  1. Get a sense that Hogan will miss with a sore back/long flight. Hence the unfortunate Dawes inclusion.
  2. If this club doesn't lobby hard for a bye following the Darwin game this will continue to happen.
  3. Should Weideman be in the development league?
  4. Should Weideman be in the development league ?
  5. Will the roof be open on a perfect day? That would help in our quest. Not sure on the policy any more but it has been open for one or two games this season.
  6. Dubious about the level of Lumumba's concussion. Lots more going on there.
  7. Should never play for the MFC again. We are playing one short when Dawes is selected.Anyone on the list could play his role. His refusal to ruck is staggering. Even on a base salary contract next season it would be a disaster. Don't worry about a trade, just delist. Not that anyone would want him.Club needs to make a statement and leave him at Casey.Should nominate a worthy charity and donate a fair chunk of his inflated contract.Disgrace.
  8. Not looking for excuses. Collingwood were much better. Anything is possible in a one off game. Could care less about the result. At the risk of repeating myself, it's mainly about development, or the lack thereof, on this putrid ground. Would be much better had we played at Collingwood, lost, and Casey players developing under AFL conditions. This game was a complete waste of team for all the AFL aligned players. No doubt, for example, Aish was good. He will never get suitable conditions for him like this again in the AFL. Cloke was similarly Ok as everyone came back to his pace. No doubt the Collingwood brains trust will be aware of this. Feel like I'm wasting my breath. Yes, If it satisfies you, Collingwood were better on the day although, in the big picture, irrelevant.
  9. "but I have seen far, far worse conditions at other VFL grounds". Not sure what grounds you've been to recently, however, of the aligned AFL clubs Casey Fields are easily the worst. Collingwood, StKilda, Footscray, Essendon, Geelong and Richmond play in 'AFL' type conditions all year round. North, Hawthorn and Carlton (although do play some games at the excellent Princes Park) less so although these venues are well ahead of CF at their worst. Frightening thing is, worth more rain on the way, Casey Fields will get worse. Laughable if it wasn't so detrimental.
  10. ' The ground certainly not seem to be a bog'. You're obviously taking the pissBox Hill game was pre any reasonable amount of rain .Regardless, yes Casey were not good enough, however, is not the point and secondary. Development of our players to play at AFL level in AFL conditions is seriously compromised here. Virtually two different games. Fortunately Weideman I demand didn't play. Hullett was rendered useless as was Garrett. None of these players will EVER have to endure this quagmire at the elite level. Yet this is our home ground when so many other options exist. This is not even considering the inaccessibility of the venue, shocking viewing conditions and the lack of groundswell of support that was expected from the eastern corridor. Casey Fields is the MFC Afghanistan.
  11. No it doesn't.Can live with a poor centre wicket and a wind. Casey fields is in a rain belt, wind swept and basically a centre wicket for the entire ground. Arguably,if not, the worst ground in the VFL. Most definitely holds back the development of our young players and those attempting to regain form.'Wet' at AFL level is a stratosphere away from what we saw today and unfortunately we seemingly have to accept in the future.
  12. Garlett has been outstanding since crossing from Carlton. Has had a slight dip in form. Don't think he was signed for his tackling prowess. Really tough to be criticized here. He will be back.Just needs some confidence. Impossible in that pig swamp for his type of player. If he didn't 'try' neither then did Hullett,Pedersen and Co.Absolute nonsense.
  13. Was wet,not a bog like this crap hole. Monsoonal rain made it a slippery nonsense, should have been called off. One in a thousand.Metricon Stadium would now be perfect.Casey Fields will only continue to deteriorate, horrible. No comparison.
  14. 10 out 10.Trying to recall a muddy,BOG AFL game in recent memory? It's a winter sport played in pristine conditions. Slippery at worst. MFC should dump the alignment asap.
  15. Disagree. I saw some effort but exercise in complete and utter futility.May as well ask him to chase in a Werribee sewer farm. This game is irrelevant.
  16. Garlett is blameless. No small forward with pace could have performed well at this atrocious excuse for an VFL ground. Sadly though it goes against his recall which it shouldn't.
  17. Waste of time for Hulett. Feel sorry for him.
  18. All remaining games in the season for Casey should be played elsewhere.Disgrace.
  19. Hardly the point I'm making.Should not be used for this level of footy. Disgrace.
