I'd reckon you were correct, Wells 11 (great jumper for the centreman). Frost's game dropped a few clangers but I'd reckon that he is so adaptable that now, most of these would be rare. He should IMO be in that magical '22' and several supporters and members that I have spoken to have raised that point to the extent that he would be their favoured CHB or even Fullback with the current personal down that end. If not, yep, he would be a very high quality replacement and even so 'off the bench'. Depth is pretty wonderful, heh? In the DL piccies of players, there is one of Frosty lifting a weight in training - just a chest, arms and head shot - this photo is intimidating as I cannot think of one AFL player who would not be confronted by landing him as a tall opponent with leg speed and attitude.

Agreed, consistency is going to be the issue. I am already sure that it will be consistent, except for teams like Collingwood, Carlscum, Essendrug, Whoreform, Geelong and GWS. NO worries. That is all we can hope.

Hiya, Wilbur. Agreed about the bottle fermentation in Cooper's Beer. However, it is three times better if you make it yourself. Cooper's make a ripper series of home brew mixes; have not had a bad one yet. Some are exceptional, such as their APA, Stout and Real Ale. However, I am probably talking to the converted so forgive me. The brews are fine to take to the 'footy' over here - meaning a few bottles slipped into the nearest Foxtel lounge when the Demons are playing on their telecast through Channel 504. Other than that, my home was Melbourne and I must admit, I miss it even after 18 years in Adelaide. Hell of a drive to get to the footy at the MCG, though...

Hey, over here in Adelaide, there are two clubs that drive you absolutely sick. Port and the Crows. No TV coverage for MFC, no articles in the daily paper, no radio commentary, no nuffin. Loathsome behaviours all of the time from supporters with at least 20 commentators counting every breath of every player in these two sides. They even think that they got a bargain with Watts, Toumpas and the profits from the Lever deal. Yep, hate Essendrug and Carlscum, but these two in proximity are unbearable.

Yep, putting the ball into space is a real forte for Salem; he anticipates a 'run-on' opportunity with great precision and it works to very good effect.

Clarry just received a smack in the jewels from the North player. He responded whilst obviously in pain, by quickly, but gently, tapping the North player's mid-abdomen, silently stating that '...anyone can do that to another and there is no room for it in our game.' Watch the video - that is what you see. It was more a case of Clarry pushing the North player's arm out of the way as it looked like another [censored]-smack was on its way. There is plenty of time for the AFL to repeal this atrocious decision against Clarry and appease his honour and dignity.

Yep, feisty but fairy 'Nuff. He responds (after displaying excellent tolerance on multiple occasions) to those physical contacts such as knees in the jewels, knees and elbows at his head once he is brought to the ground in a tackle or impasse, and backhanders or elbows to the face as he is winning the ball. We have all seen these occurrences. In reality, he just picks up those things that the umpires '...fail to see, notice or penalise...' as the written rules state that they should. This umpire behaviour is endemic and is an act of convenience operating against 'lesser' teams for the sake of others' recoveries of their game.

Just an aside, the following: Apart from draftee Dom Barry, playing his first game since 2014 with Melbourne, and Jack Watts, Port didn't get much out of prized free agency signing Steven Motlop, Jack Trengove or Lindsay Thomas in their debut appearances.

Great performance - even though it was a JLT series game - that clearly indicates his capacity to mix it with others as an opponent and as a team player/resource. Would also like to see Spargo and the Ginger Ninja (Baker) next week.

There is something in that, Deemented. Never recognised it before but you are definitely correct. Maybe is a 'readiness' thing brought on by training with Port - aligned to mental acuity in order to understand the purpose of the game? Could be wrong but he looks comfortable....

Grinter certainly applied himself and his consequences to the game outcomes. He was an enigma for the team and for all opponents. With great skills, mobility, excellent run and kicking 'to position' or up the ground, he redeemed himself for his aggressive style many times. But aggression was only a small part - it really was 'drive' and 'driven' was a mantra that Grinter exuded. Bugsy is a different player, a different athlete to Grinter but displays some characteristics of Grinter's drive and enthusiasm. This can do no harm to the team at all if the 'stupid' behaviours are controlled. There is no reason to suggest that these are not under control at this point. He trains hard and shows contrition for what occurred as a 'rush of blood' last season. We need him.

Really interesting points and both make a good deal of sense, Lord Byron. C'mon Bugsy! He creates interesting spaces and delayed reactions in his opponents when in touch. With those kicking improvements already mentioned on this site, both in the field and in set shots, he may well be one of our power play instigators. Wouldn't it be exciting?

It does stick in the back of the mind...taking the reckless advantage option too far for most peoples' liking. Good indicators have been the movement of previous Essendon players to other clubs.

I seemed to have received ( in the membership pack ) nearly all of what could be regarded as the 'full kaboodle', as did my wife. These few extra scarves will be good to hand out to others in the extended family who currently do not own one - as nothing is wrong, faded or farnarkled to warrant a replacement of previous largesse from the Club that assists with neck warming at the 'G. At the Club's membership department, I guess that different people do different things on different days and hence, in my case, Vive la Difference!

I'd play him, often. Like his endeavour and second efforts. However, I am not the coach. He seems capable of kicking more accurately at times; certainly, he plays off to teammates very well. Importantly, he gets the ball. Just an opinion, not a dictate from the Almighty.
