Tough quarter for us. I thought we actually controlled large parts of it, but once again the turnovers let us down and we allowed them to kick some very easy goals. The same players who were up and about at half time continued on in the third. If we could clean up our disposal going forward then we could have hit the scoreboard more. Make no mistake - the Eagles are a highly talented, well drilled outfit who know their own deck like the back of their hand. This result is not necessarily unexpected.

Tyson is having a mare, no doubt about it. Still had 19 possies though and he'll be better for the run. He is a certainty for Round 1.

Even Jordan Lewis is missing simple targets at the moment. It's the only way the Eagles are scoring right now. We dominated the last few minutes and couldn't make it count.

Agree with all of that. I think the knocks on the Mac's disposal is valid in some respects, but, you only need to watch Tom clunk some great marks across half back to see his value to the side. Oscar will only continue to improve as well, and when our midfield provides the right support they look good.

I so want to like ANB - I love his attack on the footy, he gets to the right spots, has a dip etc. He just makes too many mistakes, and he's cost us a few goals tonight. Same can be said of Harmes. Handy depth players to have.

We're 8 points down in Perth against a full strength Eagles side who will push for Top 4 this year. We are not playing great footy, but to suggest the Saints will smash us is a little far fetched.

Possibly, but I still think it's too tall. We need those smalls to sit at their feet and provide the pressure. The Eagles have been running it out of there too easily tonight and I think being too tall is part of the problem.

I agree with Brayshaw - he hasn't had it a lot, and apart from one bad kick early in the game, he's had a hand in a few goals while getting one himself. Both McDonalds had a better second term after a tough start, too. It's hard when you turn the ball over at half forward and they run it down there with ease.

I'd rubbished that idea a month ago. I'm not convinced yet, and they maybe me being stubborn, but he has certainly done more than Weideman at this point. The one thing that won't happen is having Hogan, Watts, Spencer and Weed in the same side. We're too top heavy with that.

Not yet, I'm assuming he'll get a run in the second half, possibly at the expense of someone like Tyson.

Oliver has easily been the standout. Hogan has kicked two and presented well, while Lewis and Salem have been the other picks of our midfield. Spencer, dare I say it, has been good too and has given more of a contest than Weideman has at this point.

8 points down at half time. Turnovers and a few decisions have hurt us, and have allowed the Eagles to play their game which has resulted in some easy goals. I don't mind it happening tonight as it will highlight something to work on for the team, as the Saints will try and do the same thing. On the flipside, we've played some positive footy and used it quite well. When it's worked, it's looked great and we've been able to kick some goals. Oliver has clearly been our best, he is just sensational. Hogan, Salem, Lewis and probably Watts have been good too. Lots to like with some things to work on as well. Not even close to the doom and gloom some are giving here.

Spencer free kick and it's back to 2 points. Our pressure and run through the middle, when it works, has been great and that pressure helped us get that goal. Our kick hands and better decision making was good, too.

This is the big one for me. We're struggling once the ball hits the deck. A Kent/Garlett combo would be handy right about now.

Played into their hands with the kick down the line, got it down there too easily for a LeCras goal from the pocket. As soon as McGovern took the mark they were away.
