  1. I agree 100% re Spargos delivery. Am on record for praising it. Always finds a player. The issue for me is he's not getting the ball enough and struggles to kick a set shot more than 35 at present. Would love to see him lift.
  2. I can never fault Anbs work ethic. His is by far and above our leading tackler. Nobody can take that away from him. Sometimes he mucks up but he's always are best 22.
  3. Lions can thank their lucky stars or the Afl that they only play at the ground which has the most home teams in the comp.....the Mcg, only a grand total of two times. Sheesh
  4. A lot of love for Judd M. Good stuff.
  5. I just need Power to lose to complete the perfect weekend.
  6. I wouldn't go that far. He fumbled a lot. I would say his game was serviceable. That's a nice safe position.
  7. Yea it will be interesting. The upside is we have found a new fwd in an old one in Melksham. I hope it continues. The thing that worries me about Grundy is his marking prowess. Also Jvr is a very good set shot. In the final analysis I would wager that just like Max, Grundy is not a great forward option. Having said that I'm not sure Max can play like last night without exhaustion. So Grundy giving him a twenty per cent chop out would help. Some tough calls for the wiser heads than moi.
  8. I give credit to all of you stayed till the end.
  9. That's being generous. Will finish 14th after this round and will be lucky to win three more for the year. Up until about three weeks ago had a great run with the least injuries. Pains me we lost to them but we have at least taken a couple of top teams .
  10. Still think Dockers are a good side @ Rhino Richards and DemonWa? Currently fourth last. Fair Dinkum.
  11. May not necessarily be a bad thing.
  12. Saints most likely to beat the Suns. Not sure if I want them to though. If they do, they stop cats from moving to fifth as they are likely to account for the dons at fortress kardinia. But perhaps better if cats are fifth with 38 points.....a game and a half away from us
  13. Agreed, although in saying this would Grundy be a better choice fwd than Jvr? Not sure. Not that Chandler has excelled but I'd prefer him to Spargo.
  14. Not sure if Jvr gets the nod over Bbb if Grundy comes back. We won't need jvr in the ruck. I think Bbb is the better option.
  15. He was going off after the siren too. Loved it. Trying to claim that mark was up there with danihers perfect dive.
  16. It was Lever who had the majority of that ball in that final contest. It hit Levers chest first .
  17. On a night where lions had over thirty more marks, Melksham was supreme as our best marking player. Ten marks in total with five contested. Instrumental link in Kozzies third goal. His leads were good too. A fwd who knows his craft. A power marking fwd is what we have just so simply had missing. As for Grundy, he must play solely as a fwd, if he plays. I would say him in place of either Jvr or Bbb. I'd guess the former but it's not a given. Jvr is good but still very much developing. I don't want Max run into the ground carrying such a heavy load so maybe Grundy has to come back for 20% of the ruck and then play fwd. The only problem with Grundy fwd is his marking. We continue with Milk even when Fritta comes back. We have been so top heavy with smalls. Spargo is there to score and he's simply just not performing in that role. He could go out for Fritta. Smith is the penultimate sub. He can play fwd or back and athletic enough to play most roles. With Trac playing fwd can we please rotate Rivers and Salo through the middle more. Tomlinson must come until Petty is 100%
  18. Yea that's a genuine issue. Probably not, but it was great to see vintage Max.
  19. It makes sense that Max played better. Just like when Kozzie is struggling they give him a run in the middle. Max played better because he was involved in the game on a full-time basis. You constantly get the feel of the game , the ball in your hands and have much more confidence. Particularly Max, who has always been an endurance player. Warming the bench or parking in the fwd line also gives one time to dwell on any mistakes or low form.
  20. They are probably the same ones that think cheating Joe copped a push in the back.
  21. Can Fritta and Milk both play in the same fwd line? I think so. When Melksham was lining up for his first goal from the boundary line with the clock against us, I thought he was fluffing around too long. But so essential to take ones time and slot it. Ice cold blood on his veins
  22. That win puts out almost round two comeback into perspective. They had a plethora of excuses. Well last night put those to silence Lions don't finish strongly and they can't win at the G. Good luck if you ever make a granny. He he.
  23. From Goody's presser, sounds like Brodie will spend most time in the fwd line. Maxs centre clearances were supreme and last night showed he belongs in the ruck as much as possible.
  24. Some really iconic pivotal moments from this game. Max sky high goal late in the third. Kozzies third goal. Rivers barging through the middle. Vineys snatch and goal. Jake the snakes two goals. Levers mark.
  25. I hate to say it but we may be a better team without Grundy. Not because of Grundy but Max looks like he plays better in the fulltime role. Max hasn't had a great season this year but last night played a blinder. Not sure what Goody and co will make of it.
