Oh yeah, tiny little fella that he is .........

Neitz, Green back this week. Bell & Bruce to miss again
QueenC replied to WonnaJurah's topic in Melbourne Demons
I am fairly hopeful that they won't be rushing him back for anything....... If he is not fit, and playing will only cause further damage, in a season that is over then honestly I dont see the point. He will play his 300th just maybe not as soon as we (and he probably) would have hoped. Just my opinion, of course !!! -
Neitz, Green back this week. Bell & Bruce to miss again

That one works for me as well........ But the questions stands, what if Bruce hasn't come up yet? Riley basically said that Miller would be given the however many weeks left, to trial as a defender, in the post-match press conference after the Brisbane game. And as such I can't see him being dropped now, despite what happened in the first quarter last weekend. -
Great video Madness....... Fantastic production, and a worth while reminder of one of our better days for this season. The effort is greatly appreciated :D !!!

Unlikely for Byron this week....... Pickett stalled again

Davey facing two-game suspension

Cheers fella's :D !!!

Is it still making the news down there Rogue?

I will also echo these sentiments regarding the use of netball as a put down for football...... I played all women's throughout school and mixed after that, and had my nose broken, while a friend had one of her ribs fractured both from an elbow. But beyond that kind of rough stuff, it is a very hard and tough sport that does get kicked rather obnoxiously by a lot of footy fans.

Well, this unyeilding negativity only highlights the fact that we really only ever see exactly what we want to see, whether that be the good or the bad........ When truth be told the reality is almost always somewhere in between !!!
-
Or quite possibly counselling :D !!!
-
Well despite the attitude, I am with you on this completely, the members can make a difference, just not in this particular (coaching) instance....... And well said bub for the post below !!!
-
This might seem like a naive question, but aren't these things compulsory?
-
As a forward I have to agree with you...... But as a defender I don't think he has been given nearly enough time or training to gain necessary and vastly different skills set to make that judgement. He hasn't been there for any length of time and last night was a calamity from top to bottom that was not just of his making. Or what drdrake said !!!
-
Yep charming, that wasn't at all condescending, rude and off-putting...... Seriously, just because someone disagrees with you and isn't looking to kick up an unnecessary stink, doesn't make them stupid. I would have thought, given your attitude that dissent would be applauded, but I guess not. And just for curiosities sake, how are you going to make a difference on who the Melbourne Football Club selects as its new coach? Garnering information should not be the problem, it is how you use that information that matters. And that would come down to the board. And they are asking people who they believe wil best be able to find them what they are looking for. And unless you Alan want to have another go at me, I am seriously done having to explain myself over and over again.
-
Sydney for mine (and you thought your choice was going to be unpopular Jaded )..... I enjoyed being up here when they won the flag a couple of years ago, and I wouldn't mind seeing that happen again.
-
Look Alan I think we are going to go in circles forever if we keep this up ...... I do agree that the large scale outsourcing being employed could well be unnecessary, and could overly complicate things that shouldn't be and definitely don't need to be. But this is what it is, for better or worse, and while I may get splinters I am going to reserve judgement until we know more, or until they come up with a decision, because that is what this panel will, and should, be judged on in the end. I am not saying definitively that the process is the right one, or the wrong one. But it is the one, as I said, for better or worse. And I just hope that we get exactly what this club needs, because of, or in spite of this excessive "process". I hope that makes sense.
-
Unforutnatelt this is not particularly surprising........ I agree with you here as well Jaded...... But this is also not partcicularly surprising :D !!!
-
And Warren I am with you on this completely and unashamedly...... But what I was trying to say (apparently not that well) is that the club must have some idea of what kind of person they believe will get them there. And that all those many people involved, for one reason or another, must be deemed to have the knowledge, skill or experience (and I don't know the clubs criteria on the panel appointments) that the club thinks it needs on how to find that particular person which can get it and us to that ultimate objective. But I do agree that there does seem to be a hell of a of them, and that that may unnecessarily complicate the process. The club has appointed these people for a reason, we are looking for a coach, a coach that can win, and the club seems to believe that these people will be the ones who will find us that person. Are they the right people for this job? Which is what the current discord seems to be about, I honestly don't know (I don't know enough about the individuals involved apart from their public persona's), but in the end I hope so, which I guess makes me weak. I am not condemning or applauding the appointments, its way to early for that, in my opinion.
-
Well, when you go out of your way pull out everything I actually said it would seem fairly "blind" wouldn't it. Seriously what your problem? You have not come up with a suggestion just bitched about the process the club has put into place. So let me try again, and I hate the tone of these discussions. Of course the process should be simple and transparent to the best of their ability, and I said that, but obviously you chose to ignore it (didn't fit your personal criticism I guess). But in the end the club wants to hear from these people. Why? I can't answer that and neither can you, but what I am hoping (and if that is blind faith then so be it) is that the club makes the right decision for this massive role on the back of what this particular panel has to say. Is that so difficult to understand?
-
Maybe, maybe not....... From out here we have no specific idea what the club is exactly looking for, we can only hope that they have a notion of what we are all looking for as our new coach. Maybe the outsourcing was deemed to be the perceived best thing for the situation? I don't know, and I am not going to pretend to know. There does seem to be a hell of a lot of people involved, but honestly who cares as long as they make the right decision for the club. I guess the downside is that that won't be known until we are well into 2008. The reality is that the process should not be too complicated on the surface, but given we are bitching about who makes up the panel it is probably a little more so than expected, and while I am not convinced about all the names on that list (or the number) we have to think that they have a voice that the club wants to hear. All we can really do is hope that it is the right voice :D !!!

Thanks for such great review of such an ordinary display....... And this is the paragraph I found interesting, and I have a genuine question (and I am not looking to trash anyone, I just want an opinion) Has there been any marked improvement in the teams capabilities due to the changed regime at the beginning of the year? The comment regarding Miller being so much smaller than Brown is telling, especially since he is going to be asked to play on these kinds of guys if he stays in defence for any length of time. If this was to happen in the future (and don't start with the Miller bashing, that is not what we are here for, and he certainly isn't the only one in this kind of situation), you would think that he would have to bulk up some to be able to handle the rigours. But Miller is just one example in a room of plenty, and it has been been brought up before, so I was simply wondering if anyone here thinks that there has been any particular physical or football benefits to the training and apparent weight loss that the team went through at the beginning of the year? Are we actually faster or running out games better? Or are we getting pushed off the ball easier and beaten up with minimal effort in the physical contests? I am just curious about what people think, thanks !!!
-
Geez, you are going to pick at me on everything now aren't you? But while I agree with you in principle, I was talking particularly about last night. And how all circumstances should be taken into account before rendering judgment. We have the rest of this season to see who we will be taking in the next. So lets see what happens between now and then, shall we........
-
Simple statistics, I guess Ash..... He did kick four goals, therefore his probably looked better than everyon elses.
-
Well that was the point I was trying to make, albeit with (many) more words...... You are just far more succinct drdrake, cheers :D
