  1. C'mon Billy, who is Holland going to play on? What purpose would it serve bringing him in, as far as I am concerned Holland like Yze has played his last game in melbourne colours, if we dont have a young'un that could do the same job as him then we are in real strife.
  2. Because he gives us nothing... could be one reason. We have better forward and back prospects then him and granted he was not our worst yesterday he is still not in our best 22 (yet makes leadership group)
  3. Someone speaking some sense... dont get me wrong im a massive neitz fan but if he was anyone else he would be dropped, not sure if newton is the answer but maybe try him one out no point leaving neitz down there if you are going to play newton. Davey must stay in the forward line id rather see him with 10 possions as a fwd then 25 as an onballer. Robbo sadly has to go, to slow. Can anyone name a fwd line in the league that could be slower then ours?
  4. They are still just footballers not different to your local comp, confidence goes down you lose your hunger I dont know... maybe he hasnt lost his hunger but you pay close attention this week he does not seem as "interested" for want of a better word. I hope he does prove me wrong though, and I think the way he will prove me wrong is by playing close to goal for more of the game.
  5. Most footballers would know that getting dropped is embarassing and forces you to reassess your game, blokes should not be allowed to play on reputation (bailey has stated they wont) Bad luck if the ground is hard and the standard is no good, if you want to play AFL deal with it, get your confidence up, work hard and you will be back (and davey would be back in no time). Davey is known to not perform well under pressure, well there is no more pressure on you then being in the twos and expected to impress, he might learn at thing or two.
  6. I think he does, when you see him out on his own he is quick but he doesnt have that hunger to chase people down like he used too...
  7. Good question, I would say because Aaron Davey is not a midfielder IMO, he is a forward pocket and we have a history/habit or trying to turn very good forward pockets into very good midfielders. I certainly think he is in our best 22 but he is not playing anywhere near his capabilities and a week or two at sandy might be what he needs to do to realise where he should be at. Lets be honest its not gonna hurt out team too much at the moment.
  8. not meaning to start a big debate but I dont see how they work well together. Davey's work rate at the moment is not where it needs to be (perhaps he is out of position I would rather him close to goal and no where else but with our lack of pace in the midfield we dont have a choice) Buckley adds a lot, Bailey wants the run and carry game and he is one of the only blokes who has the ability to run with the footy and back himself in, he adds a lot and should not be compared with bell. Not sure why robbo is a protected species, his goals come in dead time more often then not, he doesnt add anything and persists in kicking to leading forwards etc off 1 step everytime he gets the ball.
  9. Just noticed the onballers here are mcclean, jones and mcdonald... Massive issue here is they are all one paced, very slow, I would also start PJ in the ruck before white.
  10. Sorry but one bloke here who is escaping all critisism is Davey. Having Oz in the team made me think back to how good davey was when he cared - he runs around all day with nothing short of token pressure, he does not look the slightest bit dangerous. Out - Garland, Robertson, Chris Johnson, Davey, Miller In - Bate, Buckley, Newton, Frawley, Maric Radical changes but the blokes listed as ins are not lony better then the out they are also younger and have more potential. Davey is an exception he just needs a wake up call he has given us nothing in a very long time. Now I guess I am open to public lashing
  11. he must be proud of himself coming to a melbourne club to pursue business interested because Dick Pratt could help out and to be at a successful club etc - now define success a team that deliberately loses to gain an unfair advantage the following season? some may see that as success, turns out Dick Pratt is a crook and been ripping blokes of for year and Judd just goes and starts up a croc'o'shiat company that anyone with a profile could get going, certainly wouldnt need much help with that! tossa.
  12. Does Judd not remember the great Laurence Angwin of Carlton fame - difference between him and Cousins is that cousins could play
  13. Just wondering if anyone else thought similar to me on Chris Judds comments on the Footy show last night, when probed about the tanking he said it was before his time blah blah blah then made a comment like "at least I guess we haven't had players getting arrested" surely he was not having a crack at us...
  14. most hates 1 - Dale Thomas - live like a 5 time premiership player - who to date still has achieved nothing. 2 - Steven Baker - not sure if anyone has mentioned him but shame on you if you havent. 3 - Brendan Fevola - thinks he is above everyone including his team mates, his talent aside if he had a brain and could keep his mouth shut he would be one of the best... what a waste. 4 - Rhyce Shaw - not sure why just cant stand him 5 - Any cloke playing the game - they can thank their daddy for that one... Most admired blokes 1 - John Brown - Freak 2 - Adam Goodes - versatility 3 - Robert Harvey - look at his record 4 - Chris Judd - break ability 5 - Barry Hall - how can you not like him, one of the hardest working blokes going around
  15. I think one of the biggest issues under ND and under a lot of AFL coaches is that they always think that a classy and very talented FP makes a great midfielder, I have always though Brad Green would be much better use for the team in the forward line, he would kick his few goals a game, I think the same for Flash, id much rather him rack up only 10 touches in the forward line then 30 scouting around packs in the midfield and backline... Plus we need blokes down forward who can get the ball and use it. As for last season though I disagree... he just needs to be better coached.
  16. we may have started the experiment to Ireland that other clubs are now doing, but I am quite sure anything that any club does that is innovative and successful becomes common practice amongst all footy clubs sooner or later (and I do not mean that all clubs are going to start breeding players on illegal substances in a bid to win premierships and brownlows)
  17. Adrian Cox is no longer up there. He is Coaching Sale in the WGLFL.
  18. Why wouldnt miller play hard? is there any other way, if you have size about you and just run around trying to bump over the lil blokes all day we may aswell trade him for Aaron Hamill, I would much rather see him having a fair old crack and being suspended for 8 weeks of the year then playing like a skirt and getting dropped back to sandy for the same period. Obviously with DB keeping him on he has a bit of faith that he can get something out of him otherwise he would be gone already so I dare say DB will know by round 3 or 4 where Millers future is at and I dont think Miller is under any illusions regarding his place on the list.
  19. ive always like to replace the petterd for bobby, Ricky Bobby just has a good ring to it. Majic sounds like a good one for the new kid.
  20. Agreed... I wouldnt trade kennedy for one of our water boys he is a super dud.
  21. well for your sakes I just hope that BM learns something in the off season and comes out and shuts me up, and the majority of people that would be happy to see him traded.
  22. ok then. You have your stance, When they run out to play I am behind all of them also but the club is bigger then any individual and the best thing for the Melbourne Football Club (and probably Brad Miller) is a change of scenery. Its your acceptance of mediocrity that runs through the veins of this club.
  23. At what point do you give up on someone though? in his six seasons he would be lucky to have played 6 exceptional games, every other CHF would play at least 6 exceptional games per year, pav, rooey, brown, mooney etc 91 games 34 goals... id rather Lynden Dunn or one of the young guys lining up at CHF and having a crack. Shall we give him another 6 years to see if he can improve and learn, maybe he didnt get it for the first 6!
  24. Thanks for that, I know you were not putting him in the same league as reiwoldt but I am struggling think of one other CHF in the league (if this is his true position as you were saying) that has such poor stats, take stats aside, he does not have the confidence or ability to kick a goal from 45+ how many other CHF's or even fwds in the AFL share that inability? of his average 11 touches or whatever he butchers most of it. He is not a CHF to me and you might like to keep him but ask yourself in the last 20 premiership teams which CHF would brad miller be better then?!? shouldnt be a hard question and if the blokes is not going to get you to that level as a team then your better off giving someone else a go.
  25. Miller is useless, you put him in the same sentance as reiwoldt some quick stats Miller in 07, 16 games averages 5 marks, 11 touches and .6 goals reiwoldt averaged 2.1 goals, 9.7 marks and 18 touches. If you think Miller just had a bad year in 06 he played 15 games for 5.5marks, 12 touches and .25 goals, Matthew scarlett probably averages more goals per game for a CHF its a disgrace.
