AFL is a professional sport. Hundred's of million's are generated each year. The AFL has opened up gambling to where some feel the AFL maybe compromised down the track (India/Cricket) and yet they leave the most important part of the game in the hands of amateurs. THE UMPIRES. By making them professional do you really think things will change. The weekly tinkering of interpretations are mind-boggling. Quickly losing interest in this game as it is at the moment.

Just met neighbours going thru a fence issue and in general conversation we realized we follow Melbourne. They are not members but will join next year if we have a good year. Good result on the fence ensued. Then went to the Alfred for eye checkup (make sure I see free kicks on the other side of the ground) and the lady looking after me also followed Melbourne (I talk a lot) and she said her whole family of eight members follow Melbourne but not one is a member. Do well this year and we should re-connect with many supporters who with a push will join. All up to the boys on the ground and the FD moving forward. A sleeping giant may just awake.

Just watched the second quarter and with 4:50 min to go, Richmond's Miles, being tackled around the chest, lifted his left arm to push the tackler's arm up towards his neck and was paid a free kick. Umpire 8-10 mtrs away with a perfect view. I thought the umpire dept was outlawing the "Selwood" free. The dribble from 7's commentary team was the worst I have ever heard. I actually screamed at the TV with Ling's comments. ABSOLUTE idiot. He makes BT sound good.

No Geelong as they are the second oldest team? The one thing that other teams CANNOT come to grips with is that the MCG is Melbourne's home ground and the rest of them are ONLY tennants. And yes the Melbourne Football Club is a club under the MCC umbrella. Long may that continue.

Just saw AFL360 and they were on about the free kicks to West Coast at home. Currently 96 to 39 and umpires have intimated to Chris Scott that they are influenced by the crowd so the free must be there. Alan Richardson was also complaining about the frees there but not paid to opposing clubs. Robinson said that Fox will chase the AFL up. Haha Dead end there I feel.

It's easier for the AFL to pander to the larger clubs with the "fixture" and keep the others on the drip. Times are a'changing. Keep playing the way we are and maintain being the 4th best in attendance and things HAVE to change. Excluding the NT attendances.

Didn't know where to post this but listening to SEN yesterday, David King was talking of the top three teams (West Coast, Richmond AND NORTH). Sorry D.H. but last time I looked at the ladder WE were 3rd and North were 6th. Let your bias go David and talk facts. Always respected his comments but this was stupid. Oh and now we have lost Lever we will go into free fall. And they actually get paid for this sh_t.
