  1. I'm quite happy for players privacy to be respected. If they wanted everyone to known the details, I'm sure they would have put it out there and perhaps in the fullness of time, he will. Unless Tippa does choose to tell his story, then I don't think it's right to be speculating.
  2. CARN THE NARRM Love it and looking forward to yelling it out at the ground on Saturday.
  3. Agree. Alot of credit really does need to go to those who sealed these deals. Not only did we get it done with a reasonable exchange of picks in pretty much all cases, but the efforts to convince these players that they should chose the MFC over the many other potential suitors shouldn't be underrated either. It's not like we were exactly a destination club until 2021. From what I recall, most players that have arrived at the club all stated at the time that they were super impressed with the approach and vision outline by Goody in their talks with him, but I dare say there are probably also others in our admin that quietly did a great job behind the scenes as well. I think that Melksham and Pig Dog could also be added to that list of great trading and I can hardly think of a trade bust that we've had in recient years.
  4. Also ironic that he played his first game against us as well. He well and truely got me riled when he played us that year, I think even more so the second time we played them at Docklands. It was a game I thought we should have been more than compeditive in and should have won, but they rolled us again, BBB went on to kick a bag of 3 goals or so and all the comentators could talk about was how rubbish the MFC were, but how North had found a good player in BBB. Couldn't believe our luck when he chose to come to us when North pretty much gave home away only a year or so after he'd accumulated more goals over a 3 year period than any other player in the comp. My youngest son has a jumper with the No.50 on it. Congratulations BBB. 150 games and a premership player for the Red and Blue - you've done well.
  5. Hawkins broke Steve May's face non-deliberately and got zero weeks. I can understand how umpires might struggle for consistency when they need to make 'in the moment' decisions, but the MRO tribuneral, whatever it is really doesn need to do much better. It's not rocket science.
  6. There is no justice in the penalties being handed out by the MRO at all on an individual level. A two week suspension doesn't really hurt established players like Ryan and Hawkins etc. Thought Chandler was pretty good when he came on in the last quarter and although Luke Dunstan is probably the most likely replacement for Harmes, I thought Chandler put his best foot forward with his limited game time. Two weeks right now is potentally costing Chandler a chance at establishing his career, for something which was pretty accidental and based on the bad luck of the consequence to the opposition player. Similar could be said for ANB when he was rubbed out in 2020.
  7. Technically you were right on the interstate call Flemo, with Spargs being from Aulbry and being a TAC Murray Bushranger, but his Wiki page also metions something about him being an with NSW/ACT in the U16 & 18 championships and a GWS Academy player, so we are lucky he slipped through that net. Your call somewhat surprised me at first as I only remembered the connection with his dad to North and that he was a Melbourne Grammar boy.
  8. Finals specialist. Really stood up and turned it on in 2018 as well.
  9. Yep, spot on Webber. What do they say about a picture telling 1000 words! Finally got to see my one in the new year and it's even more magnificent in full size in person. Love your work mate.
  10. Jay would destroy him. Got a mate in Adelaide that played with Jay and reckons he's about the strongest bloke he'd ever come across on a footy field.
  11. They called Ted Whitten 'Mr Football' . I reckon that Jack is competing with Steve May for the title of 'Mr. Intensity'. On a related note, the elevation of Max as Captain was a master stroke for our leadership, however in stepping back a bit to become vice captain, I don't think that has diminished Jack's leadership role at all. Jack and Max seem to be pretty much the perfect conterballance for each other within the leadership space and in listening to both of them speak, it's clear that there is a strong bond, mutual respect and acknowledgement that together they make up a formidable partnership in leading the mighty MFC.
  12. I think Qld has compulsory 3rd party and also has ambulance cover worked into rego and/or licence costs as well. While I'd be pretty surprised if cost was a factor for Majak, I also don't think people should discount how bloody difficult the various road authorities are making it to keep track of being registered or not as well. Since I'd say most jurisdictions have done away with physical rego stickers, it can actually be challenging to keep track of and find out if you are actually registered or not. I reciently had to do this for one of my cars and asides from the banking transaction on my end that I'd reasonably well labeled, it was a mission and a half or garbage web pages and automated 'customer service' phone lines that didn't yeild any meaningful results. In the end the Qld Department of Transport and Main Roads customer service department was outsourced to my messenger freinds group who pointed me in the direction of an app that would return rego status of a given rego number, but if I wasn't looking for this info in the first place, I would have been none the wiser. Technology making our lives easier - yeah right!
  13. Holding two different teams goalless until half time?
  14. I'd actually feel a little mixed. Apreciated the way the WC supporters got around the MFC at last year's grand final. But still want to beat the bejesus out of both WC and North. That's what great sides do. No mercy Demons, it's redemption time for all the pain inflicted on us as a supporter base over the years.
  15. Ohhh, how great would it be for Meth Coast to have a period of being down for an extended period. They have had it way too good for too long. Outside of Hawthorn, they are pretty much the most successful team of the AFL era and totally deserve to feel the pain of a sustained period without sucess. With Freo showing some form right at the moment, hopefully they will be the ones that attract the players of any quality, wanting to play finals, while WC just attract the go home lossers who just want to go back to mummy and some cash. As Angus Brayshaw so eloquently expressed it "I'd rather eat a steaming plate of my own..." than play for West Coast.
  16. I lost my MFC scarf somewhere at Perf airport on the way through last Sunday night. Never mind, I'm sure there will be pleanty of Eagles supporters looking for a different team to follow soon, who might as whell get on board the Demon train!!
  17. Personally, I like the traditional of the father/son rule, but I think the academies should be abolished in as far as they currently exist. Somewhat annoys me that we miss out on getting our cream, when others like the Bulldogs and Sydney have had their lick of the ice cream (and Sydney is still at the Ice cream shop lining up for more). However, if it's not regulated and moderated, I could easily see this going back to be like the old 80s zone system, where those with the most productive zones consistently get the best players, or a higher proportion of them. For the benifit of the game overall, I think it would be much better if the league/clubs put more money into developing elitle talents at TAC clubs etc and through providing more development and administration support at local grass roots weekend footy (excluding the private school boy stuff that is already generally funded and resourced to the hilt). Could employ a bunch more of the ex/retired AFL level footballers and assist them to transition to life after football and still utilise and leverage their elite skills and professional sporting background to teach these same skills and ethos to the lower levels and next gen of up and commers.
  18. ...and repeats and repeats and repeats. It took me a little to warm to Goody's pressers, but he still won me over fairly early. You can see why the players love him and respond to him. So much consistency and simplicity in his messages.
  19. Agreed. And he's regularly getting amoung the goals too. Hearing Max and Goody talk post premership, it's pretty clear that the regards with which Jack was held within the team differed substantially from those of us supporters on the outer and that his personal leadership and relentless drive for competitiveness and setting high standards was super important to our sucess. Now that has been widely acknowledged and with the proof in the pudding of the premership, he can just go about being himself and not be criticized externally for it.
  20. Should pickup the scoring at will from where we left off in the 3rd and 4th quarters. I want to serverly embarrass WC and put Will Schofield back in his place. We should try to beat them by so much and stick it so far up their behinds that they never want to come back to Perth.
  21. When you play in a side that has Clarry, Trac, Gawn, Lever, May, Salem, Langdon, getting picked 5th or 6th is a pretty decient effort!
  22. Only seen the stats sheet that James Harmes kicked two goals today and was listed amoung the best players again. Continues his trend of solid, consistent good form this season. Really glad this bloke has been able to lift himself back to playing his best footy again and cement himself a position in the team at the moment, when he looked to be a bit on the margins a few years ago. Melbourne supporter who has had to battle work really hard to get where he is. Well done Harmsy, champion Demon through and through.
  23. First game I haven't been able to watch live in any form for a while today. Last couple of times that happened was Vs the Dog and GWS second time around last year, so very happy with the result today.
  24. Nice - so what of that will you indulge us with today Ethan?
  25. Thanks JTR, I'd seen it before as well, but certainly enjoyed seeing it again. How bloody cool would it be for Trac just to rock on down to training and join in like that! Great to see.
