  1. Good ball movement and clever play from Gus ends up with a Hogan mark, and it was good body use to take that mark too. Hogan goes back and....GOALS! Great stuff!
  2. I sound like a broken record, but their goal just came from another turnover. ANB handballed blindly and it ended in the hands of an Eagles player which, in turn, became a goal. We have to get much better with that.
  3. Spot on, Paul. Don't get sucked in mate. We're making some errors, no doubt about it, but we've had some excellent play as well.
  4. Made hard work of it, but good goal to Jones. The deliberate against Wellingham was a horrible decision. Only 3 points down, still well and truly in it, even though most in here have written off half the side.
  5. Again, another turnover kills us. The Harmes kick inside 50 was poor. The ball movement to get there was terrific, with O Mac taking a risk across ground that paid off.
  6. You're right, just feel like it needs to be said for those who might be relying on supporters posting here tonight. It's easy to get sucked into the group speak.
  7. One thing that stands out, and I think someone else mentioned it, is that we're a little too tall in the forward line. It doesn't matter too much tonight, but we can't go in to Round 1 with Hogan, Watts, Weideman and Spencer there. Saints will kill us on the rebound.
  8. I'm annoyed, I just chose not to post about it as I thought the 20 others in here at the moment would be all over something negative.
  9. To those who can't watch: Turnovers are what is killing us. Eagles didn't make it count though so we've got time to make amends. For us, Oliver, Melksham and ANB have probably been the pick of the players so far. It's not as bad as others are making out, though. We are well and truly in the game.
  10. Coughed up a goal through another turnover at half forward. If we can fix that up then we'll be okay. Eagles too good on the rebound if we continue to do it, though.
  11. How good is Oliver? Such good vision! Garland has been better than the McDonald brothers so far. We love it @stevethemanjordan. Melksham has been good across half back too!
  12. Only thing hurting us right now are the turnovers. Otherwise we're playing pretty well.
  13. Our pressure on the footy is excellent. We certainly don't play 'bruise free footy' anymore.
  14. Playing well early for those who can't see the game. We are pressuring them well across our half forward line and using it pretty well. Gus kicks the first of the game!
  15. Should I mention Tom McDonald's first kick for the game, which was under no pressure? Should I?
  16. Commentators already spending most of the pre-game waffling on about Watts. Just watch them analyse every bloody touch he gets for the night, it's going to be terribly annoying.
  17. The Dogs certainly turned the screws in the second half, while the Suns totally hit a wall. Pretty huge turn around considering the Suns were over 50 points up in the second quarter.
  18. It's all I've got these days, Dan! If I can't be positive then I may as well pack up and go home.
  19. Suns have looked pretty impressive so far against the Dogs, who don't look as though they're trying all that hard. GAJ has spent most of his time forward and already jagged a couple, he'll be dangerous in that role for them this year.
  20. I've got no doubt that he can improve it. I always thought that, later in his career, his old man was a more reliable kick than he was earlier in his career, and if Jack can follow the same trajectory then we've got an extremely good player on our hands (if he isn't close to that already!)
  21. I'm actually pretty pumped about tonight's game. I know others might think we could be in for a decent loss, but we should have beaten them over in Perth last year and even though we're missing a few we're still taking a pretty strong squad over with us. Their forward line could cause some havoc if our spread isn't working and we aren't winning enough clearances, but I feel as though we're taking a team over there that will be able to match them in terms of running capacity throughout the game. I might be looking through the red and blue goggles, but I believe our midfield is a little strong than their's as well. There is no reason why we can't win this game.
  22. It's an interesting issue, though - does his kicking, which can be inconsistent at times, hold him back from being an elite player? His contested ball skills, running capacity, leadership, courage etc are, to me, already elite, if not close to it. But his kicking can most definitely let him down. I don't think it holds him back too much as he is in the contested situations more often than not and firing out handballs rather than kicking, but if he can make his kicking more consistent over that 35-40m bracket then he will up his game even more.
  23. This topic here is what you call a discussion, where supporters log on to discuss topics just like they would at a game, at home, in a pub etc. That's all it is. No one was bagging out Jack, but it's a fair point on his kicking and people were discussing it in a civil manner. Why you feel the need to show up and rubbish it is beyond me. I find it ironic that you say you know what Jack is working on because you speak to him - i thought you didn't believe what they say? Or do you pick and choose those moments to suit your posting?
