Interesting discussion. Do you pick this on 1. Lead by example or 2. Genuine leader. 1. Nev for leading by example - quite possibly the most underrated player in the league or 2. Lewis = leader. It's Lewis for me. Lewis knows what it's looks like to achieve at the highest level. But geez I love nev (and told him at a kids footy clinic recently - bit awkward for Nev)

No probs with this and I reckon we are tracking very nicely. Just reckon they are the standard for contested footy over a very long period - what Roos introduced for them and what he has started with us. Only thing I don't agree with is that once we get our players back that we will pummel them. Guys like Parker and Kennedy are seriously good players - Kennedy being the standard, he is a competitive beast. We were very fumbly and that is a direct result from referred pressure (we did the same against the doggies). I don't reckon you can shrug that game off, instead I think we can learn. Last night was a good reality check. But for me the goal is still very achievable - make the top 8, which is completely in our control. There are enough beatable teams left for us to play, regardless of the current injuries.

Crap umpiring, crap commentators. But realistically they were too good, too strong. That's the standard for contested footy.

He is the worst! Never forgive him for the commentary when Adelaide belted us in their last game a footy park. Kept saying "Melbourne understand their part in history". Last night was classic him. Sucking up to the eagles and missing anything that resembled a free for Melbourne.

Agree with this. Completely understand it's for monetary purposes but the fundamental point of the game is to win flags. In sport you should never give up your advantage.

Easy to think about it from a Melbourne perspective. From a doggies perspective: out of form, lots of changes, playing an inform team, against a midfield that is up for the contest. Go demons!

Well done wattsy!! I have always thought wattsy will become a better player as the team improves. It not an excuse, he is just that type of player eg relies on skill from his team mates. Also massive thumbs up to omac. Unfairly criticised for such developing/young player. Sitting at the ground listening to melbourne ferals (yes I know - to my surprise we have them) blaming him for every goal in the second quarter! Surely people must realise your backs are only as good as the way the ball comes in. More pressure in the second half and our backs (including omac) were terrific

Geez watching Robbie in the handball competition brings back some great memories. It was pretty tough being a young fella barracking for the demons in the 80s. But luckily we had Robbie - what a star. It's funny to think now, but at the time I would take that handball comp very seriously and Robbie would rarely let me down!
