the draw doesnt really matter. financial equalisation does. exposure on free to air tv does. it builds memberships and allows kids to support various teams. its a disgrace the bigger, richer clubs get the prime timeslots - it allows them to become bigger and richer - which allows them to spend more money on their footy departments, which makes the team better, which means they get the prime timeslots. a game against a lowly team here or there is peanuts compared to this.

in her latest article Tippett legal demand to be set free, Wilson has the following to say regarding Chris Judd and Visy:- "There has been no suggestion that Carlton wrote to Visy to set up the deal." For someone who is meant to be an investigative journalist she is shocking at missing the obvious - which is that Carlton's president at the time, Richard Pratt, was also in charge of Visy and that even now, Mrs. Pratt is the Vice President. Surely, Wilson can add 2+2?

the timing of the punishment is irrelevant. this draft or next - due process must occer. (dont get me wrong, i think they are guilty a sin. i also find it EXTREMELY interesting that tippets manager is also tom scullys manager)

there is enough evidence to have a hearing. they will have one. the adelaide people have been charged. they also have a right to defend themselves, and a right to be able to do that properly.
-
the individuals that have been charged at adelaide need time to prepare their defences. this is absolutely appropriate and reasonable. it would be very unreasonable to do anything other than give them some time to do so. it has nothing to do with the draft etc.

Another gem of an article from Martin Flanagan
biggestred replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
i have so far not encountered one person on social media or comments on the age website that disagrees with martin. if the crowds are falling when they have an extra game and they maximise games for attendances (ie blockbusters at times that people want to go to and average games v interstate teams on sunday arvos), then youd have to think alarm bells are ringing -
Who would you add/remove from the Leadership Group?
biggestred replied to cooko's topic in Melbourne Demons
put IN the 7 or so players who get voted in. the end. -
dunno about that. the bombers always come out flying at the start of the year. we tend to wait for them to get to 9/10 wins then wreck their season.

i decided ages ago that she has obviously never been part of a team - she picks up on stuff and makes a big deal out of things that a team player would shrug their shoulders at. i dont have an example but as someone who works closely in a team professionally every day and also has played team sports since the age of 8, i wouldnt want her in my team for anything.

tappy is so big that when he runs he makes the earth rotate. -
good. i want a standalone team.

the leadership group SHOULD be voted on every year. no one gets dropped - you get re-appointed according to your work ethic and leadership ability. if these drop off then you should not be re-appointed. this is the only way to keep people accountable. reason for edit: grammar

maybe, just MAYBE, if everything - and i mean EVERYTHING - goes right for us on and off the field, we MIGHT scrape in. ill be happy with 8-10 wins.

except for the part that we'd won 4 games to that point and the saints had won 19 and were a month from just losing an epic grand final, while we were 2 days away from mad monday.
