Agreed. I think we were fired up enough. I know we lost it ourselves with the worst kicking but the umpires ignored a lot of frees payable to us and gifted 2 goals to blues with the softest frees possible. The crowd does sway them . We played pretty well for the most part. Bar the centre clearances. Our backline was supreme. A lack of a tall fwd really showed. Four ruck duels not competed. Tmac was really making up the numbers. Be nice if the club could have played Grundy but I feel as if they don't trust him. Something nqr there. I feel that the lions would have thumped us up there in Brisbane but it would have been a decent shot in the arm to have won one final. Alas this game is cruel at times.

After some reflection, I still feel a little annoyed. I think for several reasons. First in terms of luck. Losing an inform Melksham was the Star going into finals. Another fwd ...Geez. The whole Maynard thuggery. Probably would have won with Gus. And the inside 50 count. We probably lost it ourselves. Maynard getting off. The media death riding us. Kicking a million points again against Carlton. They didnt win.......we lost. And the umpires. Let's face it ,this final series was the one from hell. Would be hard to replicate. Go Gws.

Gus was best on ground against Carlton in the home and away game. So there were a few big outs.

Good call. I hate to say it but we lack depth. And while we have been unlucky with fwd line injuries, bbb, tmac and milk are all over 30, so some of them should have been anticipated. There are players like Salo and Langdon that should have been dropped but I'm not sure we had players to replace them. A number of exits for me. Grundy whose probably gone anyway. Tmac. Schache. Bbb. So yea we need some talls asap. And a ruck.

What happened with the no ruck contest up fwd. Happened about four times. Was Tmac off the ground?

He was one of our best players against Carlton for me. And certainly a big reason why we got to play finals in the first place. He can certainly hold his head up high. Wonderful season.

Before Fritta was injured, he was a very good kick at goal. Not so much after.

A number of changes have occurred since 21. Hibbo has slowed. Although I think our backline is still one of the best about. Salem has been seriously sick or injured and a shadow of his star self. Langdon not the same player this year. Bbb and Tmac have had injuries and poor form. The game seems past both of them. Oliver missed half a year from a hamstring. Hmmm. Petty was injured most of the year. Fritta the same. Grundy Gawn combo wasa disaster. Goody made poor selections. Kozzie had a bad season. Hot and cold. Plays too angry. Jvr the same. Spargo the same Jordan not really up to it. Chandler a couple of good games only. Sparrow up and down. Kicking at goal out the window.

Tx for mentioning the umpiring. I know ultimately we lost it by poor kicking but with some balanced umpiring we would have won. Carlton got some very soft fries that directly caused goals. Umps were red hot on rolling over on top of the ball but for some reason just stopped paying it. Carlton got a lot of 50 m penalties and we had none despite their infringements. It wasn't just the many more frees paid to Carlton it was the many more they ignored paying us. To add injury it got worse in the last quarter. Suspicious.

Our poor goal kicking is 100 per cent a problem in the mind. Wait till we make finals again. It will be worse. Move over cfc.... We are the new collie wobbles. It's a worry. Four in a row.

I know we lost it last night but the soft frees to Carlton all night and the ones denied to us came straight from the afl script to gift Carlton another final. It's good business. We ain't welcome. We're just minnows. The media hate us too. I know viney stuffed up but he May, Lever and Trac did very well. Smith too. A lot of passengers again.

Tmac was cooked 18 months ago but not only did we not replace him, we gifted him game after game after game. Including two finals where he had absolute stinkers again. Pack it in mate, please. Your starting to erase your previous great acts

Hope he does the right thing and retires. Bbb too. Our goal kicking coach sucks. The gawn Grundy idea was a joke. Max chokes in front of goal and Grundy never could mark. Friita and melk disappeared last years finals. This year it was Fritta and tmac. No sub activated. Well played goody. Umps were poor but our goal kicking was once again putrid. Been the same all season. Jvr really let us down. Probable would be in a Pl if not for Maynard's horrible act. Another shocking straight sets finals campaign. Four in a row. Wow. It will haunt us next year.

It sure is. I won't mention injuries because there are too many other factors. We have just week after week , ignored our shocking kicks at goal.Gawn has a serious problem with this. The look and fear in his face lining up says it all. Last year our fwd line in Fritta and Milk choked and did very little in the two finals. This year it was Fritta and aTmac. Well done Jvr for getting suspended. Who was the genius who thought Grundy and gawn could play fwd? Did they look at any Grundy video. The fact that he can't mark. Did they forget gawn can't kick goals? Well played. After Bbb and Tmac fell away last year why didn't we do something? Poor recruitment. Poor coaching. Poor skills. Another Poor finals effort. Why has Chandler been gifted games every week. Jordan can move on. I don't want to see tmac ever play a game again. I want a new skills coach. I want bbb desisted. We also have absolutely no depth anymore.

He's a mixed bag. Didn't activate tge sub after another tmac rubbish game. Ignored Tommo all year. Chose Laurie for Pies game.

Poor kicking isn't bad luck. Letting blues waltz out every centre bounce was a disgrace. Poor coaching with no subbing doesn't help.

Would have smashed us the lions. But to lose like thus again. No wonder we don't get big crowds. No wonder it's been 57 years. How can we kick so poorly all night. Credit to Carlton for accuracy and smashing the centre clearances. And a big fu to the umpires who smashed the fire count I the last and ignored some blatant ones. Couldn't do it for Gus.
