  1. for someone with a name delicious Jurrah I find it Ironic you are getting stuck into the rebuild. Brock's gone get over it, Look at Brock's body and game style in 4-6 years he may be getting around using a frame so let him go, pick 11 in the last uncompromised draft will help, in 4-6 years we should be close to the strongest Victorian Club, hopefully that translates to a premiership!
  2. Yes you will miss him for another 65 days until the Draft, after that you will be excited. Yes he did give his heart and soul to the club, he hasn't got much left to take to the Scum now does he?
  3. He sure will, Scum McClean is a Carlton boy now, unprecadented press coming his way... I want him to go on the footy trip though, at all costs (nothing would be better then him going and making fevlike fool of himself now
  4. Many Carlton fans are filthy, which makes me happier. I think he should no longer be known as Chooka McClean, perhaps Goose McClean or Scum McClean is a better fit... I actually read something from a Carlton fan saying "why would he want to stay at a club that deliberately loses games"
  5. Our front page should have Jordon McMahon, Travis Johnstone and Brock McClean as recognition for their services to the club in 2013 If we have Jack on there now why not add scully and trengrove and Jackie G.
  6. but good call on flash going nowhere, we will have to spend a heap of cash to make the salary cap, he won't be taking off.
  7. Pick 30 for Miller, who are you kidding, would be lucky to get a boot studder and two tackle bags.
  8. then we trade them to Calton for pick 11, or if real duds St Kilda, Freo or Essendon will generally be interested, otherwise Hawthorn may try poaching them...
  9. oh and if he leaves I will have to rename my dog.... maybe Jurrah would be a nice new name.
  10. any player that is not as excited as most of the supporters are about the good prospects this club has in 4-6 years time can leave. Chooka's body is half baked now, when Melbourne become good he is going to be even slower and likely have more injuries (if possible) so let him go, Flash wont go anywhere everyone is just on edge and jumping at shadows...
  11. Agreed, if he read half the dribble on here and the slangings he has copped he may well tell us to belt it... won't slip to 11 though, far too much potential, his kicking is not great but not as bad as some report.
  12. He may have got that from a point I made earlier in the thread, based on information from someone in the know at Gippsland Power.
  13. trading him might be going to extreme's I could think of many names you would trade before him. I just hope he gets a good injury free preseason in and is ready for 2010. For those that think he was anywhere near his former self don't have a very good memory, however yes he probably was better then other times throughout the year.
  14. There is a few easy ways to teach him workrate - Next year you tell him he has the job on Reiwoldt or Franklin and he can learn to work hard from how hard they work. Don't be too put off by my comments on his lack of work rate although he is not running the mega km's an elite AFL star is I don't think you will find any forwards in the TAC cup or under 18 level covering lots of km's. It will change as he matures, Fev wouldn't cover much a game. At the end of the day we have to trust that we are a bunch of hacks and the club pays people good money to make these big calls and if they were to get it wrong then we make a thread about them and go down that path :-) IMO we will either get Trengrove or Butch with number 2 and I will be happy with either, another quality mid will make any of our forwards look good (ie Hansen, Lynch, Hunter, 3 massive spuds that looked dangerous a few years ago because of a good midfield), or we get a good pacey forward like butch who will make our midfield look good by getting to balls he shouldnt...
  15. Rivers - strange everyone thought he was back near his best, I would disagree, he frustrated me yesterday and I thought he was beaten several times. Jamar - would be one of the best contested mark's getting around.
  16. I agree with you. As I said his pace and athletic ability (I saw him lead about 40m flat out from the first step and mark the ball at his toes) are the difficult traits you cannot teach however I think by putting a GPS on him and a couple of AFL pre seasons then you can sort out his work ethic pretty quickly. I also like the thought of big vic country lads making it as KP forwards. With his pace and strong hands even just playing in an open 50m he could be very very dangerous. Another positive is that he is already a fairly big boy and I don't think it will take him too long to bulk up and come on in that sense.
  17. Hi All sorry I think I posted this in another thread but think it fits better here, I had a good first hand look at Butcher a few weeks ago when he was playing for his local side Maffra in the seniors despite his little influence on the game I must say I was very impressed, his speed and marking ability were both outstanding not to mention his size. He did not look out of depth playing amongst men. However he did fade out of the game fairly quickly, an ex power player who also claimed jack watts as a scalp last season went to him early on and can now add butcher to his list. I have also heard through Gippsland Power that his work rate is very low, he has all the tools but not willing to always use them, he only runs around the 5km mark every game as opposed to a Richo or Reiwoldt who is between 10 and 15. Teaching him a work-rate that will see him succeed at AFL level appears to be the challenge... This doesn't make picking him any clearer at this stage because lets be honest once draft day is done and dusted it doesn't matter who has what talent and what number they were selected it comes down to who is willing to work the hardest along with mental and physical maturity.

  19. You people have lost me, Adem Yze not done with?!? are you serious, I made a point of actually watching him for a fair portion of the game and he is the most selfish and laziest players I have seen in a long time, wont give the first option when in the F50 rather try and snap over his shoulder, tries kicking goals out of mid air when he could grab it and have all the time to bag one and more importantly gives nothing more then token pressure to me does not look like he really wants to chase or lay a tackle providing it looks like he is trying. Disgraceful
  20. Sorry but I spend all day at local footy on a satdy, hit the town of a night time and there is no chance of me getting in the car and putting up with 2hrs on the road plus traffic then parking and all the rest of it, not only do I not have the time but its getting to bloody expensive for country supporters to have to come to games etc. for the cost of me to come to one game a month I can have fox sports at home and watch many games....
  21. anyone mind explaining to me why we are getting into a young kid making his way, having to earn his spot every week when we have much senior players to him *cough*bruce*cough* with worse disposal. I like the kid he plays with confidence and has a crack, something really lacking in our team. How can you expect him to hit a target everytime he gets it when we dont have anyone moving or providing a target, the only reason opposition players look good is because if you put a ball in a 40m radius of franklin or brown or pav they will prob get it. Poor buckley has no1 to kick it too, robbo encourages everyone to bomb it in the air coz speccies are his game and Miller... well.... to play with the confidence he does, considering we get belted every week and he gets dropped every other week speaks volumes of the blokes determination and love for playing football, he backs himself in, i'm more then happy to see him make a couple of mistakes.
  22. Murphy is a quality player just not getting an opportunity, kicking plenty in the WAFL but due to the investment in Tarrant can't get a regular senior game, I would love to see him have the chance to string together 10+ senior games and then make a decision on him. He has a very good kicking action and would be one of the best shots for goal getting around, I also think his pace and contested marking ability are superior to that of any of our younger guys.
  23. a lot of people are suggesting he is good because he is quick, has good hands etc... if he was quick he would still be in the back line agreed he is quick in our forward line (because it is so slow) but if we are picking him on his pace and hands why not give bate and dunn a crack at CHF, they would be better lead ups. In regards to miller, I dont like seeing aggression and stupidity mixed up.
  24. This year we certainly are not going to win a flag so what benefit will we get from playing dutchy? I like dutchy and he does have a real crack but we'd be better off with Martin or Frawley.
  25. Yer he gives us something..... on the training track quite clearly in games nothing.
