I certainly have noticed improvement in the kicking department, but yesterday I just thought he was a bit off with his deiciosn making. A lot of times he took a bit too long to dispose of it. But overall not as much to worry about as there might have been.

I'm so glad I will never have to go to a game again and hope that my team loses. There was an a-hole of a St Kilda supporter in front of me yesterday, making fun of us all every time they kicked a goal. Just the kind of loser I'd love to turn on if we could win.

6 - Sylvia 5 - Jurrah 4 - Frawley 3 - McDonald 2 - Morton 1 - Cheney

A major point is that the loser of St Kilda v Collingwood gets Adelaide (certainties to thrash Essendon), whilst the loser of Geelong v Bulldogs gets Brisbane or Carlton. Bris or Carlton much easier than Adelaide. Big plus for Doggies should they lose to Geelong.

Caro's just had a massive go at Hawthorn on 3AW. Both at Brown and at Clarkson, for being bad sports, bordering on bringing the game into disrepute. Have to agree with her. They've got no basis for their actions.

Adelaide will thump Essendon next week, and will have a serious chance at knocking off Collingwood/Geelong in week 2. They are a very good team, with a potent forward line, strong defence (with Bock to return, amazingly) and good midfield too. Mind you, Carlton aren't much defensively. I mean, we almost scored 100 points against them last week. Any team with a half-dencent defence will beat Carlton.

Whilst Lloyd's bump was on a par, if not worse, than Franklin's, Campbell Brown's comments after the game were pathetic and he should immediately apologise. To call Lloyd a 'sniper', when he has never once been reported for anything against Hawthorn (whereas Brown copped 4 weeks for something against Essendon once) is pretty poor. All this after Hawthorn was going nuts over Franklin's suspension not one week ago. Rude and wrong. I really dislike him. Very true, that. Finals are just something else, aren't they? Meanwhile, I'm off to the 'G today without a care in the world about the result of the match. Sad times, but hopefully today marks the end of this.

Yeah, awful story that. Really awful. It's not been a good year for players returning from long-term injuries. There's been Coughlan, who's now been delisted, Muston, who's been in and out of the side, and now Bailey.
-
Hawthorn become the first premier in 10 years to miss the finals the following year. WOOOHOOOO!!!! At Essendon's expense, which will no doubt frustrate many on this site, but I like Essendon, and I hate Hawthorn more than any other team (except Collingwood, of course). Good game, though.

1) There's a drafting and trading board for these threads 2) If the draft was held today, Trengove would most likely be our pick 2. But as Rojik said, in 3 months who know what may happen. But atm, I think Trengove is in front of Morabito.
-
That would be nice, but there's no way the AFL will allow it, considering they've just moved the draft into a prime-time spot so that Foxtel can make a big deal about it. They want the focus to be in November, not October.

Yes he did. Stood out above the Richmond ineptitude.

Melbourne v St. Kilda - the squads

I would be very disappointed if McNamara was delisted. Especially considering the likes of Newton, Bell, Dunn, Miller, Johnson and Bartram won't all be going. McNamara and Cheney are much younger and I think both have shown some promising signs this year. With limited game time, too. -

Yeah, that report about McKenzie being injured was wrong, I guess. This could well be a farewell game for Bartram, Miller and/or Dunn. Valenti and Johnson are also in a bit of trouble. -

Ooh, I forgot to mention this. Last night on The Footy Show, Hutchy mentioned that Melbourne is going to extend Bailey's contract by 1 year around March/April next year. The decision seems to have been made already, from the way Hutchy sounded. But if they were so certain on him coaching in 2011, why not sign him now?

Melbourne v St. Kilda - the squads

Why wouldn't he? He is on the bench. PJ's career must be close to finished. We played 4 ruckmen, and he's the one who got the chop. Disappointed with the bench. I'd like all those players to get a game this week. Instead, we get more of Bartram and Miller. What's one game going to show us, anyway? I would have thought the FD would know by know what they're going to do with them. I'm hoping for the bench to read: Jamar, McKenzie, Whelan, McNamara. Tough on Martin and Bennell, but we know the upside of those players more than we know about McNamara and McKenzie. Valenti, for mine, hasn't done enough. Our commitment to playing Whelan and Wheatley keeps some players out. -
1. Davey 2. Moloney 3. Sylvia

He kicks on both feet. I'm sold.
-
Highly doubt this. If true, he will have done something off-field, likening this to the Carroll situation. I'm sure it's not true though.

In order of chance to win the flag: Pies, Saints, Dogs, Crows, Blues, Cats, Lions, Whoever finishes 8th. Geelong is gone. Ling, Milburn, Scarlett, Mooney all way, way down on 08 and 07. Chapman and Johnson underdone leading into finals. Game over. St Kilda, at their best, is the best team. But they may well have peaked. Collingwood is currently the best team in the competition. Means nothing until 5pm on GF day, but at the moment I'd be betting on them. Adelaide is a definite smokey, as many have already said.
-
I think the biggest indictment on Johnson is this: both PJ and Martin have been tried in all sorts of positions: forward, defence, ruck, on-ball. And in every one of them, Martin looks, plays, and performs better than Johnson. I don't think there is anything PJ can do that Martin can't. Plus Martin has a lot of development in him. So I can't justify keeping PJ on the list when we have a player like Martin who is basically his superior.
-
What do people think of Jamar, Johnson, Spencer, Meesen and Martin? Who should we keep? Which are the brightest prospects? For me, I think Jamar and Spencer are the way to go. Meesen showed a bit until he got injured, but I haven't seen enough yet. Martin does OK in the ruck, but I feel he's wasted there. I'd prefer him to play forward. Barring an outstanding contract, Johnson goes at the end of this year.

Given what Prismall got last year (yes, I know he had a knee reco), I doubt Sylvia would command anything decent (i.e. top 20). Would definitely not be worth it.
