  1. The AFL & Chan 7 would not allow it going by Footscray's game. All those stops for throws. Will never happen.
  2. It all depends on your name/team wether you get away with it.
  3. I have been advocating that boundary umpires be able to signal for frees as they see what we see from the stands, where teams like Footscray, throw the ball (not seen by umpire in central/bad position) which upsets the livin bjesus in me. Also may help stop "ducking the head" as well. One can only hope.
  4. I can see an AFL directive to not replay contentious decisions on the big screen moving forward. Be just like the AFL to protect their own. Supporters own the game and really the AFL need to be reminded of that. I may get howled down but some of the current batch of umpires DO favour certain teams/players to the detriment of the others (Hawkins, Selwood and Dangerfield spring to mind) and players do react to bad decisions as well as crowds. To fix the "dessent" player reactions I believe is in the hands of the AFL and umpire dept not so much as the players. Again bad decisions cause most of the problems. You see some tackled players spin around 360+ and umpire calls play on then others tackled immediately on getting the ball and being pinged HTB straight away. Set the bar one way AFL then adjudicate. That would be a good start.
  5. And what are the young cheer squad kids doing in a pub??????? Caught you out Rob. Haha
  6. We will never know what the AFL will do/say to Nathan Williamson (umpire #22) but that has to be one of the worse decisions this year - maybe in quite a while. He appeared to be side on so really should have had a very clear view. He, paying the free, undoes a lot of good work by other umpires and in the current light of "umpire respect" makes it very hard for both players and supporters when rubbish decisions like that are dished up. Note that decisions like that ALWAYS seem to favour one or two teams. Dogs and cats spring to mind. The AFL must come down heavy on Hawkins to stamp this out of our game.
  7. Bloody Hawkins. Frost hardly brushed him on the side (not the back) and Hawkins dived as if falling off a cruise ship. Not only got a free but a fifty. Just plain stupid umpire decision. This is a joke AFL.
  8. Too bloody old Rob but the love of the Dee's is so strong.
  9. My hatred ( I know wasted energy) of Essendon knows no limits. What they did to the competition with drugs ( whatever it takes - James Hird) I just cannot get over. And how weak the AFL were. I have missed the last two Melbourne V Essendon games as I cannot cope with their supporters. The only fight in the MCC that I noticed was way back when Salem won us the game. Two Essendon supporters went feral and started jumping seats to punch Melbourne supporters and fair and square hit two women. They were stopped by security and turned out to be sons of an Essendon member. Father lost his rights for quite a while. Generally will not watch any match with them in it but flicked onto #504 and am enjoying Fremantle's game. BURY THEM FREO. Rant over.
  10. No 50mt penalties against him - YET.
  11. Did you borrow that from the Jeelong Football Club??????
  12. I have loved supporting MY team all my life during the good and bad (and that's a bit of time). The good times are back.
  13. People won't remember who kicked the goal only the tap back. Sparrow's work got all the players congrats.
  14. And he would know?????? Haha
  15. I still cannot stand the AFL in how they handled the "drugs saga". Gill and the AFL just so protected Essendon from the correct penalty. Friends and family tell me to get over it but still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
  16. Billion dollar business for the AFL yet they cannot have decent sound systems in place to hear the actual questions being asked. Same goes for coach's interviews after matches. Quite bad really.
  17. Just loved the way Jack, with just a shake of the head, smile and STAND thinking I'll get that back. Other players, Jeelong spring to mind, would have seriously challenged the ump (and got away with it) and knowing our luck we would have a 50 mt applied against us. Just show's our team's mindset now.
  18. Can someone please clarify for me the ticketing for the GWS match. I have not received an email from either the MCC or AFL stating that this match is full ticketed (especially the MCC reserve). It is a major pain in the a$$ ( nigh on impossible) to get tickets WHERE YOU WANT TO SIT. The last two matches have us in #39 so we are just about side on to the city end goals. At this point we are just going to walk up on the night. Would really appreciate if anyone could advise.
  19. Bugger off. I GOT THE EMAIL FIRST. Haha
  20. Richmond home game. Their fans will make so much noise to ensure it happens.
  21. Your right now as we are the flavour of the month but previously when we were on 503 we had the Fox crew. Having said that I have noticed BT seems to have toned it down a bit this year Might be my selective hearing.
  22. Ch 7 for you. Follow the narrative.
  23. Impossible. Ch 7 tell's the AFL what is going on. Been happening since they started paying billions. Ch 7 control the narrative.
  24. Played their "grand final" last week it would appear.
