Heard today that the problem is with the manager. He is Western Australian and has no feeling for the dees, therefore would suit both his WA sensibilities and his pay packet to have Jesse move home. Jesse is happy and club is confidant he would stay if it wasn't for the influence of the manager.
anyone hear Mick Malthouse talking on sen a few days ago? He described In his years as coach at Collingwood, of 2 or 3 player managers having way too much influence over players' decisions, for their own advantage not for that of the player or the club.

Just watched the game not knowing the result, what a [censored] waste of 2 hours that was.
I not only wasted those 2 hours but also the time spent getting there and back home!

Not that I am
I hate to start rumours, but I had a chat to Jason Taylor about this, believe MFC have been in contact with every manager of every free agent or decent player who hasn't re signedin in the last two or three years just to check out the situation, may have even spoken to certain managers more than once
Who are the Victorians? Surely it can work the other way, homesick Vic boys wanting to come home.

So you think a 20 year old and his manager are "out thinking" the experienced professional traders and thinkers at the MFC?! That seems unlikely.
Im not saying Hogan is gone, but that we now are requiring he decide now, and we'd only do that if we were OK with him going now, in fact have plans by which we would benefit from it.
Hope you're right

Put's it all into perspective. All the attention around his contract and meanwhile he is dealing with this.

Did anyone hear Finey yesterday morning with Robert Shaw? Wow did he give us a serve! Very, very cross on behalf of us poor old Demons supporters. It was hilarious, doesn't do things by halves that bloke.

Felt uncomfortable, but was sort of barracking for the pies in this one. Failing winning and booting the Hawks out of the 4, the least Collingwood could have done was to inflict season ending injuries on a few of their match winners...

I understand from someone who knows that, for all his footy talent, aggression, determination and love for the club, Viney is no Einstein. No criticism, just that's who he is.
When you think of the captains at successful clubs is intelligence an obvious attribute in those guys? I would say yes.

The team Roos took over wasn't much better than the 1 win 49% Fitzroy team of 1996. The Dees in 2013 were 2 wins and 54% (including a win over a fledgling GWS).
Roos took on a 2013 Melbourne team coming off 11 defeats of over 10 goals, including 6 losses of over 90 points. Half of their season games were 10 goal plus hidings and over a quarter were 90 plus. Two of the losses were 148 points and 128 points.
To put that into perspective, this year Essendon and Brisbane (presently) have had just 2 losses of over 90 points. Roos took over a worse list than the 2016 version of both Essendon and Brisbane. Brisbane are considered an utter rabble with 2 wins and 60%, but at the corresponding period we'd kicked 221 points less in 2013.
That he's been able to strip back the list and have the least experienced side in the competition last weekend (66 games to Brisbane's 67) beat the all conquering premiers, who'd delivered another 105 point thumping last year is testament to the incredible improvement and transformation of the list and club. He knew he'd first have to teach the players how to compete at AFL level, then win and finally win consistently. He took over a team that had won 20 quarters for the year and this year they'll be more than double. We're currently within 2 quarters of the Dogs and 5 of Hawthorn. We've won 5 more than St.Kilda.
Peter Jackson has been a Godsend too, but it's the coach who sets the tone of a football club. He's brought in Goodwin and allowed him to have control in the areas he's good at, such as player relationships and game style. Roos has created an environment where Goodwin and others can thrive. He's been a culture changer.
And he's been worth every cent.
Yep, well said Pro Dee

Very happy.
Certainly goes against the trend of unsigned players leaving it so late to recommit.

They don't need a priority pick, they need structural change and extra room in the salary cap, even if temporarily, to retain their talent, while they get their act together.

Hey od...
Very reserved in his commentary, but quick summary:
- said that the game changed since Jack was drafted and the coaches didn't adjust the players to the contested style
- there were no leaders at the club, hence his development was thwarted
- too many inexperienced coaches
- Jack loves the club, but he's quite reserved. CP5 is, apparently, the life of every party!
- Was ready to walk if Neeld stayed
- Footy will never define Jack as a person
- Jack was frustrated at the ball movement...Dawes gets the ball kicked to him on his head and there 3 players on him...Jack is usually free in many instances
Very reserved and measured....
And that he loves the club, only ever considered leaving, if neeld stayed

Listening to SEN now, not particularly encouraging news re Jesse from Brian Waldron.
He does Perth radio on Tuesday nights, says everyone is 100% certain Jesse's going home. Freo does not need to get him this year, and trade with Melbourne, they plan on getting him next year for nothing. This year they will get McCarthy and are going to target Lobb. How many tall forwards do they need???
I know it's not telling us anything that hasn't been said before, but still...
