  1. Wondered for a long time why this has not been implemented and/or trialled.
  2. We also need a couple of great planning moves to develop an alternative set of game plans - broadly applied across all players and recruits. We've got the timber, we are losing the 'spark'.
  3. Looking forward to Demonland comments on pre-season preparations and potentials. Glad that it is nearly underweigh...
  4. He is not going to be a 'saviour' but he could well be a significant addition to what is shaping as a potent forward arc. Sustainable fitness and confidence are the two key factors for Joel to address. I'd like to see a readiness of Joel to attack teams and opportunities should BB be injured or wanting due to injuries.
  5. You betcha! Swept under the carpet post haste. Bit of an exposé, huh?
  6. It's almost as bad as what goes on in decisions across the duration of a game of footy under the auspices of the AFL.
  7. Sensible. Footy 101. The exit from the backline holds good promise, one hopes, for several fwdline variations and entries - and these may well be possible across the ground, flank to flank at we progress towards goal. Too many kicks, however, would stuff up the efforts and not have the desired outcome. SG must think about this - and then make instructions and pathways the responsibilities of nominated and supported players, where possible. Sheeeet, we have enough in the talent pool across the forward line now to make this a real 'goer'.
  8. Over recent years, Gawny has freaked them all out! Ruckmen, ruckmen, ruckmen - punch in the back of the head - ruckmen - body slam to that knee on the ground - ruckmen - punch in the kidneys - ruckmen.
  9. Agreed. Some of the 'cheaper' French reds are quite a surprise, very much like those we used to drink here in Oz before supplies ran out.
  10. It would have to be a moonboot at the slightest flurry of discomfort for him. That injury has been known to flare for considerable time, each time, a great risk would otherwise be taken without its protection. So, he must have made a startling recovery (as the timeframe is rather short for its healing).
  11. Yes, WJ. He impresses me as he has to goods to learn our ways whilst young and merge these with the innovative development of his own game characteristics.
  12. The highlights are favourably edited to be indicative of an ability to perform across all of a game, every game. That's OK with me but it does sway opinion and shift the focus. The things that stood out for me on the Hewitt reel were: he is a one-touch possession midfielder - that would be handy but not essential for us he is a good distributor of the ball across multiple distances, kicking accurately and well with both feet, and eyes up for a receiver We have a higher need for a mobile, well-built mongrel KP, front or back.
  13. They sure are experts but that doesn't mean they are paid by the MFC - they are such community-minded participants that they offer their services freely, at some personal expense (ie: for a meagre amount of Internet time and its related provider fees).
  14. In relation to our great club, just over 75 years might not be enough in terms of timeframe.
  15. I wonder if he (the Ooze) was called 'the gameday coach' from convenience as far as Goodwin was concerned. I'd doubt if SG would allow that to fully ramify and intercede in gameday performances, and adjustments; he would not, in my mind, despatch the strings to the puppets by handing these over to someone else on the critical day across game time - just in case we won the match, afterall.
  16. Silently, I think Max was indicating that he realises that we '...have them covered...' but the example of a two-ruck combo had to be made and was so done, rather quickly utilising the tact that Mr Gawn is known for where others are concerned.
  17. It sounds harsh, but the claim could well be justified by some on reflection.
  18. The concepts of limited blooding of junior players need not infer longer-term replacements onfield. However, their readiness to adjust to the bigtime when and if it comes would be heightened above the level of raw recruit with nothing but training familiarities with regular AFL teamsheets. Injuries were prolific for Demons this past season; as a consequence of little blooding, except for the now-departed Weed, limitation were worn onfield and across team sheets in a regressing series of disappointments.
  19. That kick was out of the upcoming book: 'Kozzie in Wonderland'. How on Earth did he do it, coz it ain't good luck!
  20. Even before he got to the firsts on debut, Fritta was a '...must get at all costs...'. It is no ambit claim; he is worthy of the accolades that he now attracts in the red'nblue.
  21. Geez, something really sounds excitingly good about that prediction.
  22. Agreed. There was also an unfortunate, quite inadequate 'blooding' of players performing well at Casey, as well; this may have relocated (on the field) some of the under-performers to a different role ... or replaced them depending on how well the adaptation of younger players might have been ... but just the same, we were static so often across the season and towards the last few rounds, had no options for the injuries, drops in form, game plan modifications. Cripples, we were, physically, mentally and psychologically. Goodwin, get onto it before 2023 is a disappointment, as well.
  23. In these variable modern times, the best player in the League.
