  1. I'd like to believe we're more professional than that and would have some gage on whether Frost is too. If he isn't (buying in), then he should be on the trade table anyway. Footy is a professional industry and Frost should be contributing fully towards being a part of our 2017 campaign with the knowledge that doing so would have it's own individual AND collective rewards. If the club is actually not playing him for that reason, then we're sacrificing a decent player and the ability to have TMAC forward to kick a bag. But i just think Frost was down on form and now has to earn his way back in with Pedo holding down a forward spot and TMAC moving back.
  2. I want to believe Scully, don't let me down here.
  3. Could you reveal some non-revealing reason for why you have this tidbit? eg Family member of "someone" in the coaching depth?
  4. Someone said the same thing about Tom Rockliff last year.
  5. We're still 30 pages off being Dion Prestia level.
  6. As in, we need to replace garland with a defender who is depth at another club. (Not Dawson, but somone that will come cheap)
  7. I don't know if you're joking, but if we can't get Lever then we do need to replace Garland ie Injury depth. If we can't find an elite or potentially elite defender, then we'll need to look for a supporting forward to relieve pressure on Hogan, Watts, Weed & Pedo so that TMAC can go back and our defence can be elite. If injuries hit 2 defenders then we're pretty thin and it could really dent out season next year.
  8. Maybe they've been priming Sicily in the intercept marking role this year to offer as a trade with other picks and a midfielder.
  9. Do we know if any elite players will become available next year via free agency and contracts ending because it might be the case that one or two on your list will not continue on their current trajectory and command big dollars in 1 or 2 years. This means next year we'll have a more accurate assessment of how much money to offer an out of contract mid from another club. Imo, our list flush has not ended from Roos era. We still need to upgrade our bottom 6 and give a little more time to our core group and midfield to find out who is long term, who deserves big dollars and who is trade bait.
  10. Would trading Tyson or Watts if his next month is awful, allow us to not have to use a 1st round pick on Lever? ie Player + 2nd round pick this year and next ?
  11. I thought defence was only true in fairy tales meant for some other club but not for us. KPF's were out to get us. That's the way it seemed. Disappointment haunted all my dreams. Then I saw his highlights, and now i want Lever. Not a trace of doubt in my mind. I'm in love, now I want Lever! I couldn't leave him if I tried.
  12. The question should probably be reframed "What happens to Garland, if we get Lever" as Omac can now take over Garlands role next year.
  13. Perhaps the best way to 'neutralize' a gorilla forward is to just have your own one. TMAC has come on in that department, but Max will also start to come forward when he gets his match fitness and confidence up and bag 2 a week at some point in the future when Hogan holds position. Ben Brown, Daniher & Hipwood fall squarely in the hyperactive Giraffe category me thinks.
  14. Who is our defensive depth next year in case of injury or if TMAC stays fwd? Who helps Lever & Omac? Garland ?
  15. What about targetting Lobb or Wright? Has Tom Lynch re-signed? Tippet last resort (on small money) The beauty of TMAC playing both ends is that we can target either a Tall FWD on big money OR a tall defender, and swing TMAC back or forward accordingly.
  16. Ill believe it when i see it
  17. Rockliff was on the table apparently last year and no one bought. Also a Rumor thread on DL that he was a done deal as a Demon. Now articles all year about his new coach love affair with Fagan, seems utterly pointless to bring up Rockliff again?
  18. Put another way, we're currently short a big bodied forward without TMAC going forward. Id like to see how we go on Ben Brown and Patton, Hipwood, McCArtin over the next month to reassess how our team defence handles a very tall forward now that they've found more sync.
  19. Our defence was seen as a critical weakness that would prevent us going far in the finals or even making it.... Until Hibberd came in and made an impact and they all started to gel into a well oiled machine.
  20. I still wonder though, What if TMAC is having a honeymoon period, and he actually does get worked out at some point over the next few months or next year and should probably head back to CHB. With TMAC/Lever/Frost/Hibberd/Jetta/Hunt, we've got a very powerful defence. Even with OMAC as depth we can give him a few years to develop with Garland retiring. Prior to the TMAC phenomena, quite a few in here were calling for us to bring in a mid-sized forward like Gunston to support Watts and Hogan or a ruck/fwd. Hopefully Vandenburg is injury free next year and can squeeze back in, and Kent can find his form. Weideman will obviously take until mid to late next year at a minimum before he can hold down CHF/FF. Now the quandary is how long will Weideman take? Can we actually look to the trade period to bring in a marking forward like a Gunston, or a forward/ruck to compete with Pedo at CHF as well as targeting Lever? Our forward line would perhaps benefit from trading in a player that could take the load off Hogan and Watts in the event that TMAC loses form as a forward. Interesting trade period coming up, i think our priorities will depend on how our forward and defence cope over the next few months. Even if Defence is not our immediate priority with the forward line showing weakness, Lever is someone you just have to target. When Opportunity calls etc.
  21. One thing i've noticed is that he'll run into an oncoming tackle while holding the ball low in preperation to kick it. He sometimes just runs head on into tackles and doesn't do anything because his body has already made up its mind to go for a kick. His flexibility reminds me of Ben Holland. Like having a giraffe in defence. Needs to be more flexible with his hand eye coordination and get his hands up over his head to brace a tackle and fire off a quick handball.
  22. Smiling and nodding on SEN?
  23. This makes sense. But this trade isn't about getting rid of our surplusses, but matching Adelaides needs. So they'd want a first round pick and a midfielder, or two? ANB? Edit: They'd probably ask for Tyson or Brayshaw if he gets on the park, and our second round pick?
