The fact remains is that all that was offered was far too soon for Gus. Perhaps it should have concluded at the time with the. Moment let us know if you are ready or change your mind. No hurry or pressure. And that’s not bring critical to any one as we all know and handle grief completely differently. That’s why an open answer covered all bases. Be interesting to see if Gus accepts the AFL invite to the motorcade of retirees at the Finals?

Different sort of player actually. More complete and no doubt an upgrade on Lachie and Jack
-
Many layers not players sorry
-
Who will we get as a replacement? Think through the many players in this move. Jack has already indicated NO according to advice. Anymmore suspicions? Maybe that the sun will come up tomorrow morning?

Yes CF never let a good story etc. What about his injuries his fitness his season prep etc. All major reasons why Clarry is not at his top but you never mentioned ONE. Shame on you. Consistent with some of your posts which are generally unbalanced and quite hurtful on occasions.

Sue you might never make a change if you always wanted someone better. You have to take a chance in selection and can’t make changes in life. Where there is will or a way. Kynan needs games give him a chance. Good for experience or get Jeffo in and make a positional change or two.

With fans thinking like that is it any wonder they drop off. By 10,000 plus once we lose badly. I was at that game and really we ran out of puff after 3/4 time plus it was revealed Maxy played under duress, Spargo was never fit and Billing’s got no kicks as the Sub. If you rationalise that form and Sydney’s following wins in a row then it was not such a bad performance. Thstswhy I would never give up for the 4,or 8 as a result like that. Teams lose and reasons can explain that in more depth thought and a lot more faith for your team.

“The no one better “ argument never stands up as long as you have a player available. Again very iffy saying just for his health IMO.

Good points which clarify why Club not there. On that point should not be an issue for anyone. thanks Ollie. PS. I have been OS in USA/Canada and not completely over all the very recent Trac stuff due to time/limits of info I have looked up on phone on trip.

I disagreed with your baking of Clarry for being unprofessional about his fitness this year. That was clear and obvious. I outlined how his efforts IMO do not represent him in that light. Thsts the issue. But let’s hope it is all for the better of Clarry now and for a bumper return next year when we again see him at his top winning games again for us.

You are not understanding the totality of Clarries issues from the start. I thought most fans understood his mental physical and fitness challenges when it all came out during his return in pre season. You have just called Clarry unprofessional when he made every effort by himself to prepare for the year. He was not under Club control but training with other support and doing vast amounts of running. Plenty of film/photos were featured during this time. Eventually he came back and started his Club pre season but was clearly underdone although we hoped he would get better game by game. Yes he has/ had done some unprofessional things but not his attempt to become fit for the season. That is totally not fair and he should be lauded for the effort/s he has tried this season. Also the other injuries that have surfaced have impounded the pressure on his fitness levels. I think some / many/ few were surprised when he was selected from Round 1 vs Sydney. Not sure that was the wisest move for the long term season plan really. Lets just learn from it all that Clarry is in a much greater space now and give home time now to concentrate on ridding himself of those injuries and when able commence a Clubprogram pre season during the off season. And that we will see the real Clarry again in the top echelon next season in the mid field.

And Jefferson please.
-
Please ask our Coach about the Sub rule. He is one of the few who totally misunderstands it relating back to last season.
-
????? Less of a queue where ??? We want him !!!
-
Definitely get him Dimma not a fan apparently.
-
Who cares we need forwards not half backs.
-
At first it was said that it was Trac who wanted to stay out / return to the field. Trac indicated this himself. I think we should also be aware of the extreme pressures that his family are/ would be placing on the Club. Apparently no one visited him in the first 10/11 days and also if anyone’s the hospital photos of the first 4/5 days no one else would have got any where near Trac because he was surrounded completely.

To not make changes ignores the fact that we are not getting any better. The Club cannot afford to play this way and continue to bore our fans. Your defence is one of the most listless options I have heard. Any real supporter can see the players are a shadow of themselves and new young ones are getting the skill and flair coached out of their game. Thats why we can’t provide a star or Xfactor with skill to win the close games. We don’t play natural football we play a contrived brand that resists individuals and their skills once the pressure is on to deliver.

He is too slow and will keep a young mid draftee off our list.

Go set up a Go Fund Me for Harley DD as in about 5 years you will have enough to recruit him. I am OS at the moment so will bring a few lazy pesos to kick it along!!

Well said.

If you didn’t suspect that Clarry had some issues this year on the field with fitness and injury you could easily fill the Carlton fitness job nowAndrew Russell has left. Please don’t play the innocent or naive it just isn’t smart!
-
Here here a few smart arses should look at themselves in the mirror for the cheap shots ( they have known all along his fitness and injury problems). Just remember not to look too long as the mirror might crack!!

“ bayside “ is nearer Cranbourne and to say Fitzroy or Moonee Ponds are “ all the way out” is as ridiculous as calling it a “hike”. Both those players have been recruited to the Club and won a flag so their domestic location is not the Clubs fault but their choice as we had Casey set up already. We all know that not all employees live adjacent to their work premises so let’s not overplay this. BTW do you think all the Hawks players are going to live in Dingley now once their cathedral is built. Not likely. We all know WCW and her views on Casey so she’ll always add her thrippence worth to this argument. Notice deafening silence also on this post other than Casey views!! Interesting !!

Let’s take each person one by one. Each are entitled to be judged as individuals. Not a couple. Perty gets a good tick All that he has said ( except the base and we know the progress on that is not our fault. ) The flag and 5 plus seasons of improvement and consolidation, our membership plus the financial situation never been near what we are in finances are pluses. Kate has seemed of the last 1/2/3 years to be accepting of our fall backwards on the field and is unabashedly a Goody supporter. This is now a true test for her and the FD plus coaches plus Board on how they handle the strategy of our present situation. Action and leadership is needed to stir the pot and revive our on field game plans and refresh the staleness in many on our list.
