Oliver Green F/S
Pretty sure I read that the massive power forward thought to be Matty Whelan's son was another Matty Whelan. Haha

Really getting tired of clubs (Gold Coast, Hawthorn, St. Kilda, etc.) wooing a player, getting them to nominate, and then not being able to deliver a FAIR deal for both parties. We have stated we wanted a player... if you woo a player, be prepared to give something in return. Don't say "By the way, player X who wants to go home is off the table". It is bullsh*t!

Nah, that was old school Photoshop. Only AI was to remove Max Heath from the original and preserve the background. The rest of it was just good old-fashioned Photoshop.

Maybe Bailey has been playing 4D chess with us all along. Based on the tattoo on his forearm, I'm expecting an announcement at 4pm.

Had to do something to set it apart from the authentic one. Hahaha. Here is an updated one and an action photo if someone wants to shoot him an Instagram message to show him what he could look like in the red and blue.

Farewell Christian Petracca
100%... I am a bit over how much they want their cake and eat it too. 1 - THEY knew they had academy kids coming in. If they don't want to risk them, then don't offer Petracca the world and have him nominate you. 2 - THEY want to get a 4x All Australian Norm Smith Medallist, but will only offer us two picks in a heavily compromised draft and then expect us to part with a pick which has a bit of currency to it so they can get their academy kids. 3 - THEY have a player who wants out, but they are holding him to his contract. By trading him out, they'd get the 4x All Australian Norm Smith Medallist they've promised the world to, and they'd also preserve points for a academy kids... but no, he is off the table. They're a joke! If we only get picks AND give up Pick 24 as well, I will be absolutely ropeable!

The thing is the AFL need a few big trades to go through on the last day for their Fox Footy rush to the trade finish line. We are going to need to be patient I reckon... as difficult as that is.

Petracca sucks it up and comes back to us with tail between his legs. King has already insinuated that. Unless Gold Coast pay up, he stays. They can give us Walter or some other young gun if they want him bad enough, and it is up to them to convince their player to come to us.

Well, looks like Petracca suits up for us next year. If our list managers accept anything less than Humphrey (minimum) for Petracca, then we are a league laughing stock. I don't care that Gold Coast says he is off the table... unless he comes to us, Petracca is off the table too.

Well, I guess GC don't want a Norm Smith Medallist on their list.

Rumours
Yep, I floated that hypothetical this morning and I just reposted it in another thread: Melbourne give: Petracca, Oliver, Pick 24. Melbourne get: Humphrey, Flanders Gold Coast give: Humphrey, Flanders Gold Coast get: Petracca, Pick 12 GWS give: Pick 12 GWS get: Oliver, Pick 24 I could stomach that... and no team really loses

Stuff St. Kilda... Melbourne give: Petracca, Oliver, Pick 24. Melbourne get: Humphrey, Flanders Gold Coast give: Humphrey, Flanders Gold Coast get: Petracca, Pick 12 GWS give: Pick 12 GWS get: Oliver, Pick 24 Melbourne gets two young gun midfielders and a salary dump. Gold Coast gets their gun mature age finals performer and a pick to satisfy academy selections. GWS get Oliver for a 12 pick downgrade in a [censored] draft. Can't see a loser in that.

Melbourne give: Petracca, Oliver, Pick 24. Melbourne get: Humphrey, Flanders Gold Coast give: Humphrey, Flanders Gold Coast get: Petracca, Pick 12 GWS give: Pick 12 GWS get: Oliver, Pick 24 Something like this possibly? We have said we want players, not picks. I think we are also looking to dump salary, so we need to give some incentive to other clubs to let us do this. Oliver's destination may be Adelaide rather than GWS, in which case Pick 12 becomes Pick 14. Pretty much same deal though. This gives our midfield a complete revamp. Two fresh faces that have been under King before. I could stomach this if we had to lose Petracca and Oliver.

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
Correct me if I am wrong, did Guerra not say in a radio interview that Petracca and Oliver were both listed as best 22 players in Steven King's coaching presentation? The last week would suggest otherwise. So who is talking rubbish? King in his coaching presentation, or Guerra in his radio interview?

100%, and I think that is why there is a difference in how Clarry is viewed versus Trac. One rarely talks in the media and struggles to fully articulate himself the best when he does, but he has he shown nothing but genuine love towards the club and a genuine want to stay. The other has a huge social media presence, is much better at expressing his point, and yet has shown comparatively little love towards the club. It is disappointing. As has been said already, this sort of talk could easily be shut down... but there is nothing but silence. Whoever is advising him needs to open their eyes and ears a bit as to what the supporters want to hear.

Equalisation
Not worried about West Coast, you'll see why below... but current 'equalisation' is a rort. Have a look at the grand finalists of the last 25 years: This years preliminary finalists, and I have added Sydney and West Coast to it for even greater reading: 01- Brisbane 🏆 02 - Brisbane 🏆 Collingwood 03 - Brisbane 🏆 Collingwood 04 - Brisbane 05 - Sydney 🏆 West Coast 06 - West Coast 🏆 Sydney 07 - Geelong 🏆 08 - Hawthorn 🏆 Geelong 09 - Geelong 🏆 10 - Collingwood 🏆 11 - Geelong 🏆 Collingwood 12 - Sydney 🏆 Hawthorn 13 - Hawthorn 🏆 14 - Hawthorn 🏆 Sydney 15 - Hawthorn 🏆 West Coast 16 - Sydney 18 - West Coast 🏆 Collingwood 20 - Geelong 22 - Geelong 🏆 Sydney 23 - Collingwood 🏆 Brisbane 24 - Brisbane 🏆 Sydney Only '17, '19, and '21 have not featured this years preliminary finalists + Sydney and West Coast.

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
My 'partner' in this instance is the MFC though, not a bloke who tried to storm out of it last year though. I did love him pre- what happened last off-season, but he was selfish in how he approached it. Have I turned on him since then, yes... have I turned on the club, not in the slightest.

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
As I said in a post a few weeks back... I never really got the love back for Trac after last season, so if he wants to go, then he can go. Petracca + a bundle of 3rd/4th round picks to GC for Pick 6, Pick 13 and Flanders. It is honestly a win-win in my opinion. Gives us another solid look at the draft before the FIGJAMs enter the competition in 2028, plus a good young up-and-comer from them. Gives them the game-breaker they need to take them another level, and the bundled late rounders give them currency to get their 3x Top-20 academy picks (2x Top 5).

I've never got that love back for Trac after what happened end of last year. On one hand you had a bloke who had personal issues, was pushed out by the club as a result of those (two years in a row), and still has an obvious love for the joint and is happy to make that known and wants to make up for what he did. Yes, it was his own doing that caused those problems, but he has never really wavered in giving 100% to the club since it all went down. I respect that. On the other hand, you have a bloke who felt aggrieved by the club (and fair enough), but then made it all about himself to get out of the place. It really destabilised the club at the end of last season. Whilst he has since come back to the club, there are times he sulks, and he just seems very 'me me me'. The irony is that in trying to build brand Trac5, he actually damaged it with regards to MFC supporters. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to keep both... but if I had to decide between one or the other I am keeping Clarry for the reasons I've stated above. Maybe things are seen differently inside the walls of the club, but that's how I see it from the outside.

I reckon the last month or so he started to show a bit of the Clarry of old. I'm definitely keeping him if he wants to stay. Coming from an strength and conditioning background (TAC Cup and AFL) myself, his turbulent off-field issues and then injuries last year can't be ignored as to reasons why he has battled to reach is peak form in recent seasons... but he really seems to be past all that (hopefully). Let's not forget how good this bloke was at his peak and what he achieved in just 6-7 years in the competition. Best midfielder we've had since Flower and daylight to second. He has only just turned 28, it is not like he is 32 and unlikely to reach that peak again. Keep keep keep!

Farewell Judd McVee
I'd love for him to stay... but it wouldn't be the first time a young player has said they're staying, only to up and leave. Cough $cully Cough

This is embarrassing
Having read about the lengths they're going to in order to avoid concussion payouts (including to Angus), I hope the club severs ties with them. It's a poor look in my opinion having their brand all over our merchandise when they can't even pony up a payout for one of past champions. I don't care what they pay us. Hopefully Guerra and co. can find a new main sponsor.

Luke Jackson back to Victoria?
Would anyone be against Petracca to Hawthorn, get their draft capital, and then use that to get Jackson back?
