  1. These are the teams we have struggled to put away. Teams like giants. Having said that, Crows haven't faired well across their border and at this stage of the season we really need to come out smash them. We are six rounds from finals ...fourth v twelfth. No excuses for this one. Need to build our momentum and have a convincing win.
  2. Agreed. Max needs a chop out and Grundy is more capable at doing this than Jvr. Bbb has shown some good form and Jvr has been off the boil somewhat. So Grundy in for Jvr. Simples. Thats two very tall talls in Bbb and Grundy. Fritta and Milk. Two very hard match ups. Spargo makes room for Fritta.
  3. There's a lot to be sorted before finals . First off let me make one thing easier. Bbb stays. He hasn't killed it but has shown glimpses of his old form. Some excellent leads and marks. He's not bad in the contest either and his height and leap are a worry for every teams best defender. Kozzie stays. Didn't kill it either but still kicked three very good goals. Getting him in the middle early helps. I say we rotate Kozzie and Trac. Speaking of our new fwd, Trac is killing it there. Eight goals in two weeks. Well done Goody Our fwd mix....Grundy or Jvr? Does it have to be so black and white? What about Smith? Clearly Jvr or Grundy have to help Max out in the ruck. Can we play both? We have been top heavy with smalls why not go the other way. The real burning issue may be if Milks form continues. I mean someone has to step aside for Fritta. Not sure if there is room for Smith. I do think he makes the perfect sub. Just needs to be used earlier. On present form, I'm inclined to have a fwd line that includes Bbb, Milk, Grundy and Fritta ( get well soon)with Spargo and Jvr going out. I really hope Melksham can keep that form going. Not to take a potshot but he's struggled in the past. But gee he was moving around like he did when we picked him up. Apologies to Jvr and Spargo but come finals I want two talls in Bbb and Grundy. Two mediums in Melksham and Fritta. As for crumbing, Kozzie, Nibbler, Viney and Trac have this covered. Feel sorry for Jvr and Chandler who have really stepped up this year. And apologies to Spargo. Also think Smith is unlucky but he certainly makes the best sub choice than the others.
  4. Despite the impact it deserves an easy three. You can't go around taking swings at people even if you are weak as....
  5. I'll give it a go but of I'm not liberated, do know that I accept checks.
  6. Funny that if someone told me that we kicked 105 points, I would have assumed we cruised home. Especially after our first four goals. Been a while since we've kicked over a hundred. Funnier that lions kicked a hundred first. Not much of a percentage win but what a bloody win. Watched the last ten mins three times.
  7. Gee Tiges a chance for the eight next week.
  8. We need him. As much as we may ponder if the experience has worked or not, Grundy was instrumental in keeping our season alive when Max was out for a good chunk of change. Not a bad reserve ruck at a minimum. Truth be told we really have no serious spare in development so keeping Grundy is a must. Also we can't afford to play Max exclusively on the ruck role without running him into the ground. Grundy certainly has a part to play. It's simply a question of how much and where.
  9. I don't know but in any case it gives me the sh1tz. I'm worried about them catching us. Must beat the Croweaters this week.
  10. For a team third on the ladder and a genuine contender last year, that is a huge and worrying voodoo. And didn't we add to it beautifully. Will surely come into play come finals time. Top stuff.
  11. I know Milk is getting a lot of hero status for his match winning goals. But Vineys goal was probably the best. Shook of his opponent and then simply wrestled it off a huge player to kick a goal from inside the proverbial phone booth. Shout out to Kozzie you kept his feet and beat two lions opponents for his third and most important goal. Vintage Kozzie. Hope that reignites his confidence. Did anyone hear a commentator groan on kayo, ten seconds into our theme song? Possible Bt moment.
  12. Gawn in post lions interview, was pretty adamant that the Gawndy experiment is going to continue. If it does , it's evident Max has to ruck most of the game. Is it possible for Grundy to play in defence instead of fwd? We could swing Petty fwd? Just wondering since Brodie is not a great mark.

  14. Would like to see him spend more time in the middle.
  15. First goal hardly gets any better. Apple not far from the tree.
  16. Isn't it tempting to fry them when their namesakes let you down on occasion? Oh come on, when the lockdown was on, you weren't really hungry at times. Alright, I take it back. Sorry.
  17. Watching the last five minutes, there were a few deliberate out of bounds not called by umps. One a beauty with lions ruck simply pinching it over from the contest. Given Brissie scored their only last quarter goal through big Joe's Greg Louganis impersonation they were quite lucky. I'm not a fan of umpire Nichols. Thank God they got the Lever mark right. First four goals and last four.. love a bit of symmetry.
  18. I agree 100% re Spargos delivery. Am on record for praising it. Always finds a player. The issue for me is he's not getting the ball enough and struggles to kick a set shot more than 35 at present. Would love to see him lift.
  19. I can never fault Anbs work ethic. His is by far and above our leading tackler. Nobody can take that away from him. Sometimes he mucks up but he's always are best 22.
  20. Lions can thank their lucky stars or the Afl that they only play at the ground which has the most home teams in the comp.....the Mcg, only a grand total of two times. Sheesh
