Farewell Kye Turner
The "next full forward " who nearly out marked Maxy was MJ if you look. Kye was out of position but Jeffer was spot on only at the back of the pack. That's his skill and number whatever top wood/iron it is in golf ie. marking. Kyle seems very competent also but MJ may well be very very special and JVR relegate to CHF in the future plan if our forward line.

What about loose on the backline shuring up our defence?

Contract Extension for Blake Howes
Yes but can Blake do something when and how he gets the ball ? I think he is a top prospect and despite his physical development he may need another pre season to really stand up to AFL style pressure. Whether he debuts as 23 Rd man which now has no special relevance to injury it will be well longed for as his ability and versatility ( other than his pace and energy as a bonus) are universally recognised. A contract extension now makes perfect sense and he and JVR are setting the pace for our 2021 draft recruits and are well deserved extensions at this stage Who will of the 2021 drafters or young prospects will be next to extend their term? Taj, AMW, or Judd or maybe Deakyn?

Not AFL
Rab that's like saying if you don't have events like the disgrace on Capitol Hill you don't get President's like Donald Trump. You surely can't claim Sat nights response to an A League decision is just a result of the oozing passion of a football ( soccer) mad crowd and should be tolerated as it's in bred in the sport and part of its culture. And furthermore if you can't or don't like the AFL crowds level of passion please take yourself back to the mother country (or Europe ) and relive the next red blooded football created war which ends up being a blot on society to fans and especially children who genuinely love the sport. Your dose of "Demon Spirit" seems vastly opaque and in need of a recharge.

New MCC president
You "suspect" and are "not sure" Gouga so your comment wouldn't even pass the "Pub Test" let alone make it as evidence in a local court of law. Re read your post Gouga and you are actually saying if you live in a cottage snd a two story mansion is next door you are querying if it's any point in getting to know your neighbour unless he gives you a handsome monetary gift or contributes with a fancy brick fence between your properties. Yes times have changed but the 20,000 plus MCC members who barrack for the Dees are our biggest advantage and especially those with a MCC/MFC membership. Which of the below would you like to approach the MCC Chairman about if you were Kate Roffey? 1. Training/Admin facilities base in the revamped Shane Warne Stand in 2027? 2. Permission for use of the MCG to replace Goschs Paddock as our city based facility each week for pre and in season training sessions. 3. A seasonal $5 mill donation to MFC. 4. Each Of the 66,000 MFC members have a free one day per year experience in the MCC members reserve on a day to suit themselves including free eats and open bar package of four hours. 5. MCC donate an annual trophy for one of our players based on best MCC values Sorry for the cynicism but that's about the level of contribution your veiled post made to the topic. Good luck to Fred Oldfield in his position and let's just ensure as a start our respective Clubs doors are open to talk when and where cooperative views or plans strengthen the MCC/MCG or Clubs objectives. This In the unlikely happening of brown paper cash bags being left in our change rooms or not!

TRAINING: Friday 16th December 2022
Like Tracs basketball Disco's discoing Jack V trying to run through brick walls Clarry knocking on hairdressers doors after hours to get plenty of product for his new Little Pony style hair arrangement. Maysie entrecoting down Grenville St and new boy Ollie Sestan sleepwalking back to Schoolies on the GC to complete his full week there. What a diverse group of champion trainers we have setting the standards for all the group in 2023. PS Hibbo is also practising his 100m dash with a large cup in hand and a full beer can in the other!!

TRAINING: Friday 16th December 2022
And if players aren't 100% that Goody and Selectors don't select them. No more great first halves and below par slow defensive save our lives second half of athletes that are trying their hearts out but can't get into top gear to overrun the opposition.

TRAINING: Friday 16th December 2022
Great observation DL snd I just reckon that no Matter how slight/big he is he will still clunk from Day 1. It's in his DNA and maybe get a go earlier than is expected depending upon injuries and form. Howes exciting it would be to have JVR and MJ on the forward line one day vs Kangas ? Add Howes also just for fun!!

TRAINING: Wednesday 14th December 2022
Yes it's MJ on the right and I reckon Kye Turner to the left. Tough gig when you have to out mark Maxy in your first few training practice dates. Why isn't Brodie and say Tmac challenging the Skip and Champ.? Ome comment I will make is that MJ is never going to die wondering in a marking comp. As we saw in his highlights he an come from a few deep snd grab a screamer! I reckon he should concentrate on being in front of the pack but maybe he also can come in from the side. All I know is that he can mark snd that will get him a long way if he can clunk a few with superior judgement. He was right there if Maxy didn't mark it remember so he is not far off at this stage of his career ie 5 Training sessions. Or was it a fluke? No I prefer to predict we have a special player with a very special skill that could take him a long way in this AFL journey. And the great thing is he is all ours! MFC sign him up for another 2/3 years ASAP. As the great Moonface said ( not his finest hour) on National TV "I like the boy". Overreaction or true?? We'll have to wait and see!

Training Ground?
No so while we have our 2 location training bases all is not lost. The players are not dramatically or physically underprivileged with either facility. If there was a simple answer to the problem of land availability NOW don't you think the Club would have sourced it? We are unique in that for over 150 years the very MCG that enabled us to have a great advantage in our match and other facilities is the same facility that we wish to stand nearby and grief is caused by the land availability issue. Perhaps we should have never sold Bentleigh Club and ( if it was big enough I don't know I never visited there ) that msy be a poor decision which has come back to bite us. Some D/L ers have no idea of how hard the land issue is to solve and it sickens me how casual they voice their opinion almost weekly on this topic. It's a far worse situation if you were Essendon snd had over 6,500 days since their last Finals win, in fact 19 years and counting. We may well have a base chosen or built before their date. It's a decision that can't be rushed and no amount of Board bashing or finger pointing will magically move the progress of this facility. I suggest that some of the more dramatic D/Lers antagonists who are upset with the lack of progress form a group and start being more active and positive on this huge project that seems to have stalled in the State Govt and other stakeholders hands.

TRAINING: Wednesday 14th December 2022
Love the report DEESPICABLE. While I don't agree with a couple of your major statements re Round1 what it says is that we are handling ( as 12345 etc said) Jed (Adams) and Will (Verrall)'very carefully to ensure when they fully recover from their injuries from this season then they both will train as good as possible towards the season opening. Lets Hope Howes and Laurie both get an injury free run pre season. Encouraging reports on Schache Brodee and Lachie H plus JVR who with good pre seasons are virtually 4 fresh recruits and with fully fit and sharp Jakie Salo Gawny Tmac and Rivers maybe last half fade outs will be consigned to 2022 history.

Farewell Kye Turner
D/L provides all of us with a rare chance of learning information but also providing it. However any one who seeks advice should have basic skills of reading the English language snd of eliciting a reply to a question. Both David-Demon and Werribee completely overlooked basic information provided within the first 25 posts in this thread. The fact of KT being a train on player was the key to the thread in the first 5/6 posts and the status of whether he is tied to us was covered initially by myself (albeit briefly) at the bottom of page 1, answering that question. Yes we can sometimes all overlook things like this or similar events in our lives but in a forum it's not a great standard in snout 38 posts on a single subject. DD gave himself an out in his comments but that doesn't change the truth of the fact. Or are we just quick reading over some less important threads such is our lives being so hectic these days? PS I have been guilty before when replying of a similar slip up of not reading the post and ignoring the information. That's completely different to offering a varying or different opinion on a topic of course. My only excuse is age ( over 70) by the way!!! Happy Posting to all though!!

Training Ground?
Not correct. The Board have the majority the of their 4 year Plan succeed including the three Flags, sustained success in all three grades plus membership and corporate records and IMO a very high nearly 30% Junior Membership of the total building for the future. As well as substantial improvement to Casey Fields amenities plus the surface of the oval. Goschs also improved so substantial Govt assistance has been obtained. If Casey was in the 15km circle from MCG it would probably be the Training Ground for good with Admin etc being added and a venue for the AFLW and VFL with a capacity of say 8/10,000 bring formulated. We have never been so well off financially in 164 years and hav come from a basket case a decade ago. Facilities haven't hampered us snd success on the ground is far more important than the MCG location to be chosen ASAP. Before you query the timing of the Plan the record speaks for itself and Roffey is the chosen Board Supremo expected to deliver. Give me a decade of sustained success including multiple Flags in AFL and AFLW snd the Training facility will take care of itself I believe.

The 2023 AFL Fixture
There are 5 games that are money earners plus Lions and early in season Swans should be good also 40,000 plus. Others should be 60,000 to 75,000 vs Pies Blues and Tigers. Remember we still make $500/750,000 (not sure) for NT Alice vs GWS game.
