I do appreciate that he was good enough to win us a flag. But we should have won two. I believe that losing Melksham and Gus was a significant factor in both years. That's not on Goody's head. But our lack of depth of fwds and inaccuracy which contributed to our finals losses is. And they have been ongoing for over three years now reflecting our current status. We need an infusion of proactive coaching which involves making hard calls in cutting players and staff. I don't feel Goody is mean enough. In any case we will be lucky to string together 8 wins this year so surely a new coach can't hurt. If something isn't done we will miss finals for a third year in a row.

Dropping out of two sets of finals without firing one due to poor kicking and aging fwds was bad enough. Then eleven wins last year with still no improvement in the previous issues. And this year will see even less wins with the same problems. Definitely time for Goody to go and quite a few others including players. We are tending down each year and on our way to a wooden spoon. Bad enough to blow two years of double chances but what we have been serving up this year has been both sublime and atrocious. Sadly mostly atrocious with our tallest forward averaging a hearty seven goals out of ten games with maybe a total of 17 for the year. Wth?

Any coach who has failed to address a record like ours on goal kicking accuracy should be well and truly given the boot. No hesitation.

I think you are correct in using him in the middle has negated his progress as a forward. He's been struggling on the latter and using him as a ruck has only added to the struggle. The clubs negligence in recruiting another ruck has been woeful and we are seeing it's results. It's interesting because at one stage after losing Jackson we got Grundy and had two ruck players including the best. And then just one. Why we didn't find a replacement for Grundy was very strange And here we are all these years later. Imagine if Max went down this year and he's getting on a bit. It's just down to Maxs great fitness he's not injured all the time. Club just puts it's head in the sand so often.
