Average Age & Games
Couldn't agree more. Its carried them for a long time. They have also relied on a handful of players ( who are getting long in the tooth) The no crowd at kardinia I think helped nullify their home advantage but it has been a huge factor in them winning about ten games each year every year. It's a small ground with the crowd up in the umps face. Sick of playing there but round 23 was so sweet. I remember ticking that for a loss trying to ascertain our finish.😁

I think the 3aw comments were after Sparrows was ...."whose to say they cant get another one". He he. I know I'm bias but its interesting that after such a long drought for what was a super prestigious and successful club. It came to an end in the way it did. The most memorable gf for a long time. Not just for Dees fans.

I've sometimes thought Goody is slow to make changes but it turns out he just has faith in the lads. As for putting Jackson in the middle it was an inspired change. Love the way this bloke manages the ball at ground level.( actually Max ain't to bad crumbling this year either). Another high draft pick who has shown why he was rated. Moves so fast for a 200cm plus 100 kg player. His celebration of other teammates success says a lot about him too.

Hand on heart I promised myself after our after the siren win in Geelong that I would never lose faith in our team again. If I had a dollar for every time I made that promise....$$$$$

Not taking anything away from other players but Trac simply played an incredible game. He has really stepped up to the level everyone was hoping for. We have certainly had a mixed bag of results from high draft picks. I for one was wondering when we would have our own Ablett. Martin or Dangerfield. Well we certainly have a true legend of the game in Trac. It's like a switch has been flicked. The way he plays is full of confidence. Hes never afraid of being tackled because he knows he can just push a player off or simply use his strength to break free and handball. Hardly ever gets pinged. His goal kicking has gone leaps and bounds. I thought this game might be a kinda Bont v Trac but the dogs premier player seemed to have fizzled out after his third goal and Trac really went to work. I know we had great efforts from Fritta, Salem, Gus and Oliver but the third quarter was owned by Trac and the Norm Smith went where it was supposed to. I'm pretty sure that he is going to win a Brownlow very soon.

One of the glaring differences between this years team and previous seasons has been our ability to finish strong. We have emerged victorious from being behind in quite a few games. It started early with the Saints game and was epitomised in round 23 against the cats. Our fitness staff need to be commended as do the players and coach for their belief in themselves and teammates. I should have probably called this thread "Ours in forty seconds" because it was no fluke. The doggies didn't lose it ....we just stepped up a few gears and took this game by the scruff of its neck.

Good old Mfcss. I'm pretty sure there's not too many gfs were lost with a five six goal lead in the last. But I know where your coming from. The 3aw commentator was the same and would call it either.

Gone in 40 seconds.
I'm sure it will go down in club history and probably AFL legend as the best minute of footy ever.

Gone in 40 seconds.
Yep it obliterates the number of goals past the number of minutes win rule.

Yeah if I'm honest, I probably felt the same. But still blown away from that spree.

TRAINING: Friday 10th December 2021
Back at it again. Another season soon upon us. I seriously can't wait until it starts. I have never looked forward to a footy season as much as 2022. I have a new found sense of confidence and expectation with this mob. I really believe we will go back to back. We have the talent. We have the motivation...a granny at our home. We have the supporters to encourage them. Bring it on. Ed running down the members wing. Hunt down the middle. Trac busting packs. Fritta flying high. Lever spoiling parties. Gawn roving like a small man. The hot pie gravy trickling down my gullet and let's be honest all over my shirt. The crowd yelling ball. Spending eight bucks for a light beer and enjoying it. Talking about the umpires other half. Oh how I miss it.

Clayton Oliver Interview
I'm sure hes going to win a Brownlow in the next few years. Three years ago I think his disposal of the ball was sloppy at times with those Hollywood handball over the head. He is so much more effective and clever with his ball use and so much more confident. There was a scene in the granny that Daisy pointed out where he was tackled by two dogs players simultaneously and still managed to take a decent kick. He and Trac are worth the price of admission alone.

POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
A shame he didn't get to play in a granny. Such a big part of our previous success.

The last three goals of the quarter still amaze me and I must have watched them over fifty times. Dees of old would so often concede a goal in the last minute of many quarters. From the dogs perspective with the ball moving into our fwd line, dogs fans must have been thinking we need to hold on and not give up a goal. But nobody thought of giving up three and especially the way it happened. Truly spectacular in any game but more so in a granny. I wonder how many people went to get a beer or take a toilet break. I reckon if I was at the ground, I would have snuck off to get a beer before others. I'm pretty sure those goals just crushed the dogs spirits as four goals is not insurmountable. But we scored at will in the last. I was dancing everywhere after those goals and I was sure the flag was ours. Was everyone else convinced?

2022 Financial Report
Yep I think Jaguar would be well pleased with our new flag and extra exposure. It may well fuel the image of well heeled and prosperous supporters but is that really so bad. Is it a crime to have nice cars, be skilled in outdoor winter sports and have a more sophisticated cheese palette? No mergers or relocotions ever for this financially responsible club.

2022 Fixture
Used to always be the case. Like clockwork we were sent there and got pantsed. But now I think it doesn't matter so much even if it would be fair for cwood to go there just once. We smash geelong anywhere.

Average Age & Games
It's more revealing with the median age. The thread on players peaking seemed to suggest 25 to 26 was about it. We have a lot of players at the age of 25 especially in the middle. Oliver( 24), Trac, Gus. Ed. Plus Fritra, Lever and Salem. We have some key feds and defenders ( our big men) in late 20s which are nicely balanced out by some exciting youngers. The stats can be misleading like Geelong where they have players around thirty and players towards twenty with not as many mid twenty players like us.
