Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Gibbs to Adelaide, Lever to Melbourne, our first rounder this year and a second rounder next year to the Blues. They won't be interested in any of our players, and we won't offer the ones they will have interest in. Maybe the Crows chuck in a second rounder of some sort as well to go to the Blues. Carlton wanted two first rounders last year, so one first rounder and two seconds might get the job done.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Sounds like he is just laughing off the rumours, not necessarily laughing at the prospect of coming to us. He would probably say the same thing if the rumour was about him meeting with Collingwood or the Dogs. Not surprised that it didn't take place, though. Seems a little unprofessional to me, plus the Crows are flying at the moment and are a big chance of winning it all. You would at least wait until the season is done before really looking at your options.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Don't be so touchy, LH. I wasn't having a go in the slightest, just an observation I made. Wasn't trying to be personal at all, hence why I put the winking face at the end. I thought you would see it that way but I'm sorry that you didn't.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
King was obviously drunk when he talked about it. When you could get it done for a first round pick, you get it done for a first round pick. Plus with everything Jesse has been through, there is no chance we trade him. The kid has 10 years of footy ahead of him and he is only going to be better. Edit - @Lucifer's Hero, I wonder how you would go if you were banned from either posting a link or have a post with italics in it. You wouldn't know what to do with yourself!

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Brown's no gorilla - he has no jump on him and he rarely wins a contested mark in a stationary, one on one situation. He is just an absolute gun at reading the ball and his leading patters are brilliant.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
I interpret it that way as I'm comparing it to other sports that use the free agency model. Often players will meet with other clubs, or their manager drops a few things in the media, to spook their current team into offering a better deal. Obviously that is not the case with all players, but at the same time he keeps saying how happy he is over there - to me, meeting with other clubs is a tool to get the Crows to up their offer. I'll be stoked if he signs with us as well, although I'd be very, very surprised if he's personally met with us during the season. I'm not even sure if that's allowed.

Sounds like he is using us as leverage (heh) to get a better deal out of the Crows.

Glaring weakness in defence
You are all over this topic, binman, and you have been spot on in most of your assessment. To simply blame our tall backs for the issues we have it short sighted, naive and show a distinct lack of understanding about our defensive game and the zone we are using.

Clarence Oliver
This makes the most sense, IF they want to manage him. It also looks like Maynard is waiting in the wings as well if we need some extra re-inforcement around the contest. But I'm banking on Oliver playing out the remaining 5 games.

Zak Jones
Yep, that's fair. I forget that sometimes. I'm certainly not against getting him, just interested to see where people think he fits in our side.

Zak Jones
Serious question about Zac and I'll preface this by saying that I really like him as a player. If we went after him and got him, who does he replace in our best 22? I feel like our best 22 is a very, very good side that would be hard for some to get into. They seem to have been playing him off half back and through the wings, so it will be interesting to see where he fits within our side if we are able to get him. I just hope we don't offer up too much in return.

Jake Spencer for Jake Lever and their first round pick. Over to you Josh Mahoney.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Is that a sensible trade scenario I see? It's like the Aurora Borealis.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MICHAEL HIBBERD
It's a shame, too, as I usually don't mind his stuff. But he let his bias get in the way big time, which is evident in him having 4 Bombers in his 'AA' team.

This is also off the back of his article on Saturday about how the Bombers 'can beat anyone'. Turn it up, Velvet.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
The Blues will chase anything in orange. They can't really develop their own talent all that well, outside of Cripps, so they need to get it from elsewhere.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Or that's just Buckenara mentioning him as someone they should go after.

No doubt she'll have some leverage.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Not mine, although I'm with you in that Oscar and Frosty don't have me worried every time the ball goes in their direction. Both make the odd mistake, but then who doesn't? They are acquitting themselves well and will only get better. We do need more insurance for our backline though, so I'm not against another tall backman, but is that one Lever? I'd love him at the club but not sure we will offer an amount that will trump other clubs.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
How do we get Jake Lever? Cue the 'second round pick and ANB' calls from most supporters. I'd love him at the club but I can't see him leaving at this stage. The Crows do have a history of losing key defenders, though that's clutching at straws a little.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
Has officially re-signed with the Suns. It's a two year deal, so he could be back in play in 18 months time, but it takes him off the table for now.
-
Time to show Oscar some respect!
Careful mate. The last person who started a similar hashtag has fallen off the face of the Earth, never to return. No need to give yourself the same fate!
-
Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
I don't think our efforts were towards May in the first place. If we're as keen on Lever as they say we are then you would assume we would have put all our energy towards getting him back to Victoria.

Disposal Efficiency
How can you claim it means anything when you admit yourself that the back line players get the ball under less pressure than the midfielders? You just made your own analysis redundant with that comment.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Not allowed to mate, sorry. The crux of the article is that we, along with others like the Dogs and Hawks, are interested in either Lever or McStay from Brisbane. Mentions that Garry Lyon said Lever could be worth upwards of 800k. Nothing suggests Lever wants out, just that his contract is up at the end of the year and he has delayed talks.
