  1. Is that reasonable? 😁
  2. Afl360 was interesting last night. Robbo seemed to be surprisingly on point. He asked Whateley the question, so if a defender comes from behind with a swinging arm to the head in an attempt to spoil, which happens all the time, that should be banned? Whateley said no! Yet JVR went in with a straight arm and glanced him with his bicep and that's not ok? Whateley said no, that's not ok. They both were puzzled over the charge of striking. I think this will be how he gets off. He never swung an arm to strike at any point.
  3. Love the summation
  4. Mmm, I've always had to reconcile my feelings about the AFL by accepting they are basically operate as a political organisation. It's all about optics and grabbing more power. You want a footy team in Tassie? Build a new stadium with 3 thousand extra seats before we could possibly enter a team. Allegations of racism at Hawthorn? High profile coach at the centre of it has not even been interviewed yet. Betting scandal involving an umpire?....Crickets. Criticism that the game is a bit slow? Keep changing the rules making it more complex and irrational. Umpiring standards are woeful? Just chuck another one on the field. Litigation by former players around CTE? Better look like we're doing something about it. Let's find a scapegoat = MFC and JVR. They are a 7 X 24 spin cycle mates club machine. The AFL acts like a political party. It's all about how it looks. The only way JVR gets off is if the media howls the AFL down. So far so good. Even if he gets off, nothing will really change unless people stop attending or watching. If it wasn't for my passion for the MFC, there's no way I would be watching or attending this weird circus.
  5. [email protected] Having a wild stab that might possibly be his email. Might be nice to puff his inbox up a bit. Wouldn't bother with Gil
  6. Only if Max lies down on the ground and waits for a stretcher and..... it was not a high profile player from a high profile club who punched him in the head.
  7. Right there with ya @Dee Zephyr. Gotta stand up for the club but also have to stand up for this kid. I just loved his season last year. He's such a wonderful competitor who doesn't take a backwards step but just plays it hard AND FAIR. what a crappy thing for him to have to go through. The AFL is a media driven disgrace and the club must see this through now.
  8. Watched a replay of the 3rd qtr today and noticed that myself. Had to rewind and watch at normal speed to try and work out how King got a free kick dead in front 10 metres out. Still NFI
  9. I was at the game and close by. It was just a desperate spoil. Was it clumsy or wreckless? No, he looked where his opponents were and focussed solely on punching the ball. To say "he made him earn it" is utter BS. If Roo was going to make him earn it, he would have launched sideways and absolutely destroyed him with a hip and shoulder spoil. He actually put himself in danger by staying open to the contest with a sole intention to get a fist on the ball and took the contest chest on. It was a fantastic spoil nothing more.
  10. I think it might have been about 30 percent. We came alive in the last quarter. What was really good to see is that there seemed to be a significant increase in the amount of Demons supporters there than I've ever seen at a GC game before. Sustained success is the secret ingredient!
  11. That's an interesting stat @bandicoot. Maybe it's skewed by our better wins when there's not the pressure on the ball carrier and therefore better delivery? I still think our forward entries and then defensive efforts to lock it in need a lot of work this year. I'd be interested what others think. maybe I'm just making excuses for the likes of JVR and BBB
  12. Went to the game last night. Metricon is a great place to watch footy. You can sit on the grass outside or have a kick of the footy and be in your seat within 2 or 3 minutes for the start of the game. Perfect night for footy. No excuses Steven May is proppy. My wife and I were watching him closely early on. Even his gait when walking is uneven. He's running at 80 percent now and that lack of closing speed hurts us at the moment. Petty has to go back to cover this. We all agree. Our forward line. BBB comes in but it won't fix much. The beauty of a half empty stadium meant we could move to the opposite end to sit in the forward pocket in the last quarter and watch our forward line malfunction. This is our biggest problem at the moment. So many forward fifty entries were wasted. WE JUST DON'T LOWER OUR EYES. We can't rely on a young bloke to take screaming pack marks 4 times a game. We can't rely on Tracc trying to bend a dribbler in from the boundary when Grundy is standing front and square 15m out in the last quarter. The long bombs from 60 or 70 out have to stop. We are doing it at AFL and VFL level We were right in front of JVRs spoil in the last. It was a brilliant effort by him just to make the contest. Eyes only for the ball to try and lock the ball in which we're not doing well enough. It will be tragic if he goes for that gut running to make the contest. Field kicking was off for a lot of the night. We are missing Salem's disposal. Oliver was still very good. We are just not that good without Max. Jack Viney saved that game for us in the last. The strength he displays in packs is just something else. The Jui Jitsu (I think) training he's doing is helping him keep his feet so well and also stopping him from dangerous tackling in some ways. Umpiring - evened out after GC were gifted a handful up front earlier in the game. Well done to Gold Coast. They are no easy beats and were unlucky not to win I think the coaching staff have some serious work to do with how we are playing. From our defensive setups, our kickouts, our transition into the forward line. Another KPF ain't gonna fix it. We're in a great position considering we're not firing on all cylinders. Gotta be happy with the win. That's what good teams do.
  13. Will there be a pause in play while we all take the knee and pledge allegiance?
  14. I've got the volume off. What on earth is Mitch Robinson doing in the crowd with a Guernsey on? He can't quite retire yet? He's like Les McQueen from Creme Brulee
  15. The dude
  16. Mel Brooks was just a wonderful comedy producer
  17. Yeah, I feel like it's not the forward's fault exclusively. Both teams aren't delivering it that well to them at times. Still some work to do not just to bomb it in from 60 or 70 out. Which in a positive way, is great as both teams are near the top of the ladder and still have room to improve how they get it in to the forwards I think. I reckon we're running at 80 percent of our potential.
  18. Gee that's a pretty strong VFL side. I wish I'd known about this game earlier. Will be cruising around the Goldy in a boat. I'd rather be in an empty stadium drinking soap out of a plastic cup and watching our team. Should be a cracking game. The Suns must be slowly building into a competitive side at both levels
  19. So all it took to get this deal over the line was for the club to lock Kozzy in a room with Kochie for an hour in Adelaide last week (Joking)
  20. Goody said that Petty is doing pleasing things at both ends and will be straight back in.... Boom tish
  21. He is soooo cuddly. I just saw the president give him a big smooch at the end of the team song. Disgusting 😁
  22. Bowey is really working backing into some great form too
  23. We're in a virtual shootout with Carlton. Nice goal Jack
  24. Geez Tracc is still wobbly at set shots. I'm sure he'll come good if he keeps getting practice like this
  25. That free was just incredible. When are umps going to be relegated for trash like that?
