  1. One of the very few we got rid of who went on to ultimate success. From the implementation of Vic Country Zones to the start of the Draft we were terrible.
  2. Is KRock the old 3GL? or similar? if so the prelim final call would be like Bounce of the ball, Stanley up high, Dangerfield clearly held, play on, knocked forward, great defensive work by Henderson,........goal to Melbourne Bounce of the ball, Stanley up even higher, Selwood clearly held, play on, knocked forward, great defensive work by Bews,........goal to Melbourne. Special Comments : I think the Dees have shot their bolt. Repeat
  3. We wanted to keep Cam so got rid of Jnr, and then Cam walked. We were left with our pants down and egg on our face. PJ said one of the first things he had to do was repair the damage caused by getting rid of Jnr. The mind still boggles.
  4. Are you joking?
  5. I was trying to find a definitive reason why a quality side like the Dogs, 19 points up in a GF, got flogged by the MIGHTY DEMONS. Self believe, fitness and exuberance of youth with younger legs were key factors. Not sure about experienced players not declining until 30. Any occupation that requires quick reflexes does not go seeking people in their late 20s. Still thats not everything, the Bont was so slow in getting to his feet that he was in excellent position to kick his 3rd quarter goal.
  6. It is enormous!!!!! 😄
  7. In what seems like another life I was at a Pies/Tigers game at Vic Park - every time Peter Moore went for a mark, Mark Lee punched him in the back of the head. I also remember Luke Darcy punching Woey? so hard in the back of the head I was surprised his noggin didnt end up on the top deck of Colonial Dome.
  8. True Detective - got half way the 2nd series..... Better Call Saul - I was into Breaking Bad but got nearly to the end; I asked a friend how did it end and they said What do you think?, so I stopped. Ozark - yes. (There is a line in there where the wife says she would like to start a new life in the middle of nowhere, Mullumbimby, which is inland from Byron Bay. Obviously the writer has been out that way) Any comedy or sci fi?
  9. on permanent replay on my computer....
  10. I have had a couple of wines or two but Libba is 29, Treloar is 28, Mcrae is 27, Hunter is 26, Bont is 25, Dunks 24 and Smith just a kid Viney 27, Harmes 26, Tracca 25, Oliver 24, Sparrow just a kid, who else do we run through the middle? Now the Dogs are a quality side and I am trying to understand why we won the way we did. I think you can see the difference in the ages. Libba played like he was 29 and it was a shocker. Treloar played a good game mainly because he kicked 3 goals. The Dogs midfield was too old when they came up against the Dees. Add in Jacko at 20 vs English at 24 or Gawn at 29 vs Martin at 34. Our aged players were mainly down the goal to goal line - BB, TMc, (Gawn)....May (and btw thats why I think we need to use pick 17 for a tall).
  11. If you are a Billy Bob fan, and why not, I assume you have seen Fargo? and any othe r recommendations? Naturally you have seen mathew Mc in True Detective?
  12. Any Killers fans out there? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ey_j7-wIo4U&list=RDMMey_j7-wIo4U&start_radio=1 Great Aussie song. I reckon Brandon could sing Good Old Collinwood Fornever and make it sound bearable.
  13. I thought season 1 was great with all the dynamics (ex partner ex wife etc) but after that... Have you seen Bosch? Great plot but the back story is like watching CFC highlights
  14. I didnt finish season 2, Should i have persevered?
  15. Surrendered? Nope. They just couldnt get the ball, we were the best team this year, It took them 2.5 quarters to get 19 points up and the Dees 10 minutes to get 24 points up. (Don't tell anyone but their mid field is too old).

That is dangerous. You won't have your membership card at the ready to throw down the players race if we drop an early game. 😁 (I think in Balmeys first year we dropped the first 4 games. I was so angry I went into the rooms after game 4 to give them a spray. I saw Todd and Brett lying on the floor, absolutely shot. They would have needed a stretcher to get to the showers. I didn't say a thing. I felt like an absolute human reproductive organ. Mind you some of the crowd were gobbing off.)
  18. I will take a slightly contrarian view in that in those days there were gun full forwards who regularly kicked bags. They hardly exist these days and there seems to be a larger spread of goal kickers - more players have got better at kicking. This may just be poor memory but it seems harder goals are also being kicked. In terms of improvements I think some of our defensive matchups could be improved, Spargo on Stanley, Viney on the Bont and Bowey standing the mark on a long set shot come to mind.
  19. Brent Guerra pinned both arms and drove him into the Colonial Dome concrete
  20. we still have ben brown (the much taller equivalent of Ricky Jackson - you ken not touch him)
  21. If I buy any more merch I will have to build a pool room.
  22. @rumpole Is Bayley Fritsch your favourite player?
  23. The third quarter still brings a tear to the eye. Has anyone seen a different angle to Frittas first goal in the third? Off the boot it looks like it is going through for a point.
  24. What about picnic baskets, knee rugs and a glass to keep your false teeth in overnight
  25. Surely you jest!!!!!! Have the pies come to that?
