2022 Injury List
TODAY being the operative word. Next time it might be different!!

Farewell Luke Jackson
You are wrong BBP snd are just too stubborn to sdmit LJ's role in the 3rd quarter. That was the game winning period and crucial time. Last quarter just about margin. Like fans 2/3 years ago " we won't miss Clarry or Trac if we clear them for draft picks" !!!!!! Some delusional D/Lers wanted this !! The brain power of denial is sad and ridiculous to even contemplate this logic. Dogga is a generational player who contributes team wise and individually superbly for his team and would be missed greatly if he leaves.

Low Attendance
Your post is way off mark and also a previous response by KD GIRL as well. Increasing crowds that you say is laughable when you use 2019 as the guide!! We won 5 games then. And what proof have you that it takes 6 months for crowds to increase after a premiership? In other words from 2021 we have to wait 6 mths is April 2022 !!! No all the reasons for weak excuses by Dees fans in this forum are just a reason why we may never reach our potential to challenge the BIG Clubs snd if/when we are not in the top or successful won't one day have a Club to barrack for. To think it was only 2013/4 that we won 2 games and our complacent self satisfied fans are critical now we are good is almost disrespectable to the heroes that have lifted us up where we are today. Most of the reasons are just lazy, negative snd selfish. Standard of games umpiring ticketing ( most don't even know the system properly) despite the Club info spoiling them. The Club has 62,000 members and many are so precious it's just heartbreaking reading adults reacting like petulant 5 yo's when they try and justify reasons not to come. Keep your money the Club needs bums on seats It's a winter game always has been the transport system is there use it to your advantage. In reply to KATRINA DEE GIRL you couldn't even put your reply points with correct no's using letters deliberately to confuse with your mostly confusing mis information. And when fans sign off with a self satisfied cv of their support it's just another defence mechanism to feel justified to criticise in this forum. Just for your info KFG I am a 57 year consecutive member went for 27 consecutive years 1965 to 1992 to all VFL games each season before moving interstate. I did not comeback to Victoria even for some Christmases till the 2000's and since 2012 have averaged 5 home games snd the Brisbane fixtures each season, giving to raffles and the win each game find for the Club. Hsve been to the 2018 Finals in Melb (in the middle of cancer treatment ) from interstate and was in a great lifetime experience at the 2021 premiership win in Perth after 14 days " quarantining" in SA. Have been in2022 so far to the Rounds vs Dogs Bombers Tigers Swans and on Monday to Pies plus vs Suns in Round 2 at Metricon. Also to our party in Dec to celebrate our magnificent Flag! So Please don't assume because you quoted "selected figures " and are so insecure to query my loyalty and passion that that makes your post accurate and very authoritative as a result. So KDG get down from your high horse ( if it's not too far for you to jump down ) and don't make wild guesses snd accusations about my love for the Dees. I am not answering some of your points one by one as you obviously can't understand most of them. Reread them maybe snd open your judgement to their meaning.

Tigers did not win a flag last year that's the point about criticism of the Dees crowds. Very little footy in 2021 including Finals and Flag and we won the Flag and our crowds are down or poor. Don't worry about other Clubs just worry about Dees.!!

You conveniently forget we have (1)JUST WON a 57 year drought braking premiership (2) had a 10-0 winning opening run including near record 17 winning streak!! (3) we have about 10,000 more members and no real increase to show. (4) Some of the excuses are seriously pathetic about non attendance . (5) Hawthorn is no measuring Stick and it rained last Sunday! (6) we are about same as Essendon who have most games at Marvel a lower drawing ground usually and who are having nearly worst year yet! (7) I always are amused when this post is critical of our crowds you get individual posters immediately trying to defend themselves in various comical and often labouring ways. They are feeling so guilty IMO and have forgotten about how they didn't have a choice for nearly 2 years to go!!! So how much does it mean to them really ?? (8)Is life meant to be a self imposed lockdown because it's not the weekend? (9) The players as Trac said need supporters to create atmosphere and as a reward for excellence in performance deserve our support. (10) Get over it Sat 2pm start was back in the VFL and is not our lifestyle necessarily any more. I am over the piffling excuses just GO to the games and enjoy ! Our home crowds should not be below 30,000 and for Other Vic Club matchups games not below 40,000, snd blockbusters 50,000 To 70,000. Don't worry about other Clubs they didn't win the flag last year ! We are 10,000 missing fans from each home game at least. in 2018 we played Swans and drew 52,000 to a 3.20 game on a Sunday. Looking forward to excuses and reactions !!

Usual negative comment OD, some things never change. Could be No 1 vs No 2 on ladder!!!

TEAMS: Rd 12 vs Sydney
Get off Tmac's back DD He has been our best tall forward this year and in good firm prior to injury. Just hope he comes back well after injury that's all .
-
CHANGES: Rd 12 vs Sydney
Different players have found defending far more easy than playing in attack. Something about playing the ball in front of you all the time and not having to turn around often. Well worth a try.

Gawny on Channel 7
Well it's wrong according to the vibes on web this morning and social media oh and importantly the Coach.
-
Farewell Sam Weideman
Absolutely OB I have said this before and get him moving around the ground not leave home one on one or in a pack.
-
CASEY: Rd 10 vs Frankston
A lot with Trac bring crook and why do some of us go overboard with some being managed ? Seems some want it for no real reason just because other Clubs do it! Was the worst competitive team named and far more worse when May and McDonald were not on the ground. Think Bedford should stay as he is looking promising.

Farewell Sam Weideman
It pains me to admit but for once you are right DS

Farewell Luke Jackson
If that's your opinion WD then why haven't you dropped Dogga in any of your missing Team Selections that have disappeared. Obviously you haven't watched the GF the North game in Tas and at least 2/3 other games when Jacko has been the start of our comeback to win games. Oh and his 2 blinders vs West Coast. Yes LJ could play CHF for a role in running around the forward line but not all day. He is best released and is a match winner on the ruck/mid role. He needs to start solving his career issues ( if he has decided or not) and magically his good form will return. Remember the D/Lers who wanted to clear Clarry Trac and others when they were not happy where the Club was well this is the same The grass in the draft is always greener!! It isn't really only if you get the picks right or you can trade intelligently.

Tasmanian AFL Team
Let's wait and see how they handle the Crises at the moment and how quickly events change AFL May put pressure if finances return to in the red shortly. Hope this doesn't occur by the way.

GAMEDAY: Rd 11 vs Fremantle
Agree well done Melky have a blinder today !

TEAMS: Rd 11 vs Fremantle
After 27 disposals recently what more can he do to satisfy you? You are unrealistic expecting all the wingers to be like Gus and Lingers. Jordan is developing nicely and it's not an issue with him his form at all. He defends as well as attack and his disposal is generally high standard as is his courage and attack on the ball. Perhaps you want 3 goals per game?
-
CASEY: Rd 10 vs Frankston
Buy means BYE DD and the issue is 2 different organisations run the competitions.( as you know) AFL and VFL so it is pure chance one would think if the fixture in VFL took anything into account about the AFL. Draw especially with a " very friendly flexible floating fixture " that sees us off FTA for 5 games in a row vs Dogs Friday night favouritism despite poor early season form.

TEAMS: Rd 11 vs Fremantle
Far too confusing snd with only initials on the categories it is meaningless. All I know is Tmac has hit form with 3 and 4 goals in the last 2 games and Sam kicked 6 as did JVR in the romp vs the crisis ridden Kangaroos "2's" whose best was Dom Tyson and Marty Hore. Both were honest players for our Club and injury did them no favours but seriously should they be near or on our list with players like Bowser and potential in Rosman and Laurie learning their craft at Casey? PS I bet I get a bite from at least ONE D/ler how unlucky Marty was and still should be on our list! Same as if Dean Kent lovers linger in the past He can't even get a game in the upgraded Saints team now! Don't we realise that is why we ( and Saints) are potential premiership teams because the replacements are much better footballers than Tyson Hore and Kent. You can throw in about 100/ 150 footballers of similar standard over our 57 years of pain in a similar bracket. Clint Bartrum was a classic example for instance. Yes better coaching and playing with 6/8 AA may have made some small difference and to be fair I don't believe hardly any of those players left much out on the field either. At the moment Weid is trying like hell to get out of the "almost class " snd he has improved in 2022 so good luck Sam! Belief and confidence are your friend.

TEAMS: Rd 11 vs Fremantle
Jordon has played his best football for the Club in the last 2/3 weeks so really stepping up is a bit rich to ask him after that form.
-
TEAMS: Rd 11 vs Fremantle
The real problem I believe is really DOES SAM have as much faith as the inner sanctum do in himself. Please play him as a third ruck ( on the forward line ) and get him moving around and into the game. He will respond better than if only in the forward pocket or CHF.

System vs Talent: What makes Melbourne so good?
Vineys Final series and this year and his overall improvement have him at near A grade on his output if you look closely at the ball ups, ins and take aways.

TEAMS: Rd 11 vs Fremantle
The reality is ( as binman has said) that Toby has pace PLUS good skills, is smart and a good decision maker, plus is super fit. And this has been building over 3 years and a half, especially the last year and a half as his confidence has also grown. I look at Toby now and he not only has developed as a player but into our system mentally and is ready with self belief to take his chance.when given the opportunity. He is also looking when at Casey above that level and AFL "ready". Baker since bring recruited which championed his leg speed as his point of difference has not despite small numbers of opportunities for about one year longer greatly improved his ball skills ie kicking and disposal especially, nor his natural game awareness to another level ie AFL. That is not saying Bakes does not try any less than Toby or is any less committed to our Club. In addition Sparrow Jordon Kossie Dogga Riv Petty Fritta and Bowser plus Laurie who are all now or have since joining been ready for AFL duties. Most of our other 2020 and 2021 draftees are younger and developing, improving at Casey at their pace given the advantage of time our strength now allows recruits to learn the Melbourne way over 2 or 3 years if necessary. Jordon and Sparrow needed this time and are still in some ways are works in progress and learning more on the journey as all of the above mentioned have). Ultimately it appears that Bakes does not possess the natural ability or footy smarts in spite of a red hot career go and sadly is now looking at having potentially missed his opportunity. He should be the one on the wing replacing Lingers in an ideal world or at least in the 26 named for the match.

Northern Territory Team
Much of the Govt funding is foundation and set up costs. Although it is obvious the AFL would be supporting both Tas and NT each year like it does the GC and GWS. Unfortunately still some Clubs are going to depend upon the AFL to bolster them in some years if they are not prennislly successful. GWS it appears have a good fan base in Canberra and really an amalgamation like in the NRL of Illawarra /Dragons at least half home games seems logical and serves the ACT population all of which are reasonably well heeled. To grow new Clubs the AFL need bums on seats not 30,000 members ( some of which might be Canberra based) and 4,000 turning up at Homebush which is a disaster and AFL should be looking at same as 6,000 for Gold Coast home games. These figures are not sustainable but at least Tas and NT are afl footy based in contrast to Western Sydney and Gold Coast.

Premiership Coach Simon Goodwin extends until 2024
Isn't it a long term view to put $20 mill plus away for future funds? When we recruit we look to the future ( snd the present) by type of players and payment negotiations. Again no detail from you Mach 5 where we are not factoring in our future. If it's our Training/Admin base than we are being delayed by the fact that it is in the State Govt hands. Put up ( with examples) of lack of foresight OR shut up as you only make yourself look ignorant and panicky in decision making.
