Be Patient with Lever
Cant we give Keilty a go ahead of Frost? Frost from memory was recalled and dropped again soon after late last year. Playing dumb and not having this zone d down pat just seems like a reoccuring issue for him and he cant possibly be in our long term future plan.

Be Patient with Lever
Thats fine. But we should be asking how good pick 18 will be? Probably a talent that would be in the 10-16 range of our best in 3-4 years time. Big deal.

Be Patient with Lever
I think lever has a thumping proactive kick on him like hibberd. Trying to set up offensive passages. Tmac was more poor ball drops that result in toe poke lobb kicks in d, never saw him kick as attacking as Lever was with todays shanks. Confident Lever will get used to the mcg and some kicking rhythm pretty quickly.

Be Patient with Lever
Thread couldve been titled 'Leve Jakey Alone' You missed a golden opportunity! The only judgment im prepared to make at r2 is that Adelaide are [censored]! The minute the deal was done after claiming Lever was the second coming requiring 2 first round picks, they predictably switched to 'oh he's easily replaceable with Doedee' So we probably shouldve held out on our initial offer imo but maybe it will prove unders eventually.

Sam Weideman
I only saw the highlights, but Box Hills manning up and defence appeared very messy and he seemed to be playing on a frustrated slow spud of a defender too. You'd want to have a handful of 4-6 goal games to put forward a case that he has got it though? Hopefully the first half of the VFL this year he does just that.

Petracca wants to start in the guts.
Perhaps he's just a larger mass, so objects appear to be moving past him slower, than with other players. Sort of like when a supernova explodes, it engulfs the entire solar system at a fast rate, but from a distance it looks slow

As long as TMAC doesn't indulge in drunken midnight bushwalking, we'll probably be alright.

What the Fritsch
It was overplayed because of the whole Collingwood first game he had and coming full circle or something. Just another meme for the year.

What the Fritsch
Luckily for Carlton, they'll never have to experience another 5 goal second half qualifying final from a first year player again On the contrary, I think it's about time people saw the Watts trade in a wider context. The cringey persistent lamentations over the Watts trade (on another forum) have been met with a stern response from me about look at what we got in return and giving Fritsch a chance over the next few years, to actually judge the second round pick trade. Which i don't think was a mere coincidence personally. Having said that, none of the burden of having to live up to another players potential, should ever be placed on his shoulders. He only has the burden of living up to pick 31.

Salem ready to make his mark
Add Hunt and Hibberd in to the mix at times too. Very nervous opposition. The Lever inclusion looks more and more like a masterstroke now with flow on effects all over the field. We're only one non-game in though heh

Ollie Wines
Why not both? If we're into Ollie Wines, then i'd think he would be viewed as an upgrade on Tyson, Brayshaw, Salem or ANB. And that's who we'd trade for him with a draft picks. If we were good enough to make the finals this year, but limited in what we could serve up and subsequently departed in week 1 or week 2, then we'd be looking to upgrade on the firepower at our disposal imo. Have to be ruthless with who we'd need to give them. As for outside run, i don't see many that are worth too much, and we'd only need to arrange the cap space and lose something not really that valuable in terms of draft pick/trade or get them through free agency. I think this year may reveal a few list suprises that could cover for this supposed dire need for outside run too. Edit: The club used the sample principle in acquiring Harrison Petty, pick quality if its available. Work out how to shuffle around the rest of the list after.

Tom McDonald - Ready to Re-sign?
I'm waiting for proof. Do we know if old McDonald has bought a farm in the Geelong region?

Are we ready? Rory Sloane
Whether we're past going for a big fish depends on how well we do this year. Tyson, Brayshaw, Salem etc. Plenty of players could be on the chopping block to make cap space for our homegrown & a big fish if available, if we are still around the 7-10 mark and have a weak final (if we make finals) - Optimistic we'll exceed 7th and will not need to chase Sloane. Luke Dalhouse is a free agent this year, perhaps we'll be more in need of the cream on top of the cake type player.

Fenceology Predicts the ladder
How do we combat zone footy? Have Hogan/TMAC/Gawn this year making more of an impact with the pack/leading mark on the wing?

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARRISON PETTY
I don't know what all the petty arguing is about. He looks good. Dynamic and proactive!

Welcome to Demonland: Bayley Fritsch
Maybe the shoe will be on the other foot: "Gee, Port Adelaide really missed out by trading out pick 31" every time Fritsch takes a mark or kicks a goal? Anyway, next year is not the year to decide one way or the other.
