Yeah we need to play them as we would anyone really, with respect and 4 quarter footy (although at best we can only play 3 quarters now because that was average). I think we will turn it around but that first quarter is a good reminder to the boys that they will need to be switched on all day today

Yeah agree. Still perplexes me how 22' was so low (even taking into account interstate teams). But I think there's a lot of excitement around the team right now. Lots of kids, big future, exciting game play. If we don't make finals this year, we'll have a big turnout the following year. We need this kind of excitement and continued success to build the fans of tomorrow - the ones who will be bringing their kids in 20 years. I think that's been the missing link for us. We were so ordinary for so long that we have a disjointed and disconnected fanbase. I thought 21' was the year we'd turn it around and aim for a purple patch to bring in those future fans. We have another chance now, especially while Maxy is still with us!

Completely agree - they have been immense additions, and their pride in what they do is not only evident on their part - it is willing others to do the same - hence the no quarter given football.

(TL;DR - If we play as we have, back ourselves, respect the Bombers and play 4 quarters, we win by a nice margin). The above was just an independent thought/statement; I didn't realise the record was that lop-sided.

We've seen enough losses to teams we really shouldn't have lost to (Bombers included) so I get the nerves. I feel them, too. But this is what I know: If we play as we have been playing and back ourselves, we win. Probably with a nice margin. If we walk up to this game expecting a win, we will probably lose. We need to respect and treat every single opponent seriously and play 4 quarters. If we do that, we'll win a fair bit. From what I have seen so far this year (small sample size, but a good one), the boys look like they have bought in and are enjoying the way they're playing, and probably relishing the trust/buy-in from the coaching group, as well. I think the boys will be buoyed by last week, and King & Co will be keen to ride that wave and keep earning trust. Rain may impact scoring a little and will highlight skills. But our move ball forward at all costs will be important. Dees by 20. I'd love for the boys to start like we did against the suns, and keep that manic pressure up. Let's do it for Melk!
