Mark Williams New Head of Development
YesitwasaWin4theAges replied to Demon3's topic in Melbourne Demons
Absolute friggen masterstroke by the Dees. In one day remove the last remnants of the dark years in Mahoney and bring in a known winner in Chocco Williams, i haven't been this excited in years. We are going all out it seems, hell bent on a flag(s) lots of knowledge, wisdom and Discipline in Chocco he looks very energized and appreciative of the opportunity to pass on his learnings in the game. Congratulations to the Board for handling it with such distinction.- 245 replies

TRAINING: Monday 7th December 2020
YesitwasaWin4theAges replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Any records being shattered at the 1st day of training? -
Absolute and utter disgrace to the game Collingwood, Mcguire and co. The bigot culture will always exist in the game of AFL when people like Mcguire and Buckley are still lurking in its corridors. This is usually the case inside institutions of power and authoritative figures within them. No filter and no accountability to authorities within the game, zero people to answer to. If these comments about Goodes and Lumumba were made in the NBA, NFL or English Football in today's climate, Maguire and Bucks would have been finished back in 2013.

Signal in the red flags. The media knows exactly which club (clubs) to get outlandish delusional quotes from. We are the gift that keeps on giving this time of year.

Not in our plans unfortunately, rather put time into Bakes and the number of youngsters at our club. -
2020 Player Reviews: #23 James Jordon
YesitwasaWin4theAges replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
He has a catchy name, if he's anything like his long lost uncle in Chicago, he could be anything. -
Deepressing. F me.

So did Dion Prestia with the Dees and he went to Richmond.

Players who have had a firm grounding in world football adapt and grasp the game of Aussie Rules alot quicker than the normal everyday footballer.

They are the only club that can pull it off.

Who Will We Dislodge from the 2020 Final Eight?
YesitwasaWin4theAges replied to Lucifers Hero's topic in Melbourne Demons
Two teams will drop out, Collingwood the most obvious one, I have a feeling PA will struggle in 2021. They had a massive benefit playing a fair chunk of games at Carrara and their scheduling of games was also of big benefit. -

To sell newspapers and click bait. -
Don't forget we missed out on Issac Smith aswell. Time will tell if that was a bullet dodged or a sliding doors moment.

What they’re saying in Lulie Street

Weak culture at the Pies. -
Anything we get from Tmac going forward is an absolute bonus, nothing motivates better than people writing you off, im backing Tmac in. Like a new signing for us if he produces in 2021.
-
A part of me feels that if we ended up moving Tmac on another player would have come through the door i.e Phillips etc. I'm glad that Tmac has stayed at the club and can recapture his best footy and have a sound body and mind. Another big body to create pressure for spots Fwd/Back thats what we need this could be a real blessing for us going forward. Still have the pre season draft to snare a smokey from somewhere you never know.
-
Agree with you AF to a certain degree, i just feel we need a more flexible F50. I think we are banking on Spargo, Hunt and Kosi to go to another level in 2021. I don’t want us to be a copycat club, its a sign of weakness and will not defeat a Richmond side in september. I happy with our conducted business in trade week. Happy days.

I was hoping for another small pressure forward in the Higgins mould as it is a glaring flaw in our game. A Phillips type Winger would have been icing on the cake. Either type of player would have capped of an already shrewd trade period for the Dees. Kudos to Mahoney and Co.

Could have been alot worse, could be in Collingwood's shoes.????? It's not the end of the world guys and girls, i hope this sparks a fire from within for Tmac. He's just going to have to wait for his opportunity to shine.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
YesitwasaWin4theAges replied to Dee tention's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think Fox Footy and the AFL have gotten into both camps and are setting this up as a Tradeday Night special me thinks. -
I reckon we'll end up paying half his wage unfortunately, it will be a fire sale type scenario couple of hours left on the clock, take it or leave it. I'd rather he stays, but just can't see it happening, we need whatever money we can off the books going forward.
