Melbourne 2017 ladder prediction
leave it to deever replied to Delusional demon 82's topic in Melbourne Demons
i like your optimism but I'm thinking 13 wins and making 7 or 8. Interesting that almost everyone thinks the Hawks are on the way down. -
Out of my anticipation of our success this year and waning interest of I'm a celebrity, who is for a season of AFL of equal length to the NRL? I know they have a week off for State of Origin but it is still 3 weeks longer. Anyone else for more footy? Or is it too much on the players?

I want to thank all those at Demonland for running this site. New here for the first time this year it has helped me cut back on my drinking, glue sniffing, dog beating and all round unhappiness. I have enjoyed many insightful comments from many members about the club as well as the odd insult thrown my way. It’s one big unhappy family. There are a few demon fans I have loved following for their passion (Dazzle) their humour (Bitter, E. Tremblay and Chook) and pith (Biffen). Hope to see you on the other side in 2017 when we smash em.

Nice work although I must agree with RTG who argues we need a better nickname for the guy.

Seriously....you calling someone else boring......... I hate to be the bearer of bad news but having just returned from Canberra on a grey cold Sunday arvo.............you give it a bloody good run for its money. Sorry Canberra residents. -

Could Jack Watts become our next captain?

Go forth and goal my children. May your enemies armpits be blessed with the fleas of a thousand camels. -
Could Jack Watts become our next captain?
leave it to deever replied to MrBurns's topic in Melbourne Demons
If his form continues to improve like this year, I hope he will captain in 2 years. Viney is too young. The 2 co captain Jacks; Grimes and Trenners were way too young to captain. JV hopefully will take the mantle after Watts. That's a lot of captain Jacks. -
Handballing so much in the wet or when your four goals down in the last qrt isnt always constructive.

It is so [censored] frustrating

The scary thing from this years season is how much Max Gawn has become a barometer of the rest of the team. Of all our 10 wins he has fired with marking and possessions around the ground as well as dominating the ruck. In every one of our losses (correct me if Im wrong) he hasn't done that much in terms of getting marks and kicks. Not blaming him as he is probably worn out rucking solo. Is it a glaring issue for anyone else? There are a few players I am worried about and VDB is one of them. Garlett is a concern now along with Kent for me. Vince doesnt belong in the backline. Not worried about stretch, he like Oscar M will improve. Wied, Gus, Oliver, Viney and Tracca are still learning and growing. Watts a poor day but great season. Hope Wagner can get back to early glimpses of himself. Melksham was someone I wanted to see play. If Hogan can fix his kicking he will be a superstar. He gives his all I believe. There are a lot of players on our list that seem in limbo like Dunn, Garland, Dawes, Spencer, King, JKH, Grimes, Trenners, White , Newton, Hulett and Terlich. As frustrated I am with the loss today, I think given the talent and age of many players we will improve but if we don't play finals next year, it will be a disaster.

We have not won a game without Max firing. -

Have to say that is a well thought and accurate post. Hogan tried his heart out today when quite a few shouldn't have even turned up. THis club has is far from to the one of only 2 years ago. Dirty green maggots must bear some of the wrath. -
10 wins this year is still a pass. Only just based on today game.

Me too.I have to keep myself going.

Well it was a much better season despite the poor effort today. Onwards for 2017 pleas Dees.
-
Agreed unfortunately. Belongs at CHF.

As bad as the Essendon loss. Back to the drawing board.
-
Hes taken 13 marks on a wet day.
-
Ive said it before...unless Gawn has a big day we always lose.

This is the old Melbourne that we try forget about. Look up the word optimism and it will be a photo of a guy wearing a red and blue scarf.

Fair call he should have been in.

Not looking good. I will wager that the umps even up the frees more when the game is gone. Sometimes its seems as if the umps get annoyed at the crowd jeering them.
