  1. OMac and JKH out... ... Now we're getting somewhere! It'll take time to gel, but man it's gonna be sweet seeing Lever and May repelling everything that comes their way (hoping that our mids do more running to prevent that), and with Hibbo/Salem rebounding, together with new gun Hore helping out with intercepts.
  2. Late response to this, but I just wanted to say that I agree with you. I'm actually really happy he's been re-signed. He sounds relieved, so hopefully it leads to better footy. However, my point still stands. Many of the other guys that missed (that each should have kicked the goal), are earning big bucks, but they have largely all proven their worth. Weid has not, which means he doesn't get to ask for big bucks until he does. And that means kicking goals straight out in front, which is meat and potatoes stuff for a KPF. But like I said, I'm hoping the contract leads to some good footy because I think he's capable.
  3. Ladies and gentlemen, the Melbourne Football Club. How much is Weid asking for again?
  4. This is where Weid can start to make his claim.
  5. OH MY GOD WILL SOMEONE IN THIS CLUB STAND UP, GROW A PAIR AND KICK A GOAL?
  6. Maybe we'll win this by fluffing chances and kicking a million points?
  7. JEFFY! A rare, unicorn set shot goal!
  8. Agree to an extent, mostly Hannan as he has some record. But I'm forgetting when JKH was ever good? My recollection is that he was always fringe, struggled to get a game, and when he did, he usually spent his time coughing up the ball with garbage disposals. And that's what he's doing on his return - Seems pretty consistently poor to me. But I'm happy for someone to show me the JKH highlight reel. I'm seriously open to having my mind changed.
  9. I hope the missed chances don't cost us. We need to come out with a quick goal.
  10. JKH's disposals are garbage. I know some here are commending his efforts, and yeah sure he's trying, I just wish he'd hit one of our guys on the chest, or even within 5 metres.
  11. How come it's 'great umpiring' when Tex is swung around, while holding the ball for about 30 minutes, and doesn't dispose of it properly?
  12. Jenkins is lucky that OMac is 'on him', he wouldn't kick a goal otherwise. Ugh.
  13. This year, shank has had a completely different meaning for us. Thanks for reclaiming it for a much greater purpose.
  14. Ah, Jeffy. So much excitement. He's kind of like the old family dog. You've got love for him because of the good times, but you also wonder how he's managed to stick around, with the running out on to traffic and all. He jumps around and slobbers all over you, and you're like aww, bless, he's still got it. Then he pisses all over the rug. (I wish he used his opportunities better).
  15. I once read someone refer to JKH as a 'silky midfielder'. I'm still trying to work that one out. Junk disposer of the footy.
  16. What was that? We actually paused, looked up and aimed the footy RIGHT AT ONE OF OUR GUYS ON THE LEAD! ... FOR A GOAL! Who is this team?
  17. Fritter is way more valuable at half forward, where there isn't as much pressure as in the backline. When is this going to happen full time?
  18. Ah, the Night Watchman! Very noble of him
  19. Where was everyone in our backline just then?
  20. Is Spargo going to make the distance?
  21. Geez Jenkins is a spud. I wish OMac didn't give away crap frees like that, but if you're going to, Jenkins is not a bad guy to give the ball haha
  22. I'm liking our forward entries. Finally, the boys are running into good spaces, we're lowering the eyes a little and not being so damn predictable. I tipped us tonight. Just goes to show, if you tip us enough, sometimes you're 1/4 right!
  23. Where was this effort last week? Jeffy has looked lively, although I wish he'd use his chances more. Promising stuff from Weid, Baker and Hunt. Brayshaw has looked good here and there but geez he looks so horribly down on confidence, hopefully that goal helps.
  24. I don't get some of the negativity towards the kid. It's who we got. If we'd have lost even more games than we have this year (hard to imagine) (we also need to remember we shouldn't have even been in this predicament this year), we would have gotten someone else. But we didn't. We managed to eek a couple of wins, and Dunks is the guy. Is he a Walsh? Nope. He doesn't need to be. We supposedly already have a couple of our own Walsh's. He's a Dunkley. And that's the name we'll hopefully be screaming out as he directs some smart, direct passes to our boys inside 50, leading to goals and a flag. Or he'll win us the ball on the inside and create opportunities. I don't know, but he deserves a chance. He could be a piece of the puzzle. An ingredient. Not even a useless ingredient like parsley. Like a bay leaf. You don't know exactly what he does all the time, but damn you know you shouldn't do it without him. He could even be the stock! Essential! Personally, I'd rather direct my energy towards some of our boys who aren't having a dip, and taking the jumper for granted. Let's give the kid a chance, he looks alright alright alright and he's got some pedigree! Welcome, Kyle! Have a dip, play smart, bleed for the jumper and we'll love you forever.
