13. Rookie List possible Depending upon how last half of year goes. Hope he can get through as I really feel he has improved since mid-season 2018. Deserves a break of luck.
  14. Listened to all interviews Pert was again clear and visioned for the future on the admin training social complex. He realises his role in that he has been chosen to lead and deliver as his mission for the Club and he has a great sense of our history and what a legacy it will leave us. Yarra Park now looks way off but dont rule it out but whatever and whenever in the next half decade in our immediate window of opportunity I have no doubt we will be able to charge our glasses in a social location of our own. Is it any wonder his Experience with the Pies leads him to state that the Facility will be achieved, along by that time 70,000 members will also. He can't absolutely guarantee delivery of that long awaited 13th flag and that will be The real legacy of Jackson Roos and Goodwin. Its obvious he was the perfect CEO for us and despite the mischief and some blame that the Woods created about him he had run his race there. We also are now moving in to an era that we have committed concerned and extra passionate old and new fans ready for the spoils hopefully achieved that since 2014 have most meticulously been planned.
  15. More likely from Texas or where Cox came from!
  16. Place in the Rookie list fir 2020 unless he stars in late 2019.
  17. Christian as usual is trying to muscle his way into 2019. Must appeal on the medium impact ruling. I f Mummy can get off then so can Maysie.
  18. Maybe go to VFL website or NEAFLE or Casey Demons websites .
  19. My reply is in the Round 6 Melb vs Bulldogs thread DV8. Sorry for that placement.
  20. Sorry DV8 but I am getting the impression that you need a private secretary to update your calendar of viewing. I have Fox snd of course no such problems exist, but I live in Brisbane and Mate is the Bible on Footy for 7. Plus recording is also part of my viewing if I can't see live. I do frequent the Lions games as a Gabba Trust member when not in Melb where I can use recipricol rights to enjoy the Dees in main games at the G. (Sorry that means I have access to the players and see them run out and say goodbye after wins!) It is going to be harder than ever to get players to acknowledge our fans and importantly the kids if the crowds on the Northern side increase as our membership rises. Peter Jackson has trumpeted that the whole Northern side of the ground should be full of Demons fans (40,000 plus) to give us an edge at the G. I do have a MFC Members ticket with GFG which a friend uses and actually stands up in the outer over near you and claim my rights for finals tickets etc. Good luck in your aims I would love to see the Dees also take over the Outer!
  21. Thanks Saty good to hear your comment. As they say "It will be all right on the night!!" Hasn't changed my optisim for a stellar season and can't wait to see the Dees at the Cattery for a good old fashioned contest in a developing rivalry all of which helps build a smaller Club into a potential major player in the future.
  22. DV8 It's on the AFLW part of the AFL website. Two of the Sat games one twilight or arvo and the other the night game have bee on all season on Ch 7 but lately off 7 to mate or other station. Club also give details in the mid week prior to the next round should be there also. On Free to Air next Sat vs Crows.BTW.
  23. My understanding is that Goody gave up on that plan for the extra two behind the ball about half way into last year. Cant believe players can be so inflexible !(or selfish) If they aren't mentally right about this then let them learn at Casey. BTW what did they do before Goody invented this move? Start on the forward line obviously. Please if this is one of our real worries we have got problems. Send them on a Camp to get their heads in the right place!!! Players don't dictate rules or positions in the game and definitely not in this Demons era of success.
  24. Lots of players go at least to the Army area maybe write to the Club and ask them to come over. With more members some will be in the "Outer" so a gentle reminder would be suitable. Good luck!
