We will ( as Perty said last week) break our all time record this year of 52,000 odd before July 31 close of totals. Dr Drake Your prediction is based on your own assumption thst Angus is set yo play as a winger for the rest of his career. He has embraced his move snd team role as a professional athlete should. And guess what if he happens to be on that Dias in September with a medal around his neck your prediction will go out the window. I would say that he is fulfilling a team role of extreme importance where necessary but this won't necessarily be a career long move as we have Rosman and now Kye Declese in the wings. So who else is trade bait you can move on in your Fantasy list management?

All that is missing from DT's photo in his white uniform looking like Eagles Gov was a WC guernsey. His very slightly overweight physique plus his highlights reel marking and interception plus quick movement if the ball all looked so Guv I reckon we have a real salt of the earth defender in the making. Maybe the boys can nickname Daniel "Gov" in honour! Also the very positive reviews from a local or two and DD reflect his character and ability plus potential for his age to date. Another potential future rising star ( with an asterisk) JT and FD looks as though they have nailed another gem.

ANB and Tmac have virtually reinvented themselves ( as has Hunty) from the 2018 or prior versions. Just shows that along with Coaches patience and understanding is required at all levels within AFL Clubland. I believe the selflessness factor plus the maturity and feel good role playing being just as important as starring ( and maybe a few slightly bruised egos occurring early days ) has enabled all of our players to believe their importance is crucial also so don't let the team down! Its taken years since this seemingly missing intangible factor was discovered during the 2020 and this season and as all have remarked it's the glue binding the rest of our plus factors of some very elite ability, frustration of lack of success a natural desire to improve and greater motivation in the coaching plus other factors like training at Casey our fitness and good old genuine Lady Luck with injuries so far our hero. Team Demons2021 is a train ride still "work in progression" but it's travelling nicely and it's still got plenty of room for more travellers until the journey is completed.

Wow thanks GOTO by tomorrow night when we run out onto Giants Stadium there is the probability we will have passed 50,000 members for the second time in history. Perty last week predicted we would break our membership record this year ( have until July31 ) and again he appears to read the tea leaves well. It has not been easy in 2021 as Covid conditions in ticketing and public acceptance have cut deep IMO on our Melb home crowds by about 20% I estimate. This is despite a 66 year record of 9 wins in a row and unlevelled hopes of the solidarity and substance of our football in the first half of 2021. This does not appear to be a false dawn for this year next year or maybe 4/5 years as I can never ever remember talk of 6,7,8 or even 9 players in discussions about All Australian team recognition. And the oldest is Maxy with a host of mid and young 20 year olds genuinely reaching for that AA star. Naturally with a coaching setup in 2021 featuring Choco Ooze Stafford and Chappy with Goody in his fifth season overseeing it all this talent plus the role players and developing stars I have got to say it's no wonder a very fine team ethos has developed which gives us goals per game along with the elite pressure we bring each round. The fitness levels created by Burgo must not be underestimated also as we genuinely look fresher than our opponents in the second half of games. I think that there will be a few Demon fans left ruing not signing up and risking not being there when it matters in September for something that us old Baby Boomers can only remember part of some of the days of our Glory years (1955 to 1964) . Dont miss out Dees fans it won't be easy to snatch a ticket We don't even know whether the G will be at full capacity on those September days!! I have my GF guarantee membership but taking nothing for granted as our journey no matter what happens in the next 120 days looks far more promising than getting overseas for my next big trip for at least 2/3 years. I am tearing up already and can hardly see my "I phone" just thinking of what might be in store for the mighty Dees in 2021 and the future. Its going to be either a Grand Old Flag still or even better a brand new bloody beautiful Grand New Flag to tear up 57 or more years of pent up emotion in buckets in these ever challenging Covid times. Please don't you miss out !!! Oh and instead of storing up bulk on toilet paper a far more necessary item might for the next half decade be boxes and boxes of tissues for the inevitable reaction each success will undoubtedly bring!

Looking at Daniel 's highlights There's no doubt he looks like Jeremy McGovern clone, His delightfully casual but so cool and composed marking plus peeling off with an elite disposal without any delay have got Gov written all over him. I loved Harrison Perry's highlights from Draft Day 1 and have had to be patient up to now for Harry to get his chance. He has improved with every game so far and looks every bit as good as I hoped Have earmarked Petty as a KPD since then. Daniel Turner looks like another quick learner and even the slightly overweight bit is Jeremy Gov to a tee. Looks a natural and if I was Marty Hore my chsnce is well under threat. Also he is 194cm now taller than listed apparently. Plays and marks tall looking at the highlights. Welcome to our new Defender to join our elite group already developing . Will also allow Declase to play mid /wing maybe or up forward as a pinch hitter. Lot to like about these 2 selections and JT May have nailed another 2 gems from his kitbag. Won't die wondering I dont think.

That's not the Blockbuster game in 2020 that we get each 2 years now. That's why we retained the 2 big games Anzac Eve and QB again. M9 wrong on 2 counts Weid 2 grabbed the mark just before 1/4 time vs Cats. Is consistently 2 grabbing and not always retaining the ball. And BBB has 4 year contract so he's not going any where. He only needs a run at it also to change fortunes. Between the 2 we should come up with a very useful KP Full forward in the second half if the season.
