  1. Covid really helping non melbourne based teams. It will nullify vic team home advantage which ironically is why interstate clubs do so well.
  2. Go Tigers. Gee I hope they smash the Crows after the dodgy umpiring last week. A big smashing.
  3. I get the feeling he will start holding more marks soon...many dropped are juggled or bounce out. Hes only 19 and once this clicks he will start kicking goals. Unlike all other forwards Luke has been running all over the ground rucking which takes its toll energy and strength wise. Its not like the blokes sitting in a forward pocket contesting only when the ball comes in so that must have an impact.
  4. Congrats to Joel Selwoid this round. Has knotched up his 30th free kick for the year.??☹
  5. I certainly dont know what Tmac has done but he could market it and make millions. Last year he could barely move. I saw him running last night and he was super fast. Yes he was sprinting and moving at great speed for a bloke his size especially in a late stage of the game. Its a great turn around. Credit to him and the fitness and or medical staff. An incredible transformation. As much as we talk about bb, sam, May, Max and Oliver....I really believe Tom is the key to us winning a flag. Sounds like a big call but he is our best forward easily....more so than Fritta. When he is on which has been most games this year, he is very dangerous. His marking around the ground in several games has been prolific.. hes deadly accurate on goal....he tackles hard and as mentioned his running is awesome.
  6. Gee Lions are a good side. Another big test...scalp coming up.
  7. Oliver 6 Harmes 5 Rivers 4 Lever 3 Spargo 2 Max 1
  8. Well reasoned post. I like Sam. Hes just not as good as Bb. The fact of the matter is Bb is a freak talent. Had a poor year last year but the three years prior was the best ff in the comp easily. Sam is not a bad player and Id love to see him succeed because I get tge feeling he goves his all. But they are not in the same league so to speak. Bb has proven himself as a star full forward. Sam hasnt. Its not to say Sam wont be great but its a fair assumption that its unlikely he will be as good as bb was. I know Sam is young and still developing and has more longevity but bb has an awesome record. Before anyone says records are in the past, its the same reason Fritta wasnt dropped after a few poor games. Its been proven what they CAN do. I wouldnt drop Weid this week but if he plays again like last night then its move over time. Sure they were two timely goals but its just a pass game at best.As bad as Bb was at vfl level according to reports...its a worry Sam played like he did with his spot under pressure. Dont get me wrong Id love Sam to be a great player but I prefer Bb. The facts are one has been great and the other not. if Sam plays better next week, more power to him and more success to us. Its not about either or for me its about the mfc getting a flag.Im sure we all feel the same.
  9. Gee Bbs vfl stats are a worry. Wonder what happened there?
  10. Is there speculation we will play Lions in Sydney?
  11. Are you sure we had more inside fifties Northern Dee? Where did you read it please.
  12. Thanks Dz. Did he ever play forward just out of interest? That mark he took was a ripper.
  13. Agree with Sam W. It wasnt enough. But I thought the club was hasty in dropping bb after three games so Im going to be fair and suggest they let Sam string a few before they pull the plug if required. Altough I am really torn bw doing the right thing by players and fielding our best team. I think Bb and Sw are very different players. Bb is a classic full forward and Sam is a classic Chf. Tmac can play anywhere. On this basis I am inclined to play Bb as long as we keep playing Tom at Chf. Tom is also a better chf than Sam is so it leaves Sam on the outer Im afraid.its a very interesting problem bw Sam and Bb and the sooner we resolve it the better. The truth be told Tmac has surprised everyone by his incredible form but we would not be anywhere the team we are without him. I also think the club is worried about losing Sam given he is younger and still developing his craft. But the window for a flag with this player group is this year and next and and outside chance the following. So if that means playing bb and Sam leaves its a no brainer in end. Bb was the keading goal kicker for three years in a row prior to last year in an average team. He had one bad year. Tom had two so its not like bb who was better cant turn things around. If he returns to his previous form we will go gangbusters. I hope Im wrong and Sw starts kicking oodles of goals each week but all signs point to the player with the proven record.
  14. Really surprised by this. Doesnt look it. Very agile for his size then.
  15. As important as it was to beat the dogs ( who despite the way we made them look are a top side), regain top spot, it was a great tonic after the huge error from last weeks worst umpiring clanger of the year. The lads could have been bitter and felt cheeted and let it distract them but no. They are a very professional and mature outfit. We looked tired against the crows but the coaching staff must have got this weeks training schedule spot on. We were choc full of energy , raced out of tge blocks for once but did start to look slower in the last. As great as it would have been to win against the crows, I think the loss and especially the manner of it, actually gave us further motivation. The win revealed our defence failure last week was a definite one off. It is the best going around. Lever and May must be the envy of all. But the young one in Rivers never ceases to stop impressing me. Even Petty is starting to show what he can do. Our midfield took control over one of the touted best about. We just need to tweak our forward line which alhough is doing ok certainly can do better. I dont want to lose Jackson in the ruck but we are a fwd down when hes there. I have complete confidence the club will do this and the choices up there will work themselves out. Great to see Fritta firing again . He is too good to stay down. Tmac has been wonderful is so many games and as far as his accuracy at goal goes...he is awesome. Once it does it will become even more exciting.
  16. Some have knocked him but he is really starting to show why hes in the team. He is growing in confidence and I think will become an even better player. It was a ripper of a mark.
  17. Its a fair comment. Luke is great in the ruck because he is suberb at ground level. But then we are lacking a key forward a lot of the time. Max doesnt always go frwd and when he does he often misses goals. Luke up forward isnt really impacting the scorboard either. Not sure of a solution but since we are having our best season for a long, long time Im not too concerned .
  18. Would be good to see him on the wing but I think hes just too valuable in his current role.
  19. Id prefer Bb but Sam gets another game. The club cant just keep swapping them about . Besides we did get a brief glimpse of Weids skill with thos two goals. Hopefully he can build on that. We won with a few players not at their best in Jackson, Kozzie, Hunt, Salem and even Langdon was a tad quiet. Hopefully no injuries so ...no changes. On a side note...so much focus has been on Trac as our superstar but for me its Oliver by a country mile.
  20. I would love to have a helicopter view of the game. So many times the dogs struggled to move the ball from their defence. They would transition to the other side only to be stuck and hesitant again. Our blokes are super fit and must be covering a lot of ground to keep blocking teams like that. You just dont get the perspective on tv.
  21. Some interesting stats. Dogs had seven players with more than 25 disposals. We had one...Oliver. Dogs won the clearances. Dogs more marks. Dogs more tackles. Dogs 1 more free kick. Dogs more inside fifties. But we won quite convincingly. Trac was interviewed post match and said he thought the boys were cooler and smarter than the crows game. They didnt rush themselves or panic. We showed that its about playing smart. The dogs were like us last week and second guessing themselves. Lever, May and Rivers are a great combination. Max Gawn played a big part as well for mine.
  22. I thought his first half was average but his second was very good. Aside from Oliver who is always starring Anb and Harmes were the best performers. And great work from Spargo. Oh yea and the backline was back to its best. Sam W was not great but full credit for those two important goals whrn it would have bern difficult to keep himself motivated. Kept his place with those I think. And Fritta pulled himself out of his slump. So impressed we have fixed our slow starts.
  23. A special shout out to the ump from last weeks game.
  24. Back where we belong. Beaten a team above us and clear leaders. Take a bow Oliver...Lever..Rivers...Harmes..Anb and May. Still technically undeafeated.?
  25. 7 more goals please. They are on the ropes. Kill kill kill.
