I guess a defeatist attitude is disappointing for the first pre season game of the season. I don't expect us to win either, but that's not the sentiment I take into a pre season game. Much more to it than a win that means little in the grand scheme of the year ahead.

You struggle to see us winning anything so you'll forgive me for taking this view with a grain of salt.

Very true WJ, although he lived off that draft a little. He made some big errors in the superdraft of 2001, but on the whole he drafted pretty well.

Very true. It's a shame that's part of the deal. If they offered better coverage they could get far more money out of it but, as you say, their interests seemingly lie elsewhere.

Is Showcase premium now? Damn it!! I didn't know that. I get what everyone else is saying, though. I guess I was just complaining out loud about it and I'm genuinely gob smacked as to why the AFL can't see the value in making their online service much better than it is. I'm sure people would pay a little more so they can stream on TV, and I'm also certain they can get lots of advertising at quarter time, half time etc as well. I might be naive about it all but I just wish the AFL would see sense for once.

I just don't understand why the AFL doesn't embrace the online world like it should. They would have tens of thousands of subscribers if they offered lots of options, but instead they act as if it's still 1997 and not 2017. I just don't understand it. I've got Foxtel so it doesn't worry me as such, but then I've only really got it for Fox Footy. I'd happily get rid of Foxtel and get a good, online service, but Telstra and the AFL just treat us with disrespect.
