Haha. Reminded me of days at Vic park and an old Pies fan Mrs Johnson who would sit on the fence in the outer and try to hit us over the head with her umbrella as we put the banners up. After a couple of years we worked out that the girls would do that part of the ground (and she allowed them to put the banner up - not the guys) as long as she could put her Pie's tea towel over our banner.

One could hope for a fair distribution. As you point out H&A is one thing and finals are another but I agree with your point. Melbourne make the finals and our supporters will be everywhere. Even the AFL could not ignore the $$$$$$$'s

Well if that's the case the ground has to be opened up to 50% non Geelong supporters if it's a Victorian club. Let's see how that goes down in catland.

Watch the free kick count to the druggies this weekend.

Just noticed we have scored 1561 points (average 104 = 17.3 goals) with the next nearest Richmond 1461 (average 97 = 16.1 goals) after the last round. Simple really. Goals = breaks = $$$$ in revenue. Carlton 942 points (average 62.8 = 10.4 goals) and St Kilda 1055 points (average 70.3 = 11.7 goals). Hmmmm channel 7 missing the plot here.

Well if we have kicked the most goals SURELY channel 7 would love us on a Friday night. With all the goal breaks the advertising guru's would spend more. Open your eyes 7 and AFL and make it happen.

No it was outside the "dressing rooms" in the tunnel. They threw on heaps of food and drinks.

Poll done by a Sydney company??? If those figures are correct how come Melbourne's figure is so high with average attendances (take out the Alice and Darwin). I think 4th or 5th currently. Does not make sense.

Same same. Was with the cheer squad in "T" section and lost my voice for quite a while after the match. Stayed at the G overnight and got home late Sunday.

I asked this question on another topic and was told that even if we get out of this game we DO NOT get another home game at the "G" as we are only contracted for 9 games there. OUR HOME GROUND and Carscum get home games there forcing us to play a home game at that ground on the other side of the city. Can anyone confirm how many home games we are contracted for at the "G".

Can the 27 Melbourne supporters there please cheer louder when we score as it sounds like the place is full of Docker supporters.

Hating the height of the TV camera's. Too low to the ground. Should be much higher for a better view. THIS MUST BE THE LAST GAME AT THIS VENUE. Even more cheering for a Freo goal that a D's goal. Grrrr

Hard shots for goal - easy. Set shots - hard.

I got in after watching the Dali Lama drive past. Busy night in old Melbourne town.

WTF. Before he leaves we need a better deal on OUR HOME GROUND. The rest are tennants for god's sake.
  18. She leaves all the other special comment"nuff nuff's" for dead. She is so insightful and to the point on all teams just not the pro cats and hawk comments that some have.
  19. AFL is a professional sport. Hundred's of million's are generated each year. The AFL has opened up gambling to where some feel the AFL maybe compromised down the track (India/Cricket) and yet they leave the most important part of the game in the hands of amateurs. THE UMPIRES. By making them professional do you really think things will change. The weekly tinkering of interpretations are mind-boggling. Quickly losing interest in this game as it is at the moment.

Just met neighbours going thru a fence issue and in general conversation we realized we follow Melbourne. They are not members but will join next year if we have a good year. Good result on the fence ensued. Then went to the Alfred for eye checkup (make sure I see free kicks on the other side of the ground) and the lady looking after me also followed Melbourne (I talk a lot) and she said her whole family of eight members follow Melbourne but not one is a member. Do well this year and we should re-connect with many supporters who with a push will join. All up to the boys on the ground and the FD moving forward. A sleeping giant may just awake.

    One per winning goal. Brilliant.
  22. Great spot in my mind. Train from Toorak to Richmond, walk to the ground and get our seats in the members then a quick walk up for a meal and drinks at the new facility (as long as they keep the prices cheaper than inside the ground) then back for the game. Got it planned already.
  23. And the government HAS to include Spring Street as well as Federal. The Federals have pumped millions into Geelong, Essendon, North and of course the filth.

Just watched the second quarter and with 4:50 min to go, Richmond's Miles, being tackled around the chest, lifted his left arm to push the tackler's arm up towards his neck and was paid a free kick. Umpire 8-10 mtrs away with a perfect view. I thought the umpire dept was outlawing the "Selwood" free. The dribble from 7's commentary team was the worst I have ever heard. I actually screamed at the TV with Ling's comments. ABSOLUTE idiot. He makes BT sound good.
  25. I agree. I'm told he is from Adelaide so why not debut against Port over there and give his family and friends an armchair ride watching him.
