  1. Maybe the directive is to make sure it is over 15. Could be because of the howler missed for Cameron (Cats) playing against the Swans in the dying seconds. They don't want the wingers to go at them. Though they probably will. Sook off Geelong.
  2. Well done Dees, turned it around again. Good pressure, kept running, and out-muscled them. Good change by the coaches. Put a stoper on Cunnington, I think it was Brayshaw. Created a hold it in, in the forward area, and rebounded it back in when they punced it out. North gave us some turnovers with poor skills and perceived pressure, after half time. Oliver fights his tag, and gets his kicking game going. Jackson best game to date. Stood up when Maxy struggled. Salem came into the game. Tmac is so flexible. Can play anywhere. Thought Baker did alright. He will be better when his passes go quicker to the free players. Worried about Melksham and ANB, they need to be quicker with decisions and actions. You would think that experienced players would know the pace required! Well done, Kossie and Fritta. Jordon, Jones (director of the mids) solid games. The Trac is hard to stop. Eventually we started getting the clearances. Langdon great game, always beats his opponent, gives a target and runs the ball well. Rivers, Hibbo, May and Lever stood up when needed. Won in the second half, when North fell off the pace they set earlier. Top of the ladder, no losses, we will be hunted now. Back to the G!
  3. Passengers everywhere, pick up your man at least. Get some clearances. Get the ball. Find some space, too much straight kicking, need the angles. C'mon Dees.
  4. We will get plenty of opportunities, so would love to see us be accurate. Defense to continue the intercepts. Plenty of marking and swarm running. Get the ball and control it. Go Dees
  5. Jones as medical sub to get to 301. Use the vets as a sub. Will show leadership from the bench, more then any other player. If he comes on, could have a better understanding of where the game is at and what role to play, than a less experienced player. Get games into the less experienced, even at VFL level. Stable team selections. Winning form, is good form, hard to be deselected. A credit to fitness and biometrics staff, that we have minimal, injuries and player management. A few knocking on the door for a call up. Go Dees.
  6. They should at least inform the public of their teams after the "captains run".
  7. Their defensive structure. Breust got rattled by Grimes. They missed English. West isn't like his dad.
  8. Agree, their system fell apart. No direction on their kicks, fumbles and missed tackles. Won the clearances in the first half then the Tigers got them in the second half. Both of them had trouble scoring. Bont missing the half-time goal. Not hungry enough, and couldn't seize the moment. We cracked them and nearly broke them. Dogs could have ripped them apart. They didn't and we have a chance of being the last one standing at this stage of the season.
  9. Sparrow was very composed, the connection with Weids was great, showed some lovely field passes, needs to nail those snaps for goal. Weids is leading well, taking marks and making his way up the ground. Seemed to get distracted within his thoughts of a play that just happened and then switched off. Good that Jetts was given some time as a negating mid. Still has plenty to offer. Bowey takes a while to get into the game, but then shines. What a good kick he has. Unsure about Harmes, had a great 3rd quarter. Seemed lost in the first half, shouldn't happen at that level. Chandler can play! Majak can mark, gets to the right place, can crash a pack and rucks well. Bedford works hard, has confidence and speed. Rosman did some lovely passes. D. Smith needs a bit more time. Bradke has improved, needs a bit more muscle development.
  10. Oskar Baker is not with the Casey team.
  11. Was wrong about Jones and Melksham, thought they were dropped. They are not playing at Casey. Could a sore/managed player make room for BBB, or will one of Melky or Joness be the medical sub?
  12. All aboard the curse breaker. Departing from berth '65.
  13. A devine conception at Christmas time (preseason preparation), for a miraculous berth in September.
  14. Don't think you are right. It is a supply and demand thing, not a cost and balance arrangement. The big money really comes from the broadcast rights. The viewers don't see or hear the stadiums "carry on". Too expensive ($1 000 and $10 000) and not many go and they lose interest. As a result, the games have no atmosphere. Broadcasters pay less for the rights. Advertising is not as productive and profitable. Just shooting themselves in the foot if they charge that! The same may happen to the crowd (less will go), if the "entertainment" becomes intrusive, and it could be heading that way. It seems they are trying to artificially create atmosphere. It doesn't work for most (possibly ok for juvenile minds). Atmosphere is more intense, when it is spontaneous and natural. Hoping the sponsors will recognise that soon, as I don't like the intrusive and annoying noise, hype and lights. The masses will always dictate the terms. That is why the minority will attempt to manipulate the masses and spin doctors and advertisers get the big bucks. Power belongs to the people, always has, always will. If only we could all be self/independent thinking and not be led down the path of illusions. In other words we own the game, not the corporates.
  15. Jones and Melksham can both have an important role at Casey. They are leaders and would really straighten up the young players. Jones can get back and help with the midfield, and Melksham can help the forward structure. They may enjoy it. Their experience will set up young players for the big stage and both will be waiting in the wings if MFC are injury hit. If form comes back to them, they get a call them up. Be great if they can also play next year in Casey, for the same reason, of giving a bit back. Jonesy, midfield coach and player. Casey has a chance of a grandfinal birth, given their good start to the season and our list.
  16. The days when tested, infected and contagious are all different. Easy to fall between the gaps as the guy from Perth who picked it up in the hotel showed. I assume the medical science people are onto that and wouldn't put the community or the AFL at any risk.
  17. Foxsport is suggesting that the lockup period may finish on Wednesday for North. https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-2021-north-melbourne-round-7-covid19-fixture-news-tasmania-north-melbourne-vs-melbourne/news-story/88c0eee6696bbdc79ab555f0b1d9fba4 It also says all teams will travel on Charted flights. So it a good possibility that we share a flight with them down to Tassie. Hope none of North players have covid! Just being silly, in AFL management I have trust in their decisions!
  18. Saw an interview, where a North player talked from his home. The lock-up is at their own home. So, less time for them to bond and the restrictions of isolation remain difficult for them.
  19. We must be hungry for success. Bring in some new blood, BBB and/or Weids. Part of that hunger includes putting struggling teams to the sword. Hope there are moments in the game that looks like a training drill, so we can create some beautiful and smooth ball movement from back to the forward line. I expect North to give 100% for the entire game. We are now a target for teams to knock us of the pedestal. One game at a time, though the dogs (oops not dogs, but Sydney) in two weeks will be another good test for us. This game could set us up, or create a mental struggle for when we play them (Sydney probably less of a problem). We will be training with a smile again. North will be stressed from the lock up. They really are at rock bottom and being all locked up together may start a bit of a line in the sand discussion and develop some cohesion and selflessness. Beware the wounded beast!
  20. I think Tmac doesn't have to go the wing. He could be a very high half forward. Taking marks near the 50 arc and converting is a great asset, as he works up and down the flanks using his endurance running. Also, giving a marking outlet for the backline kick. A defender would have to follow him, which could cause a bit of confusion in the oppositions system. This would give more space for Fritta and BBB, to lead into, as an uncongested forward area could develop.
  21. I see a few clubs doing this. Dogs for sure, possibly WC, and Tigers, though not when they played us. We must have put too much pressure on that strategy. In our game, I thought when the Tiges got the ball at the stoppage they attempted to go forward, and break the line quickly. Often the outlet is a one or two, out the back, with another running hard a bit laterally to receive the last handball and release ball by foot to leading players or make a switch and change entry angle into the 50.

It is only a joke, though repeated, it is good to be able to laugh at ourselves I think it is much better stereotype than most of the other clubs. Means we are generally, financially stable and enjoy adventure. Humour based on classisms. One of the last bastions of politically incorrect statements allowed.
  23. The tiges need to get a win. If they are any good then it will be a great game. They looked flat against us, with lots of passengers. It won't be, happy training sessions with lots of jokes. They also have one less day to recover than the dogs. Dogs gave GWS a look in, up until the last quarter. Dogs should be favourites. The tigers try and win the easy way. That is with minimal time in control of the ball. They can go quickly when they have it. The rest of the time is like an arm wrestle. Lock it in, get stoppages and force turnovers in dangerous areas. Their system didn't work well against us. We absorbed the pressure, gave some back and repelled from our backline.
