Hes a likeable enough bloke but I"m afraid that if he goes gangbusters this year I will feel a tad shortchanged and feel like he didnt do enough for Melbourne. Catch 22 for me. Best to just move on and accept that he will be pretty much the same player except when he plays his old team and like the rest of them seem to do .... kick a huge bag. Just the way it is. I do hope we that don't treat him like Scully though.

Seems to have reached this point for many I think. But what are you going to do? You know you should do something but.......

I'm pretty sure that over the last 2 seasons we have displayed heaps of potential. Yes last years finish was a bust. Yes we were weak in 3 significant games but there were also huge injury issues. But for most of the season we had some great wins ( Crows, Dogs, Eagles) that proved we were tough as well. Let them underestimate us at their own expense. This is clearly a H20shed year for the club I predict a third year of potential and improvement with enough wins to play finals.

Interesting post. Yep Jw had his haters but on the whole many fans really wanted to see him succeed and many saddened by his departure. Now hes gone ...despite him playing some very good footy in the last 2 seasons... I cant believe how patient most of us were. In the cold light of day(and I know he used the ball so well).. his stats are very low. ...he will never be a great player. I think at the end of the day the club has done the right thing.

You are not alone. All of us here seem to have a high expectancy of playing finals and playing well. It is not unfounded as we almost did last year. We had a shocking run of injuries at the worst time as well. Im upset about J. Watts leaving but Lever is a great bonus. I think Viney will go to a new level and we will really see what Hogan can do. Also hoping that Trac will explode. Time for us to get excited.Good times to be a Dees supporter.

It was great to see so many embarrassing records ticked off that famous thread last year. I'm sure it will continue with a birth in the finals as well a a win against Norf. Want the players to be confident but not get ahead of themselves in the media at times and here's hoping we don't get smashed by injuries again towards the business end of the season (or any for that matter). Lovely bloke hounded by the media and handled poorly by the club by playing him too early. He may well be a very good player for us but we can't be sure on previous form. The problem with taking 8 years to develop is that there isnt much room to have a slump. (ie not sure if thats all it is)

I know he had some personal issues but the same thing happened last year.

He was good in the last game but was horrible in his 3 games b4 that. I hope he goes and plays well somewhere else .......best of luck to him. He had a great year last year but he fell away at the end of this one. Hes a seasoned player and needs to show leadership. He didnt and If we can get someone who can in his place we should.

Jeffys said shots have always been awful....part of his game he really needs to improve. That and playing more than 2 thirds of a season.

Bugg can nick off after his efforts when we needed him.After he knocked that poor bloke out he immediately started talking to the press how its not our brand of footy. What an idiot he was the one who did it.

Perhaps they should make a few senior players (we all know who they are) answer the phones and emails and take the brunt of disgruntled members who help pay their nice salaries.
