TEAMS: Rd 05 vs Hawthorn
I know thwy started the year with injuries but with Fritta out how many clubs like ours have all 3 main forwards out? Probably none. I hope Tmac and Lj keep doing the bussiness and our small forwards continue to dominate.

GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Hawthorn
Despite the Naysayers, I believe Tmac has been in great form excluding one game. If he turns it on today we will win comfortably.

Fritsch Out for 2 Weeks with Fractured Hand
At look least Tmac has been playing decent footy.

How funny was Max's scornful laugh when pinged for that terrible holding decision.

Thinking about the tigers game...not happy that we get 6 days off to their 8.?

CHANGES: Rd 05 vs Hawthorn
I agree. I think he will be selected for the tigers game. Nice spanner in the works for richmond.

CHANGES: Rd 05 vs Hawthorn
I think we will get the job done. May out us big, but we still held off the cats without him. Our midfield is simply dominating as is Max. Tmac is in good form as is Fritta. Kozzie to get a few more. Jackson to have a big game and its all over.

POSTGAME: Rd 04 vs Geelong
I always thought he was a very reliable said shot. But wouldnt it hurt tok tag him out and then have him kick 3 goals in a quarter. Very nice.?

CHANGES: Rd 05 vs Hawthorn
Great to have the depth of these two players. Im going to be honest and admit that I have had my doubts about Lever and Tomlison. I recall Lever's game in the territory several years back when he was taking intercept marks at will and thought he was the greatest addition we had made in years. Then the wheels fell off the whole team. Lever didnt seem bad but didnt appear great either. What he has showed this year and especially against the Cats is the real Jake Lever. Lever' s ability to read where the ball is going and if to mark or punch as well as finding targets by foot has been fantastic. I was also skeptical on Tomlison but he is playing some greaty footy as well. I wasnt a fan of Hunt in defence either. Was wondering why he was still at the club. Now he is getting votes. The irony is that one of our best defenders ever in Jetta is the only one struggling. But I really would not be surprised if he turned things around. Imagine him back to his best as well! Im starting to think this club is believing in themselves. Dees of old would have let the cats, giants and saints run over them. Lever running towards that cats player who made a poor footy bounce was a microcosm of this clubs new found confidence. Now with AA May sidelined we still have a very strong and capable backline.

Ed Langdon on RSN (13/4/21)
I hope he nails down that spot on the Mcg for a long time. A work rare of the highest standard. Probably our best and most consistent player.

Just wondering if anyone thinks Will b.brown be introduced before Weid and does anyone think it will happen in the tigers game?

Guilty as charged with Hunt. Total reversal in form. Tmac likewise. Full credit to them. I thought Lever has been rocky at times but now revealing the complete class that he is. Have always loved Fritra. Slight frame but incredible strength and speed goes with it.

Forgot to add that Lj sharing the ruck load is why Max is winning games for us.

Certainly gone to that level we were all hoping he would. Growing in confidence snd seems to be genuinely loving it out there. As are his fans.

My Round 5 Preview and Prediction
Our win against the cats was a lot bigger. We kicked poorly...one poster and 3 clangers should have been a 50 point margin. Shocking conditions too. Looking at 8 goal win v hawks.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
Hitouts v Cats. Blicavs 14, Jackson 12, Stanley 10. Clearances: Blicavs 1 Jackson 4 Stanley 3 Disposals: Blicavs 9 Jackson 10 Stanley 10 I was looking forward to him v Blicavs who is similar type of tall, athletic player who plays ruck and a key position. I thought physically he held his own against him in the stoppage ruck contests and didn't look physically overwhelmed at all. This is a huge step up for a 19 yr old tall. Watched the replay today and I think he did hold his own. I think what I observed on the weekend was that Max dominated compared to Lj in the ruck but yea he was alright. Notwithstanding Max is bigger and been doing it for many years.?

What’s our best 22 ?
Good choice. Maybe for me only swapping Weid and Melk after the cats game. Not like for like but weid is pretty athletic for his size. Great to see Gus playing so well again. Poor Jetta. Nothing would please me more and Im sure you to see him come back like Tmac. Has been one of the clubs best players.
